Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Evolution Complete! 2 New Skills! All Old Skills Upgraded!

Gu Yuexi’s eyes snapped open, and she stared in astonishment toward the source of the sound.

The crimson Blood Cocoon was now covered in a web of cracks!

’What’s going on?’

’Is the evolution finished?’

’So soon?!’

Stunned for a moment, her gaze subconsciously swept over to the sofa next to the Blood Cocoon.

There, the large pile of Elixirs, Spiritual Artifacts, and Heavenly and Earthly Treasures she had placed there had now lost all their luster, no longer emitting the slightest fluctuation of Energy.

The leaders had given her so many things, and Liu Ming’s Storage Pouch had contained quite a bit as well. She’d done a rough inventory and casually tossed the items she had no use for over there.

And now, while this mosquito was evolving, it had apparently sucked all of them dry…

Gu Yuexi’s eyes were filled with amazement.

’Could it be…’

’Is it because it absorbed the Energy from all these things that its evolution time was drastically shortened?’

Before she could ponder it further,

CRACK—!

BOOM!

The cocoon of light exploded, transforming into a sky full of crimson motes of light that dissipated into the air.

A brand-new “monster,” one filled with both ferocity and beauty, slowly unfurled its body from within.

Gu Yuexi stared at its new form. Even she, who had become desensitized to its changes, couldn’t help but click her tongue in wonder.

This evolution had once again caused the mosquito’s body to swell, growing from about ten centimeters to nearly eighteen!

It was now the size of an adult’s palm! And about as long as the readers of this book!

Its appearance, however, had undergone an even more drastic transformation.

On its originally pitch-black carapace, the dark-red, lava-like patterns had now evolved into strange, interwoven lines of ethereal blue and deep red.

And while it radiated an aura of scorching flames… there was also a powerful fluctuation of Mental Power?

Gu Yuexi’s heart skipped a beat. ’Could it be? Did this mosquito absorb too much Mental Power and Energy from the Spiritual Crystals, causing its Cyan Flame Power to fuse directly with its Mental Power upon evolution?’

’It can evolve like that???’

’Does it really just evolve into whatever it absorbs?’

But that wasn’t even the biggest change.

Around its head, a domineering corona of pure flame had appeared, resembling a lion’s mane. It swayed gently with its every breath, looking majestic and imposing!

The edges of its wings were now wreathed in a clearly visible layer of fire, a mix of deep red and ethereal blue. When it beat its wings, it left scorching trails in the air.

Even its signature thick, long proboscis had become stouter and more menacing, growing by two centimeters. The tip was wreathed in wisps of blue-red firelight, emitting a strange and dangerous aura.

The searing dominance of the Azure Flame Flying Lion and a cold, eerie Spiritual Power had fused together perfectly.

“A fourth evolution… Not only has it broken the ironclad rule again, but the direction of its evolution has also become even more unbelievable…”

Gu Yuexi muttered to herself, feeling as if she understood this mosquito less and less.

Just then, Chu Sheng, having completed his evolution, circled excitedly in front of her twice. He kicked up a wave of scorching air, and his buzzing was several times louder than before, making her eardrums ache.

Gu Yuexi: “…”

’After so many evolutions, can’t it evolve away that sound?’

’It’s so annoying!!’

“BUZZ BUZZ! (Empress! How about it! Am I handsome or what! Just tell me, am I handsome!)”

Chu Sheng was feeling incredibly smug. He hadn’t expected this evolution to be so fast. It was supposed to take twenty-four hours, but it hadn’t even taken a third of that time!

He subconsciously glanced down at the pile of dim, nearly-spent Elixirs and Heavenly and Earthly Treasures, a pleasant surprise dawning on him.

’Nice, nice, nice! So evolution time can be shortened!’

’I just need to place more Heavenly and Earthly Treasures nearby while I’m evolving!’

’It automatically absorbs the Energy and shortens the time!’

’This is great!’

He’d been worried that his future evolutions would take longer and longer. The more time he spent dormant, the greater the danger.

Now, with this discovery, he could significantly shorten that dangerous period as long as he prepared enough resources!

’What a pleasant surprise!’

With that, Chu Sheng stopped overthinking it and directly opened his system panel to check the gains from this evolution!

[Notice: Next evolution requires 2000 Qi Blood Value and 350 Evolution Points!]

“Holy shit!”

Looking at his brand-new, deluxe panel, Chu Sheng was so excited he nearly did a 360-degree Thomas Flare in mid-air.

’Jackpot! Another epic jackpot!’

’My Mental Power increased by over two hundred points!’

’And my Bloodline Level shot up from Intermediate One Star all the way to Intermediate Five Stars!’

’I’m just one step away from a High-Level Bloodline!’

’The most ridiculous part is that this evolution unlocked two brand-new skills! One passive and one active!’

’And all my previous Skills evolved, too!’

Chu Sheng suppressed his excitement and eagerly began to check the detailed descriptions of his new skills.

First was the biggest change—the flame upgrade!

[Cyan Flame Power] → [Soul-devouring Nether Flame]: Fused the host’s powerful Mental Power with the Origin flame of the Azure Flame Flying Lion, evolving into a High-Tier Soul Flame!

All Flame Skills will now have a strong soul-burning effect!

Not only can it incinerate an enemy’s body, but it can also directly harm their soul and consciousness! It will have an extremely strong suppressive effect against enemies who specialize in Mental Power, such as Spiritual Mind Masters and Array Masters!

Additionally, once the [Soul-devouring Nether Flame] attaches to a target, it possesses the “inextinguishable” trait until the host’s Mental Power is depleted!

“Awesome! Now I’m a Mage, too! And a Mage that deals soul damage at that!”

Chu Sheng was ecstatic. Almost all of his current Skills were related to Cyan Flame Power. With this flame upgrade, all of his offensive skills had undergone a qualitative transformation!

Next, he looked at the two brand-new skills.

[Monarch’s Suppression]: The host’s immense Mental Power has perfectly combined with the Lion King Bloodline within its body, forming a passive suppression aura!

Any creature with a Grade or Mental Power lower than the host’s will feel a soul-deep fear when approaching, and their strength will be significantly suppressed!

Those with weak Mental Power or an unsteady will might even collapse without a fight! Or die on the spot!

…

[Nether Flame Battle Armor]: Active Skill. Condenses Soul-devouring Nether Flame into a semi-corporeal suit of battle armor. Its appearance is as majestic as a lion, with spikes on the shoulders and a monarch-like Nether Fire Aura surrounding it.

Greatly increases physical and Flame Resistance, and makes the host immune to and able to absorb all flame-based Attacks from sources up to two Grades higher than its own!

Attached Effect—[Soul-Burning Pain]: Causes anyone who makes contact to suffer both physical and spiritual burning! Greatly weakens their will to fight and their Spellcasting Ability!

“Damn! It’s for both offense and defense!”

“This seems to have evolved from that previously locked [Molten Armor], right?”

Chu Sheng looked at these two new skills, feeling more than satisfied!

Especially [Nether Flame Battle Armor]—it was practically a Divine Technique for face-tanking and dueling!

’Who dares call a mosquito squishy now? With this Armor on, I’m a flying tank!’

After taking stock of the two new skills he had acquired,

Chu Sheng turned his attention to his old skills, all of which had also been upgraded…

’And every single one of them is more badass than the last!’
