NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

Kane, Kessa, and Griselda took a short detour to a clear stream that cut through the trees not far from the sparring clearing.

They washed the dirt, blood, and sweat from their skin and weapons in silence. Kessa scrubbed the remaining fluid of the earlier mutant from her claws.

Griselda rinsed her wings with efficient motions. Kane cleaned Mjoldr until the axe head shone again under the filtered light. When they finished, they caught up to Shenron, who had waited on the path without comment.

The four of them walked into the deeper forest.

For a full hour no one spoke.

Shenron led with the easy certainty of someone who had traveled these routes since childhood.

The trees grew taller, the undergrowth thicker, the light greener. Kessa ranged a little ahead or to the side at times, then returned.

Griselda took short flights when the canopy opened, scouting, then dropped back to walk.

Kane kept pace in the center, Mjoldr resting against his shoulder, the heat of the Berserker Rage long gone.

Shenron broke the silence first.

”Were other empires willing to whatever plan you are having?”

Kane glanced at the taller male’s back.

”I plan to unite all empires to fight against the devils. I took over Menual.”

A small change showed in Shenron’s red eyes when he looked back over his shoulder.

Interest.

Or calculation.

”You killed its emperor?”

”Yes. Inside his palace. On his throne.”

”And the people followed?”

”Let’s just say Morvak wasn’t that good of a ruler.”

Shenron faced forward again. His voice shifted, lower, more deliberate.

”Grathak is different. He’s a tyrant, yes, but he controls his people by giving them pleasure. He lets them invade villages and take women whenever they want. He puts no chains on their activities. All he has ever needed is to keep them in the palm of his hand, and they stay willing. If a barbarian walks in, takes over, and starts imposing his own rules, then you should expect anger and death. Not from him alone. From every pack that likes the freedom he gives them.”

Kane nodded once.

”I will take care.”

The path continued without further challenge.

Shenron knew the clear routes, the ones that avoided the dens of restless mutants and the territorial markers of the more aggressive packs. No new threats showed themselves.

The forest simply watched.

Kessa grew restless with the quiet.

She jumped from root to root at times, then, without warning, vaulted up onto Kane’s shoulders. Her striped thighs settled on either side of his neck, hands resting lightly on his head for balance as she peered ahead through the trees.

”I can almost see the upper walls from here,” she said.

”They raised them again since I left.”

Kane adjusted his grip on her calves to keep her steady.

”Comfortable?”

”Very. You make a good lookout post.”

Griselda took another short flight, wings carrying her above the canopy for a clearer view, then descended in a controlled glide to report.

”No patrols on the immediate approach. Two guards at the main outer gate. Centaur form.”

Kane filed the information.

He had seen similar shapes in the old game data, horse below, humanoid above, the kind of hybrid that served as heavy border watchers in the deeper Beastworld settlements.

The Narnia stories of his original world had called them centaurs.

Here they were simply another of Grathak’s men.

The trees thinned. The path widened into a packed-earth road marked by old stone posts.

Ahead, the walls of the true border settlement rose, thick timber and black stone, taller than the outer palisades they had left behind, topped with platforms for archers and lookouts.

Smoke from many fires drifted above the battlements. The sound of a living, crowded place reached them even at this distance.

Two figures stood before the main gate.

Their lower bodies were the powerful frames of warhorses, dark coats, muscled haunches, hooves that had worn shallow depressions in the earth from long hours of standing.

From the waist up, they were broad-chested men with mixed features, human enough to speak clearly, beast enough to show it in the set of their jaws and the flatness of their stares.

Both carried long spears and wore light armor that left their arms free.

The nearer one straightened as the group approached.

”...Shenron.”

The greeting was respectful. Then the guard’s eyes landed on Kane and narrowed at once.

”A barbarian...” He sneered, lips pulling back from teeth that were a little too sharp.

”You bring human filth to the gate now?”

The second guard had been watching Kessa.

When she dropped lightly from Kane’s shoulders and the full group came into clear view, his expression shifted. Recognition flickered first.

”You are back.”

His gaze dropped to the strip of exposed stomach between Kessa’s wrap and the low belt of her gear, lingering with open interest. Then it moved to Griselda.

The dark wings, the pale skin, the yellow eyes, something hungry and unrestrained entered his face. A thin line of drool gathered at the corner of his mouth before he caught himself and wiped it away with the back of one hand.

Shenron stepped forward, placing himself slightly ahead of the others.

”He’s under my escort as far as the marker stones. After that, he answers to the emperor’s law, not mine. Open the gate.”

The first centaur guard didn’t move immediately. His sneer stayed fixed on Kane.

”Grathak’s law says humans who cross without invitation become property. Or meat. Sometimes both. You sure you want to stand in front of that, Shenron?”

Kessa’s ears angled forward. Her voice stayed light, but the edge underneath was unmistakable.

”Open the gate before I decide to remind you what happened the last time you stared at me too long.”

The second guard laughed, low and rough, though his eyes were still on Griselda’s wings.

”Still sharp-tongued. We missed that. The packs will be glad to see you home. Some of them more than others.”

Shenron’s red eyes hardened.

”The gate.”

The first centaur held Kane’s stare for another long moment, then snorted and stepped aside. The second followed with clear reluctance. Heavy wooden beams were drawn back.

The gate opened inward on well-oiled hinges, revealing a wide central avenue lined with more timber structures, open workshops, and beastkin of every stripe and build.

The smell of the place rolled out to meet them: smoke, animal musk, cooked meat, and the underlying scent of a population that lived without the restraints common in human or elven cities.
