Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 485: 485 chili oil

”No need, my sister’s husband and his brother will handle it later. This is the chili sauce specially requested by Qian Jun for his wedding.”

”Our director also got the news; Qian was so quiet about it, and suddenly he announced his wedding.”

Jiang Xinyu just smiled. ”There are still two buns; you can take them back for that child.”

”I sent him away; it’s not safe here. I don’t know what Zhao Xiwang has; his house has been searched three times.”

I really don’t feel at ease with a child alone at home, so I sent him to be fostered at his relative’s place.”

”That’s also good; you don’t have the time. How are his parents?”

”I heard they need to be handed over to the city. It’s likely either reform through labor or relocation. Relocation has some hope, but with labor reform, there’s probably no hope.”

Jiang Xinyu understood Lv Beiguang’s meaning and sighed internally.

The door was pushed open, and Wang Ailing came in.

”Xinyu?”

”Sister, hurry up, we’re just waiting for my brother-in-law to start working.”

”Yes, let’s start. Secretary Lv is here too.”

”Yes, do you really not need my help?”

”Since the child is not here, you can chop the chili, and my sister and I will make chili oil.”

Chen Guoliang did it last time, so he doesn’t need teaching. He can even direct Lv Beiguang.

Jiang Xinyu was preparing materials for the chili oil on the side.

Heat oil in a large pot, then prepare the scallions and ginger. Wang Ailing chopped dried chili, and Jiang Xinyu crushed half with a rolling pin on the side.

When the oil was sixty percent hot, put in the scallions and ginger slices. After they are fried dry, take them out, remove the pot from the stove, and put in Sichuan peppercorns, prickly ash, and a few star anise, a few hundred bay leaves, Until it releases fragrance, quickly fish them out. Then add in a bowl of soybean paste and continue cooking on the fire.

When the soybean paste was about done frying, take the pot down again. Wait for a while.

The chopped chili pieces had been put into two large basins, Jiang Xinyu and Wang Ailing each took a spoon, drizzled oil inside. Finally, split the chili powder into two basins. Constantly stirring with the spoon.

”Xinyu, isn’t this chili oil too fragrant?”

”Isn’t it? I learned this recipe. You can take two bottles back; it’s tasty no matter how you eat it.”

”It’s just too wasteful; all these scallions and such need to be fried in oil, how much oil does it take?”

”To make it tasty, waste a bit, it’s worth it.”

The men had already chopped the chili and garlic.

Jiang Xinyu asked Chen Guoliang to stoke the fire, as the outside stove wasn’t working.

By nearly ten o’clock, four big basins of chili sauce were finally done, all placed in the courtyard.

Just waiting until tomorrow morning to bottle and steam it for a while.

Two bottles of chili oil for Wang Ailing to take home, one bottle for Lv Beiguang, and the remaining fifteen bottles for Qian Jun, six bottles; one bottle each for three secretaries; two bottles for Qiao Jingyi and her husband. Leaving only four bottles for herself.

Sent away the three of them, boiled hot water, made herself a bowl of milk powder, then took a shower and went to sleep.

Woke up at four o’clock the next day, fired up the stove and steamed two trays. A total of forty-five bottles. Twenty bottles of these are for Ding Shihong, the rest to be divided among friends.

After everything was sorted, she finally took the chili oil to work.

Early in the morning she received the bright red chili oil, of course, several people were happy.

Jiang Xinyu intentionally brought a bottle, planning to let friends taste it at noon.

After tasting, several people couldn’t stop praising it. Song Qingqing wanted the recipe; she wanted to make it herself.

Even without dishes, just spreading chili oil on some steamed buns can fill you up; it’s really delicious.

During lunchtime, Jiang Xinyu called Ding Shihong, asking him to come pick up the chili sauce tonight.

Today, Qian Jun also tasted the chili oil and chili sauce, couldn’t stop praising it.

Jiang Xinyu lay in bed resting, thinking about Wei Kaiyun coming over by car tomorrow morning.

Really missing him a lot; since they got together, the longest time together was the year she was pregnant with Feifei.

Right then, the phone rang. Jiang Xinyu went out to answer, ”Hello, this is Jiang Xinyu.”

”Xinyu, it’s me. I need to go to Shanghai for business; you should come too. Let’s leave together after Qian Jun’s wedding.”

”I’m going too?”

”Yes, each factory sends one person, and it’s only you from your factory, Qian Jun probably knows by now.”

”Okay, I got it.”

Jiang Xinyu hadn’t hung up the phone yet when the internal line rang.

”I’m on the phone.”

”Fine, wait for me at home.”

”Okay.

Hello, this is Jiang Xinyu.”

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, it’s me. Please come to my office.”

”Okay, Mr. Qian.”

After putting down the phone, Jiang Xinyu went to Qian Jun’s office.

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, the Management Bureau just notified us that you are going to Shanghai to learn at the textile factory for a while.”

”Great, when do I leave?”

”The scheduled time is the twenty-fifth. I calculated the time; you can leave after my wedding and make it in time.”

Qian Jun just finished when the phone rang, ”Hello, Qian Jun.”

Director Wei? Great, I’ve known this too, so I can be at ease; you’ll have company too.”

Jiang Xinyu knew this was Wei Kaiyun calling Qian Jun.

Qian Jun put down the phone, ”Director Wei just called. He said you could go to the textile factory with him. This way, you’ll have company.”

”That sounds good; I haven’t really been to Shanghai; having someone go with me puts my mind at ease.”

After work, went straight home. Not sure when Ding Shihong would come over.

Tomorrow is Thursday already; time flies.

As for Kong Demin, he hasn’t been home for several days; today he must go back. Now he harbors resentment towards the Sun Family, blaming them for all mistakes. However, Sun Hongxia came looking for him this afternoon.

With no choice, they went home together in the evening.

Sun Hongxia tenderly boiled water for Kong Demin.

He briefly washed up, then took medicine while Sun Hongxia was washing up.

Surprisingly, it really worked.

The next day, however, he felt sore all over, no energy at all. He can’t keep doing this; now, Kong Demin is particularly careful about his health, hoping even to cure himself.

Sun Hongxia didn’t know about this situation; she just noticed Kong Demin’s face turning pale.

”Demin, are you feeling unwell?”

”I’m fine, let’s go to work.” A man can’t bear the blow of being unwell.

The whole day he was sluggish, improved a bit after drinking some Chinese medicine, but still felt uncomfortable.

Wang Dajiang, watching Kong Demin like this, was secretly pleased. It was karma; he deserved it.

He already knew about Kong Demin’s problem; at that time, he laughed loudly and ended up crying.

He had liked his cousin since childhood; the girl even said she wanted to marry him, but he had passed her to Kong Demin, which was unacceptable.
