Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 477: 477 Marriage

Sun Hongxia happily returned to her room and started tidying up as soon as she got back last night.

Everything is packed up now. As she tidied up, she felt excited inside, thinking she had married a capable man.

Thinking about last night’s events made her feel even more enthusiastic.

An hour later, she had organized all her belongings but checked the time as Wang Dajiang should not have come over yet.

Lying on the bed, she quickly fell asleep due to the excitement of last night, as she hadn’t slept much.

She was awakened by her mother, ”Get up and eat, aren’t you moving over soon?”

”Mom, what time is it?”

”It’s half-past eleven.”

Sun’s mother looked at her careless daughter and sighed internally, pondering how someone like her managed to find a man like Kong Demin, it really seemed like the heavens opened their eyes.

After lunch, Sun Hongxia loaded all her items onto her bicycle, packing the luggage directly on the back seat.

Sun’s mother watched her daughter leave happily and sighed internally.

Sun Hongxia arrived at Wang Dajiang’s door, saw the gate open, and went straight in.

Wang Dajiang heard the noise and came out grinning; he looked sleazy, and his smile made people avert their gaze.

”Congratulations, Mr. Sun, or should I say sister-in-law now. Hurry, I packed everything up yesterday.”

Sun Hongxia wasn’t embarrassed, and she smiled back at Wang Dajiang, pushed her bicycle into the house.

Wang Dajiang pouted behind her but helped carry the bags, knowing he needed to assist in organizing later.

Sun Hongxia thought Wang Dajiang was quite observant, he was Captain after all, the subordinate of her husband, she should emulate her mother, so she smiled and talked to Wang Dajiang.

”Sister-in-law, just speak up if you need anything.”

”No trouble, I’ll just sort out my things. However, your brother didn’t mention where to pick up his stuff?”

Wang Dajiang’s eyes shifted, ”For the wedding, big brother naturally uses new things; the old ones aren’t needed.”

Sun Hongxia liked hearing this, ”Then I’ll go shopping for his supplies this afternoon.”

”No need, I’ll prepare them. You won’t be staying here long; just buy the essentials. It’s not too late to prepare when moving into the new house.”

”True, you’re right. Alright, I’ll go to my home to instruct the bricklayer on how to organize.”

”Sister-in-law, do you need me to come along?”

”No, you should prepare your brother’s items, clothes, bedding, and the like.”

”Alright, I’ll leave first, here’s the key.”

Sun Hongxia watched Wang Dajiang leave, locked the door, and went home.

The bricklayer was waiting at the gate, and Sun Hongxia assumed the posture of the director’s wife thoroughly. She led the craftsman into the yard and began instructing on what to tidy up — this house will be hers, of course, it will be arranged to her liking.

This craftsman was the same one who built Jiang Xinyu’s bathroom before, so in the end, he asked a question, ”Do you need a bathroom? You can place a stove inside, can bathe even when cold, mainly convenient in summer.

Directly pipe it through, can channel outside.”

”Sure, then add a bathroom. What do you think is still needed?”

”Add a storeroom next to the kitchen, and another firewood room, for storing coal and firewood without cluttering the yard, which wouldn’t look good, and be inconvenient in snow.”

”Alright, craftsman, construct it as you say, add a room next to the bathroom for aesthetics.”

The bricklayer certainly didn’t object, more construction means more money for him.

All was agreed upon, ”Craftsman, could you check the roof for me? Also, the large stove inside, and the furnace, examine if they need remodeling. Do it altogether if necessary.”

”Sure, I’ll inspect everything.”

”Craftsman, how long will these take?”

”Should be completed in a month.”

”Still need another month?”

”That’s the quickest, after erecting the house, need to choose the interior and ground. Window and doors all need fitting, after the bathroom is built, you’ll need thirty sections of chimney, and iron stove, I’ll help install them.”

”Okay, I’ll deliver them in a few days. Why use so many chimneys?” Still needing a month to move in? But thinking it’s all arranged as she likes, her discontent decreased.

”Chimneys are buried underground, essentially replacing pipes, so when the yard is flooded, water can drain along the chimney, broad, no worry of clogging.”

Sun Hongxia found this plan excellent, ”Craftsman, how much does all this cost?”

”Director Kong said, let me handle labor and materials, all together, at least three hundred. However, chimneys, tiles, and windows doors are excluded.”

”Three hundred? Such a large amount?”

”It’s five rooms, with blue bricks and cement costing over two hundred, plus lime and miscellaneous; labor is quite costly too.

Doing these for you costs this much, others would cost at least six hundred fifty.”

Hearing the craftsman’s words, Sun Hongxia agreed and didn’t speak further, but internally decided she wouldn’t pay this money.

”Alright, proceed quickly, if anything is needed, directly contact Director Kong, since I don’t understand it.”

”Yes, Director Kong already gave me the keys. It’s settled, I’ll find Director Kong now.”

Sun Hongxia beautifully rode her bicycle to the office, since there’s nothing else, although there wouldn’t be a wedding, everyone she knew should know she married Kong Demin, all colleagues must please her.

Sun Hongxia truly thought more beautifully. But she suddenly veered to the steel plant.

Wang Zhenzhen was still very worried about Sun Hongxia, feeling reassured seeing her come looking for her with a smiling face.

”Cousin, I got married today, to our director Kong Demin.”

”What? Why so fast?”

Sun Hongxia proudly and quietly approached Wang Zhenzhen, detailing last night’s events.

Wang Zhenzhen was startled, ”Don’t do this in the future, thankfully it’s Director Kong, what if it was someone else?”

”I know, I know. I’m going to work.” What a downer.

Wang Zhenzhen looked at her somewhat displeased cousin, feeling speechless — this was discovered timely by uncle yesterday, had it not been, would this matter have been settled? At that time, Hongxia would be at a loss, her silly nature, truly heedless, uncle and aunt are so cunning, how could they raise a cousin like this? Thoughtless, still naively boasting? Is this a good thing?

Director Kong obviously has his wits about him, with cousin like this, if sold, she might still help count the money?
