NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

Shenron lifted one hand in a short wave toward his sister as the gate finished opening.

”Don’t cause any trouble. Although it will be inevitable.”

Kessa stopped and looked back at him, ears angled.

”You aren’t coming?”

”I can’t abandon my post. How long will you be staying?”

”A week.”

”See our parents first.”

She nodded once. Shenron’s red eyes shifted to Kane.

”Don’t react. This is the beast world. Everything will be extreme.”

Kane met the stare and gave a single nod. No more words were needed.

Shenron turned and walked back toward the outer paths he still controlled. The gate began to close behind the three who remained.

Kane, Kessa, and Griselda stepped fully into Berakamon.

The difference from any elven or human border town hit at once.

Sylvander had functioned as a hub: trade, talk, careful diplomacy under polished walls.

This place existed to keep the rest of the world out.

The wide central avenue ran between timber-and-stone buildings that looked grown as much as built.

Open stables lined both sides, packed with animals that were not entirely animals anymore: massive horned things with too many eyes, scaled packs that paced on thick chains. These feathered predators watched the street with intelligent hatred.

Beastmen moved between the pens without fear.

Some fought in open circles, claws and teeth flashing, while others stood and watched until blood hit the dirt.

Near a long butcher’s block, a towering male with the head of a bull and arms thicker than most men’s waists cleavered raw haunches from a carcass and tossed the steaming meat into a waiting crowd of lesser kin who tore into it without waiting for it to cool.

Every pair of eyes on the street fixed on the newcomers.

Kessa smiled as if she had simply come home after a long trip.

Griselda’s expression stayed blank, yellow eyes cataloguing threats and exits.

Kane kept his pace even, Mjoldr riding high on his back.

The axe alone was enough to hold most of the closer stares at a distance.

A few braver beastmen still drifted near, nostrils flaring as they caught Griselda’s scent, something clean and wrong for this place.

One lean female with fox markings leaned in close enough to inhale openly before Kessa’s tail lashed once and the foxkin drifted away again.

Those who recognized Kessa called short greetings, rough jokes about how long she had been gone, questions about whether she had brought back better weapons or just a new scar.

None of them spoke to Kane. The red-haired barbarian carrying an axe was noted, measured, and left alone for the moment.

They found a solid three-story building with a painted sign showing a cracked tusk and a bed.

Kane pushed the door open and stepped into a low common room that smelled of smoke, spilled wine, and old fur.

A half-sheep woman stood behind a rough counter, woolly white hair falling around a face that mixed human softness with the flat set of an ewe’s eyes.

She looked up as they approached.

Kane rested one hand on the counter.

”A room. For three people.”

The half-sheep’s gaze moved over him, then Kessa, then the wings behind Griselda. She named the price without blinking.

”That’ll be thirty gold.”

”Expensive.”

”If not, go away.”

Kane dug the coins from a pouch, counted them once, and tossed the stack onto the wood hard enough to make several pieces bounce.

”Better be big enough to fuck all night.”

The half-sheep’s face folded into a clear frown.

She swept the gold into a drawer, pulled an iron key from a board behind her, and set it on the counter with more force than necessary.

”Second floor. End of the hall. Try not to break the bed. Replacements cost extra.”

Kane took the key.

Kessa was already smiling again.

Griselda simply turned toward the stairs.

They climbed without further conversation. The corridor above was narrow and dim, lit by a single oil lamp. The room at the end matched the price in size if not in comfort: one wide bed, a smaller cot against the wall, a shuttered window that looked out over the central avenue, and a wash basin that had seen better years.

Kane dropped his pack and set Mjoldr within easy reach of the bed.

Kessa stretched until her spine popped, then moved to the window and pushed the shutters open just enough to watch the street.

Griselda claimed the corner nearest the door, wings folding tight, already settling into the watchful stillness she preferred in new places.

Outside, on the opposite side of the avenue, a woman in a simple robe stood perfectly still among the flow of beastkin traffic.

Long black hair fell past her waist. Amber eyes tracked the second-floor window without urgency or attempt to hide.

She had seen the red-haired human enter. She had watched him pay for the room and heard the crude remark that made the half-sheep frown. She had noted the tiger-striped female who walked beside him like a claimed mate and the dark-winged one who never quite relaxed.

Marisa of Berakamon, sister to the emperor, kept her place in the street and simply observed.

Inside the room, Kessa closed the shutters again and turned.

”She’s already watching,” she said quietly.

”I caught the scent the moment we stepped into the avenue. Marisa does not stand in the open unless she wants to be seen.”

Kane sat on the edge of the wide bed and began unlacing his boots.

”Then she already knows we are here. That saves time.”

Griselda’s yellow eyes opened fully.

”She will report to Grathak before nightfall. Or she will come herself.”

Kessa dropped onto the bed beside Kane, striped tail curling across his thigh.

”Either way, the quiet part of the visit is over. Shenron was right. Everything here runs hotter and harder than the outer settlements. If you flinch, they will push. If you push back too hard, they will decide you are a challenge instead of a guest.”
