Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 472: 472 ideas

Kong Demin felt that not being able to have Jiang Xinyu would leave a scar in his heart.

He was quite restless inside, but even though he couldn’t do anything about Jiang Xinyu right now, it didn’t stop him from investigating. He refused to believe that he couldn’t find some issue with her?

Zheng Xiuxiang was at home watching the child, and now she didn’t need to work because Xu Chunhua was there. Although this girl didn’t talk much, she was quite efficient in her work.

The child was to be one month old in another week. Looking at his sleeping son, Kong Demin didn’t suspect a thing; after all, the child’s appearance resembled the Kong Family’s.

However, she knew that even if Kong Demin didn’t want her in the future, she wasn’t afraid. As long as she held on to her son, she wouldn’t fear him. He wouldn’t have any more children in this lifetime, just Changjun and Kong Yaozhong as sons. Changjun was already ruined; he was just a fool.

Zheng Xiuxiang chuckled to herself; she wasn’t a fool either. She knew what Meng Xiu Fen had in mind. It didn’t harm her and could even help her, and that was the best.

Meng Xiu Fen thought she caught her weakness, and that was good. It allowed her to help without suspicion.

In the future, Changjun would have to rely on Yaozhong for support; that’s probably why she allowed herself to have a son.

However, she was still unhappy in her heart. Wasn’t Kong Dehong successful in his matchmaking?

After knowing that Yaozhong was his son, he kept avoiding her as if she were out to get him.

Even if he married and had children, he’d still have Yaozhong on his mind. That’s enough.

Meng Xiu Fen always returned at noon, rarely working in the afternoons. She would retire in a year, so no one supervised her.

Watching Changjun sleep sweetly, she couldn’t help but think repeatedly that this was her retribution. But why did it have to be faced by her child, couldn’t it come directly to her?

After Changjun woke up, Meng Xiu Fen would send him to school. Despite many laughing at him, he would learn more there than at home; it was better.

Returning home, she went directly into Zheng Xiuxiang’s room, where Yaozhong was already awake and nursing.

”The confinement period is almost over, Chunhua has worked well, let’s keep her, and you just focus on the kids.”

”Aunt Meng, thank you. Rest assured, Yaozhong is your son. In the future, he will be filial to you and love his brother Changjun dearly.”

Meng Xiu Fen smiled, ”That’s best. The two brothers must love each other dearly. Otherwise, it would be hard on Yaozhong, still needing to care for Changjun.”

”Aren’t they supposed to, being brothers?”

These words pleased Meng Xiu Fen. ”Xiao Xiang, Demin can’t marry you. I heard recently that he wants to marry that Deputy Director from the textile mill, who’s only two years older than you.”

Zheng Xiuxiang had mentally prepared herself, but hearing the news still brought tears to her eyes.

”Enough, stop crying. If he wants to marry, let him. He won’t have any other children in the future. We mothers and children can live here; you just need to secure Yaozhong.”

”He’ll only have these three children his whole life; he can do whatever he wants outside.”

”Aunt Meng, I’m unwilling. I’ve been with him, but he wants to marry someone else.”

”You can only say this to me, never in front of him.”

”I know, only Aunt Meng is sincere. From now on, it’ll be just us mothers living together.”

”Aunt Meng, it’s not right to always rely on you. Yu Jing is still manageable, but Changjun and Yaozhong will eventually marry, and it’s not enough to rely only on you. I need to go work; with Xu Chunhua at home for a few more years, until all kids go to school, we won’t need help. Then I can earn money, and life will be much easier.”

”What can you do?”

”Anything is possible; I’m willing to do anything for the kids.”

”Alright, I’ll think about it. I’ll retire next year, but with only elementary education, taking over my role might not be easy.”

”Aunt Meng, I can learn, I know the basic words. If you retire, this job goes to waste. Worst case, give me a formal post; I can do manual labor to support the three siblings.”

”In truth, I’m afraid Director Kong will marry and his new wife doesn’t allow us to care for the children; then we’d be living off our savings.”

”Alright, you start learning, I’ll see what I can do. It’s possible for you to work, I can take care of the children, you’re right; we can’t count on Demin. If he does remarry, he won’t care for us.”

Meng Xiu Fen didn’t really want to find Zheng Xiuxiang work, but she was right, three children would require more expenses in the future. Although Kong Demin had given a few thousand, that was unreliable.

Better to let her work; if she leaves, she leaves. She could still raise them.

Zheng Xiuxiang felt reassured hearing these words. She’d been counting on Meng Xiu Fen’s job for a while now. Seems she bet correctly.

Kong Demin didn’t come home for dinner and returned only after ten, bringing several large boxes.

”Keep these well; they’re things I got secretly. Didn’t expect our small town to have good stuff. Today, a big truck took things away, I kept some good ones. Here’s 5000 yuan, keep it for now, don’t deposit it yet, it’s unsafe, find a place to hide it.”

”Alright, it’s all for the kids. And don’t think you’ll take it back from me, you bring them home, they’re for the kids.”

”I know, don’t worry, when there’s good stuff, I’ll bring it home. I trust you to save them for the kids.”

”Also, don’t let Xiao Xiang know about this.”

”I understand, don’t worry. And I agreed to let Xiao Xiang cover my job.”

”That’s fine, she’ll be taking care of the kids more in the future.”

Kong Demin and Meng Xiu Fen hid all the stuff in the cellar under the bedroom. Only then did they enjoy themselves for a bit.

Unsatisfied, Kong Demin said, ”I’m going to Xiao Xiang’s room.”

”Go ahead, she should be out of confinement now.”

Kong Demin entered, seeing Zheng Xiuxiang sleeping sweetly with the baby.

Because of better living conditions, the girl looked fair and tender, showing no signs of rural origins.

He grew increasingly excited, and climbed onto the bed.

Kong Demin didn’t rest for the night. Men got excited easily; with money and goods, he wanted women.

”Demin, I need to feed the child.”

Helpless, Kong Demin released Zheng Xiuxiang, still very fond of his son, who appeared a healthy, normal child.

The next morning, Zheng Xiuxiang directly ended her confinement.

After sending the office workers away, she packed her belongings; last night Kong Demin gave her 100 yuan, she must keep it well.
