Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 615: 615 Shopping

”I know, Qian Jun, you must be happy.” If it weren’t for Qian Jun at that time, who knows what might have happened to myself and Shi Jing?

Even though I am not married yet. But I have a man, and I have children. Much happier than Qian Jun.

”I know. Take care.”

After Jiang Xinyu hung up the phone, she dialed Yao Shimin’s number.

”Hello, Yao Shimin.”

”It’s Jiang Xinyu.”

”Xinyu, Jingyi was just asking about you yesterday. And today, I received your call.”

”Do I have a niece or a nephew?” Jiang Xinyu asked with a smile.

”A nephew, six pounds six ounces. Very healthy, Jingyi said the child’s good looks are half due to your care.”

”Congratulations to both of you.”

”Hehe, thank you, oh, by the way, how is life over there? Should I send you something?”

Jiang Xinyu felt warmed in her heart, her friends all worried about her life.

”Everything is available here, no need to worry, just take care of Jingyi and my nephew.”

They chatted a bit more, Jiang Xinyu then hung up and called the union of the Provincial City Textile Factory to find Sister Tian.

”Sister Tian, it’s Jiang Xinyu.”

”Xinyu, where are you?”

”Out of town, with my children. Sister Tian, how is your niece now?”

”She gave birth this month, a big healthy boy, both mother and child are well.”

”Congratulations, please pass on my regards, I don’t have the means to return.”

”I will definitely convey that. The child’s father is now revolving around the child every day, fortunately, his current job is easy.”

Alright, please congratulate the couple for me, bless their family of three, and tell the child’s father that the person he cares about is fine.

After Jiang Xinyu hung up the phone, she was truly relieved. It was reassuring to know Lu Weiqi was alright; they were worried about innocent people being affected.

She stood up and went to the children’s room, where she saw they were reading quietly. Not noisy at all.

Jiang Feifei saw her mom coming in and quickly made space for her.

”Mom, lie on the bed for a while, don’t exhaust yourself and my sister.”

The two boys also made space.

Jiang Xinyu thanked them, really feeling a bit tired, lay on the bed, and fell asleep shortly after.

The three children continued reading quietly. They absolutely would not disturb Aunt Jiang’s rest.

Jiang Xinyu only slept for an hour before waking up, still thinking about going to the building later.

”Do you three want to accompany me to the building?”

Of course, the three of them were together, with Dad not around, they must take good care of the pregnant mom.

The four of them linked hands and entered the building, bought essentials on the first floor like soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes and toothpaste, plastic basins, plastic buckets, and a 100-meter water hose. They also bought a few enamel basins.

They placed everything next to a kind salesperson and then went up to the second floor. Here, they bought fine cotton cloth and two pounds of cotton.

On the third floor, they bought school supplies and a clock, so the three children can tell the time and develop a sense of time.

”Mom, can we go pick out some comics?”

Jiang Xinyu nodded, of course, you three go ahead, I’ll stay nearby.

Jiang Xinyu walked around the counter again, spotting some particularly good pens and bought them all, along with blue and black ink.

She also bought a few bottles of ink, as the three kids practice calligraphy daily, and got two stacks of straw paper. It’s good to stock up while available, it won’t spoil and is frequently used in the future.

They ended up buying ten comic books, all newly released, unseen before. Anyway, whenever they go out, they bring back some comics, now enough to fill a big box.

Jiang Xinyu was particularly supportive of the children in this matter, believing that the more books they read, the more it would help them.

Not everything should be about studying every day, there should be a balance between work and rest.

After buying the books, they paid and went up to the third floor, finding nothing else needed.

The four of them cautiously descended the stairs, looking at the heap of goods on the ground, wondering what to do?

Jianbin already older said, ”Aunt Jiang, I’ll go home and get Uncle Yang to drive over.”

Jiang Xinyu was in a dilemma. She couldn’t trust sending him, but leaving them here seemed fine, given there were lots of people around.

”Jianbin, you three stay here, I’ll speak to that kind aunt and entrust you to her, wait here for me, okay?”

The three nodded, understanding that adults were worried about them.

Jiang Xinyu arranged for them, and just as she exited the building, she saw Old Yang driving over.

”Where are the kids?” Old Yang got a bit startled.

Jiang Xinyu smiled apologetically, ”I bought too much, left them watching over the stuff while I came out to find you.”

”Alright, I’ll go load the car right away.”

They loaded item by item into the car. Old Yang finally witnessed a woman’s shopping capability.

”Hehe, I’m realizing now that women’s money is the easiest to earn.

You ladies get in the car, let’s head to the grain station, then home.”

At the grain station, Old Yang had acquaintances and ended up buying fifty pounds of flour, twenty pounds of noodles, twenty pounds of millet, fifty pounds of sorghum rice, and twenty pounds of soybean oil.

These should feed a family for a month.

”Xiao Jiang, is there anywhere else you’d like to go?”

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”No, I’ve bought everything needed.

Master Yang, have you found the people to build the house?”

”Found them, they’re heading there by themselves tomorrow. I just need to wait at Jin Family Village.”

”Are the materials over there prepared?”

”The timber should be ready. Other materials are easy to prepare, stone for the foundation should have arrived too.”

The three kids wanted to read in the car, but Jiang Xinyu stopped them, ”Reading in the car, with all the shaking, is terrible for the eyes, do you want to wear glasses?”

The obedient children put down their books, and Jiang Xinyu started a conversation topic that caught their interest, encouraging each to voice their opinions.

Old Yang marveled inside, how could anyone not teach kids well like this? Once again, marveling at Wei Kaiyun’s luck.

When they got home, Sister-in-law Liu had already cut the noodles, just waiting for them to return and cook.

Seeing the unloaded goods, Sister-in-law Liu went from initial shock to calm acceptance.

These were capable people. As Xiao Jiang said, these are just daily necessities.

Jiang Xinyu allowed Sister-in-law Liu to make the meal, so she could sneakily take out some grain without it being noticeable, since only the two women in the house paid attention to that.
