Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 483: 483 don’t worry

”Just make sure the three of them don’t get wronged. Both girls are quite pretty, and I’m afraid someone might have ulterior motives.

Alright, I’m not saying any more. I have to go into the city for a meeting.”

”Okay, don’t worry, dear, with me here, nothing will happen.”

Jiang Xinyu hung up the phone and rushed out in a hurry, feeling a bit embarrassed because after all, the three were all waiting for her.

Both female colleagues sat in the back, and this time it was Fang Xiangxue driving.

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, did Director Ding deliver the garlic and peppers?”

”They were delivered this morning. I already told Wang Ailing to have the couple help me with some work tonight.”

”Sorry for bothering you.”

”It’s a small thing. Being recognized for my skills by a restaurant chef is an honor for me.”

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, my family also loves the chili sauce you make.”

”Once it’s finished, come to my place and get more.”

”I’m not going to be polite about it. I’ve already dried the peppers at home. Didn’t you say you wanted to make chili oil?”

”But that requires oil. If we have time today, we’ll check the building; it’d be great if there’s sunflower oil. It’s the best for making fragrant chili oil.”

”Alright, I also need to buy some things. It’s perfect since you two ladies are here to help me pick out supplies.”

”No problem, but shouldn’t your future wife be the one picking them out? It’s important that she likes them.”

”We’re using them; there’s no need for preference, is there?”

Jiang Xinyu thought to herself that Qian Jun truly is a straight-laced guy. What does that young girl see in him? Is it just because he’s the director of the textile factory?

”Mr. Qian, does the city leadership provide meals?”

”We’ll eat at the government canteen,” Qian Jun replied after thinking for a bit.

”Do you have meal tickets?” Jiang Xinyu asked him.

Qian Jun shook his head, ”I don’t, but we can use food tickets.”

Since the big leader said it, even if there’s no meal, we can hold on.

The four drove straight into the courtyard. It wasn’t even eleven, but Qian Jun still led them directly to find Tao Juncheng.

It’s as if Tao Juncheng is the head of the family.

”Oh ho, did you come over at this hour hoping I’d treat you to a meal?”

Jiang Xinyu held back a smile, she was indeed planning on it.

”Have a seat, the meeting starts at one thirty in the afternoon.”

Jiang Xinyu looked at the time, it was a bit early, but since Qian Jun sat down quietly, she also took a seat on the other side.

”Xiao Jiang, do you know what this meeting is about?”

Something stirred in Jiang Xinyu’s heart. Was he hinting it has something to do with her?

”Secretary Tao, what exactly is it? You’re making me uneasy by asking like this.”

”Haha, it’s a good thing.”

Jiang Xinyu: Go on, then.

Qian Jun also didn’t know the meeting’s content today.

”So, in this meeting, there’s a proposal to promote educated individuals to work in the city. Of course, it starts from the grassroots, but even at the grassroots level, it’s a vice-director level of each section.

Xiao Jiang, do you think this is a good thing?”

Jiang Xinyu felt mixed emotions; this wasn’t a good thing for her, as she had no intention of going into politics.

She organized her thoughts, ”Secretary Tao, this truly is a good thing, but I haven’t thought about it. The textile factory sponsored my university studies. I’ve just come back and haven’t yet contributed to the factory.

Of course, I understand that all work is for serving the people and contributing to society.

However, my greatest passion is still my work at the textile factory.”

Tao Juncheng smiled, watching the candid young woman.

”You don’t have this idea? Actually, this is quite a smooth path.

We have only one female leader in our city. If you were to join, it would be greatly beneficial for you.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled and shook her head, ”I don’t have such an idea.

Secretary Tao, actually, I don’t enjoy scheming in daily life. In the textile factory, Mr. Qian is a generous leader, and he doesn’t doubt me. The work environment is unified.

So, I am reluctant to leave. My achievements today are thanks to the factory nurturing me.”

Tao Juncheng continued to smile, ”Xiao Jiang, you’re still young. In the textile factory, the highest you can go is to be the director, but here, you’d have a larger space for development.

I hope you think it over carefully. Once you’re here, you could provide even better support to the textile factory.”

Jiang Xinyu wasn’t swayed by Tao Juncheng’s words, but she suddenly thought it might be difficult to resign from the factory. Could moving here help her gracefully exit? After all, many people eyed her position.

Tao Juncheng saw Jiang Xinyu lower her head and remain silent, ”Don’t rush; there’s some time. You can go back and consider it slowly. I’m just letting you know in advance.”

Jiang Xinyu looked up and smiled, ”Secretary Tao, I’m afraid I won’t do well and end up embarrassed. Plus, I’m quite direct and might unintentionally offend someone. I’m really not suited for it.”

”Haha, no one is naturally suited for something. As time goes by, you learn. You can’t expect to master something without experience, can you?

Alright, let’s go eat. Do think it over well. It’s a good opportunity.”

Tao Juncheng actually wanted to build good relations with Jiang Xinyu. If he managed to recruit her now, working together in the future would be even smoother because they were already in contact before.

If Jiang Xinyu indeed entered this field, she wouldn’t be as she said. If she became truly capable, he’d have established goodwill.

Tao Juncheng stood up with a smile, with Qian Jun and Jiang Xinyu following him, and the three secretaries were waiting outside.

The cafeteria’s food was quite good; there were three types of staple foods, as well as fish and meat.

Jiang Xinyu and Song Qingqing, the two female colleagues, picked different dishes and sat facing each other, sharing their meals.

After lunch, Secretary Cao arranged rest areas for them, but the four of them declined.

”We’ll stroll around the building; it’s not often we visit the city,” Qian Jun said with a smile.

”Alright, Mr. Qian, Vice Factory Director Jiang, just keep an eye on the time.”

The four of them drove to the building.

”Jiang Xinyu, what do you think I need to buy?”

”Mr. Qian, it’s best if you bring Mr. Gao here. Really, she’s the one who’ll use them, only she knows what she needs. But you could buy her a watch, right?”

”She has one.”

”Then we really don’t know what else to buy. She works at the supply and marketing cooperative; perhaps she’s already planned everything.”

”Is that so?”

”Of course.” Both female colleagues nodded.

”Then I won’t go up; you two go shop.”

”Alright, we’ll be quick, buying only what the supply and marketing cooperative doesn’t have.”

Jiang Xinyu bought five kilos of sunflower oil, and Song Qingqing also got five kilos. They each also bought a plastic bucket. They didn’t buy much else; as women managing households, they’re thrifty with their expenses.
