Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 63: 63 work

”Xinyu, I can stand, we haven’t met since you started working here. It’s rare for the three of us to meet today, shall we chat for a bit?”

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”I don’t have much time, still got work to do.”

”Alright, can’t delay your work. Xinyu, which dorm are you staying at?”

”I don’t stay in the dorms, sorry I have to leave now.” After saying this, she hurriedly left the cafeteria with her lunchbox.

Is this leading lady just trying to grab attention? I don’t want to give her a chance.

We’ll be working together from now on, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to meet, I really don’t want to get involved with her.

Went over to the water tap for washing, rinsed the lunchbox, shaking it as she walked.

Seeing Wei Kaiyun still at work. ”Director Wei, it’s time for lunch, mixed flour steamed buns, shredded radish shrimp soup.”

”Secretary Jiang, could you bring it back for me? I want three buns and two ladles of soup.”

Jiang Xinyu took the lunchbox Wei Kaiyun handed over, turned around, and left.

Jiang Xinyu entered the cafeteria for the second time. At this point, Kong Mengjie was having a meal with a male colleague at a table. Jiang Xinyu pretended not to see and left after getting food.

She didn’t notice Kong Mengjie’s expression trying to call her over.

After work in the evening, Jiang Xinyu went home to warm the bed. Otherwise, it was too cold, reminded of the water-heated electric blanket she saw in her past life but was quickly disheartened, those pipes weren’t available.

Now the room isn’t cold, but the bed is. Anyway, there’s never a comfortable moment. Steaming rice, not going to drain it.

Just soaked the rice, and the door knocked again.

Is Wei Kaiyun really latching onto her? But this time Jiang Xinyu guessed wrong.

”Master Yang?”

”Little girl, here’s five pounds of meat and two portions of small intestines, all cleaned up. This bag contains starch; you can make them into sausage, we’ll split it half and half.”

”No need, I can just help out.”

”If you don’t want to, I’ll take them back.”

”Fine, leave it to me, come and pick it up tomorrow morning.”

”No rush.”

”No problem, I have to keep the fire going anyway. It’s getting late, I won’t invite you in.”

”What time do you start work tomorrow?”

”Leaving at six-thirty in the morning.”

”I’ll be here at six.”

”Okay, alright.”

Jiang Xinyu carried two burlap bags into the main room.

Taking out the intestines, they were really clean.

Old Yang is really resourceful. Able to get such things.

Pounding the meat, then busy until eleven at night, finally the two big pots of sausage were cooked.

Jiang Xinyu washed her hands and face, lay down on the bed to sleep, tonight was a lot better, the bedding was quite warm.

Ten minutes to six, Jiang Xinyu got up and tidied up the house. After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she heard a knock on the door.

”Master Yang, please come in.”

”Sorry to disturb, little girl.”

”Master Yang, I’m getting benefits too. What container will you use to take it?”

”Just use the burlap bag, it’s clean.”

”Okay, there are two pots here.”

”I’ll take half. Little girl, you added quite a lot, right?”

”Yes, I added ten extra pounds of starch.”

”Haha, Xiao Jiang you’re honest. In the future, Brother Yang shouldn’t trouble you too much.”

”As long as I can do it, no problem.”

Old Yang really only took half, Jiang Xinyu wanted to give more, but he wouldn’t take it.

After sending off Old Yang, Jiang Xinyu packed two sections into the lunchbox, which was for Wei Kaiyun to eat, herself going to eat at the cafeteria, not comfortable eating this there.

Before lunch, Jiang Xinyu gave the sausage to Wei Kaiyun, surprising him a bit.

”Old Yang asked me to make this last night, we split it in half, brought two sections for you to taste.”

”Thank you, Jiang Xinyu.”

”Do you still need me to get lunch for you?”

”No need, Qian Jun is here today.”

”By the way, there’s a meeting in the factory this afternoon, you should attend.”

Today during lunch, Kong Mengjie occupied a spot, inviting Wang Ailing and the other two over.

Today there’s no avoiding it, the three just started eating, and that male colleague came over as well, sat next to Kong Mengjie, smiled at the two of them.

Both nodded and lowered their heads to eat, Jiang Xinyu felt a bit dissatisfied.

”Xinyu, this is our group’s leader Zhao Zhongshuo.” Kong Mengjie awkwardly introduced the two of them, internally blaming Zhao Zhongshuo, why did you come over?

”Hello, I’m Kong Mengjie’s boyfriend.”

Jiang Xinyu put down her chopsticks, smiled at the two, nudged Wang Ailing, who was eating with her head down.

”Did we two bother you? We won’t tomorrow.”

Wang Ailing swallowed her food, nodded. ”Right, Mengjie, tomorrow you don’t need to call the two of us, don’t let us hold you up.”

”No, definitely not, we’re sisters from the same village, how can there be any impact or delay?”

Neither said anything, continued eating with their heads down.

The atmosphere became a bit awkward. Kong Mengjie glanced at Zhao Zhongshuo aggrievedly, Jiang Xinyu happened to see it, feeling goosebumps rising, that look was way too sappy.

”Since you two are from the same village as Mengjie, don’t misinterpret her good intentions. It’s a busy time for meals, tables are hard to find.”

Jiang Xinyu finished her soup, saw Wang Ailing finished eating as well, smiled at Kong Mengjie, ”You don’t need to have such goodwill towards me in the future.”

”Yeah, me too.”

Kong Mengjie’s face went ghostly pale. Zhao Zhongshuo angrily glared at the two of them, ”Ungrateful.”

Jiang Xinyu didn’t even give him a glance. The two stood up and left. This table seemed like it belonged to him.

This was Wang Ailing’s husband in a past life, ”Sis, what do you think of Zhao Zhongshuo?”

”Dislike? Too much of a poser.”

Listening to Wang Ailing’s words, Jiang Xinyu felt relieved. Thinking both of them were on a completely different path than in the past life.

”Sis, I’ll get food and eat at home tomorrow. Seeing them all the time, I’m afraid I’ll get indigestion.”

”Yeah, I’ll eat at home too.”

”On break days, come to my place, there’s sausage to eat.”

Wang Ailing was certainly happy, ”Xinyu, you’re so good to me.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled, then left.

The afternoon meeting was about confirming the regular employees.

Jiang Xinyu thought it would be pre-determined, but from today’s meeting, she realized she was being cynical, overly conspiratorial. People were really discussing the candidates.

Jiang Xinyu listened intently, planning to talk to Wang Ailing about it. Since she came here to work, if she could become regular, that would be the best.

The meeting lasted one and a half hours, finally confirming the list of regular employees.

”Director Wei, our dormitory is really tight right now, there are many young people getting married who want to apply for dormitory space.”

”Dormitories must prioritize the single workers. We don’t have the capacity to provide housing for families right now.”

”But there are too many applications, and people are privately discussing this issue, emotions are a bit high.”

”Emotions high? Anyone agitated should go home to calm down. When they’re settled, they can come back to work.”

”Director Wei, isn’t that approach a bit off?”
