Chapter 90: 90 satisfied

”Alright, I’m tired too. I’ll take you out for a spin tomorrow, and we need to see the house and buy it.”

”This is definitely a good investment. But won’t it be unsafe to put it under my name?”

”No worries, it’s safe. We don’t have connections here now.”

Wei Kaiyun left with a smile, but once he got to his room, the smile vanished from his face. He realized he was being too naive, seeing Old Yang’s demeanor made him uneasy.

Since he couldn’t break free, this was the way things had to be. But from now on, things had to go according to his wishes.

It might mean Xinyu has to compromise, and he couldn’t give her anything, but he definitely wouldn’t let her go.

Lying on the bed, feeling extremely exhausted, yet unable to sleep.

The next morning, Jiang Xinyu got up early and changed into her woolen outfit. It felt really comfortable. Standing in front of the mirror, she noticed a slight bulge around her chest, not an easy feat.

She donned the military green coat she made herself. In the mirror, she was indeed quite pretty. Jiang Xinyu narcissistically touched her face.

She heard a knock on the door, knowing it was Wei Kaiyun, she grabbed her bag.

Wei Kaiyun’s eyes lit up seeing Jiang Xinyu’s outfit.

”Not bad. Let’s go, I’ll treat you to a meal.”

”Are you familiar with the Capital?” Her boyfriend’s praise really made her happy.

”Yes, I’ve been here for a few years. Let’s go, I’ll take you to eat delicious food.”

The two got in the car, ”Xinyu, we can’t make our relationship public for now. If they find out about you, you’ll be in danger.”

”I have nothing to do with you.”

”Really nothing to do?” Wei Kaiyun pretended to grab her.

”No, you’re my boyfriend.”

”You know what’s best, let’s go.”

Jiang Xinyu despised her gutless self just now, but what was it about that faint sweetness in her heart?

They went to have wontons. Jiang Xinyu thought they were really delicious, but also expensive, four yuan for two bowls, similar to the prices in later times.

”Where to next?”

”Waiting for a friend, going to buy a house.”

”Did you bring money?”

”Yes, don’t worry, I have money, you should be able to buy three houses.”

”Really?” Even if they weren’t hers, she felt excited nonetheless, she had houses in the Capital.

”Yes, really. They’re all yours. In a while, I won’t speak and you’ll decide for yourself. The money’s in the car.”

”Is that okay?”

”What’s not okay? He’ll be here in a moment.”

While talking, a young man sat next to Wei Kaiyun, he looked quite young.

”Xiao Wei, is this yours?”

”Secretary. The family has some money and wants to buy a house here.”

”Haha, no problem, with Xiao Wei here, the agency fee is halved. Hello comrade, my name is Han Xiangjun.”

”Hello Mr. Han, I’m Jiang Xinyu, nice to meet you.”

”Pleasure’s mine. What type of house are you looking for?”

”Mr. Han, what kinds of houses do you have?”

”Big or small courtyard houses, buildings are all available, just depends on your needs.”

”Mr. Han, when buying a house now, do we get it transferred?”

”Of course, otherwise who would spend money to buy a house?”

”Is there a three-entry courtyard closest to the city gate?”

”Haha, this young lady seems quite knowledgeable. There is, it’s a Prince’s residence, the family members have all gone abroad, only an elder is watching over it. If you want, I can take you to see it.”

”A Prince? No future problems, right? Won’t the authorities take it back later?”

”There’s a possibility of that. To tell you the unpleasant truth, for an average person like you, it’s best not to focus on those big houses, or rather, don’t get too close.”

”Mr. Han, since that’s the case, how much for a regular three-entry courtyard? Two-entry? A courtyard house?”

”The quality of the three-entry houses is fine. Even after twenty or thirty years, they can still be lived in, around eight thousand. The two-entry ones usually go for around four thousand. The courtyard houses are around two thousand.”

”Such a big difference?”

”Not much, you don’t understand this. The three-entry courtyards take up space equivalent to two two-entry ones, almost all are ’three in three out’. Let’s go, talking here won’t make you understand, I’ll take you to see them?”

”Old Han, let’s go to the best courtyard.”

”Got it, since you’re bringing people over, I’ll make sure to show you the best.”

”How did you get here?”

”I knew yesterday you asked me over, so I came by car today.”

”Alright, here, you drive.”

”Okay, let’s go.”

Han Xiangjun drove, about fifteen minutes later they arrived at a three-entry courtyard.

”See that? All five families down this line are selling their houses.”

”Why?”

”Haha.” Han Xiangjun just chuckled.

”Mr. Han, if others are selling, can I buy? Will there be any issues? I’m timid.”

”Don’t worry, as I’ve said, being an ordinary citizen, no one will pay attention to you.”

Jiang Xinyu immediately understood, this is probably for safety?

Han Xiangjun took out the keys. ”These five houses are similar, but this one has the best renovations. Also, their family is the wealthiest, so the house’s quality is the best.”

The three of them entered the courtyard. Jiang Xinyu felt like Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden, it was so beautiful, with pavilions and towers. It seemed uninhabited for a long time, but upon opening the doors, the doors and windows were still solid as ever. The furniture inside remained in great condition.

”Mr. Han, how much does this house cost?”

”The furniture comes included, nine thousand. Just give me five hundred for the agency fee, for others, it wouldn’t be less than a thousand.”

”Alright, I’ll take it.” Earlier in the car, Wei Kaiyun told her there was sixty thousand yuan in the car, all located under the rear seat. She sneaked a peek earlier, it was indeed a big bag.

”Young lady, you’re brave. Are you really taking it?”

”Yes, why joke about such a thing?”

”Alright, let’s go. Since you’re taking it, I’ll take you to meet the owner.”

Han Xiangjun drove them for forty minutes until they stood at a common courtyard entrance.

An elder came out. Jiang Xinyu was stunned, this elder seemed to be a scholar? He looked too elegant.

”Xiao Han, how come you have time to visit?”

”Mr. Xing, I’ve brought the buyer over.”

”Oh?”

”It’s this young lady, she took a fancy to your house at first glance.”

”Haha, do come in.”

Watching his seamless tea-making, Jiang Xinyu felt the disparity.

”Young lady, why do you want to buy a house?”

”Old mister, shall I speak frankly?”

Old Mr. Xing chuckled and nodded.

”I just have a small farmer’s mentality, wanting to live in the Capital, I believe in the future the land in the Capital will be worth a lot.”

”Haha, interesting young lady. I think you’re right.”

”Alright, I’ve sold the house to you. I intended to sell this house to someone with a connection to it,” the elder said with a smile.

”Thank you, Old Mr. Xing. I promise to cherish this house deeply.”
