NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

They lay there for a while longer, the heat between them slowly cooling in the cave air.

Kessa’s striped body stayed draped half across his, tail still loosely curled near his hip.

Eventually Kane stirred.

He eased her off him, gathered a spare cloth, and the two of them left the cave in the dark.

A narrow lake sat only a short walk downslope, black and still under the canopy.

They washed in silence at first, cold water sluicing away sweat and seed.

Kessa dunked her head completely, then came up shaking droplets from her hair and ears.

Kane scrubbed the last traces of the fight and the fuck from his skin, then rinsed Mjoldr’s head clean in the shallows.

Dark wings cut the air overhead.

Griselda dropped lightly onto the bank, face carefully indifferent, yellow eyes reflecting the faint moonlight.

She didn’t comment on the scent that still clung to the cave or the two of them.

Kessa flicked water from her fingers and nudged the fallen angel’s arm with a casual elbow.

”You can join.”

Griselda didn’t reply. She simply stood there, wings half-mantled, expression unreadable.

Kane’s gaze moved over her.

He had claimed Griselda a long time ago, bought her contract, pulled her out of the situation that had broken her wings and her old loyalties, yet he had never taken her to bed.

In a life that had filled itself with elves, humans, beastwomen, and ranked warriors who demanded nights as prizes, she remained the quiet exception.

It was strange. Almost heartwarming, in a twisted way. At least one woman in his immediate circle had never tasted his cock.

Griselda met his eyes.

”Should I prepare myself?”

”No need,” Kane said. ”You are safe. For now.”

She nodded once, accepting the boundary without argument, and turned back toward the cave.

The three of them returned together. The low banked fire still gave off thin heat. They settled around it, Kane with his back to the stone, Mjoldr across his knees. Kessa stretched out with her head near his thigh. Griselda sat closer to the entrance, wings folded tight.

Kane didn’t sleep.

He kept his breathing even and his eyes half-lidded, but every sense stayed open.

The forest beyond the cave mouth was not empty. Multiple creatures circled at a distance: heavy footfalls, the occasional low grunt, the soft crack of a branch under something large.

None of them came close enough to test the entrance. The Empress’s mark sat quiet but alert under his skin, feeding him the faint edge of hostile intent without ever rising to full alarm.

Kessa broke the silence first, voice low.

”About Grathak...”

”You don’t have to say anything,” Kane answered.

”He’s a beast. I will treat him like one.”

”But he’s also smart. I mentioned, right? His sister.”

Kane nodded.

”Should we pull her to our side then?”

Kessa gave a short, humorless breath.

”If only it were that easy. The thing is, Grathak likes his sister too much.”

Griselda’s voice came quietly from the entrance.

”It’s normal.”

”It is,” Kessa agreed. ”But he wants to breed her.”

Huh?

Kane chuckled under his breath.

Of course the situation turned that direction the moment family entered the conversation.

Beastworld logic never stayed simple for long. Then the next piece landed and surprised him.

”He didn’t force himself on her?”

Kessa shook her head against his leg.

”He respects her deeply. If she accepts it, then he can. Until she does, he waits. That’s the only leash anyone has ever put on him.”

That was more comforting than Kane had expected.

A warlord who could bite the head off an emperor at fifteen yet still refused to force his own sister was a rarer creature than most of the monsters in these trees.

The rest of the night passed without incident. The circling beasts eventually drifted farther out. Griselda dozed lightly with one eye half-open. Kessa slept harder, the edge of her heat finally burned off.

Kane stayed awake until the first thin light filtered through the canopy, then rose and woke the other two with a quiet word.

They broke camp quickly—no fire to bury this time.

Just the last of the deer packed away and Mjoldr settled back across Kane’s shoulder.

The deeper forest met them with heavier air and thicker undergrowth.

Before midday they encountered the first of the river beasts, broad, hippo-like creatures with armored hides and tusks longer than a man’s arm.

Three of them blocked a shallow ford, territorial and loud. Kane did not engage.

Kessa spoke to them in a low series of clicks and growls that belonged to the Beastworld more than to any human tongue.

The largest of the three snorted, eyed Kane and Griselda with clear distrust, then lumbered aside just enough to open a path. The other two followed. Water closed over the tracks almost immediately.

Two more groups of the same beasts appeared later in the afternoon.

Each time, Kessa handled the contact.

Each time, the creatures allowed passage after a short exchange that smelled of dominance and reluctant recognition. Kane kept Mjoldr ready but never raised it.

Griselda stayed high when the trees allowed, watching for anything that might decide the three travelers looked like easier prey than the river beasts.

By late evening the canopy began to thin. Smoke from cooking fires and the distant sound of voices reached them on the breeze. Kessa’s ears perked fully. Her pace increased without her seeming to notice.

”Outer settlement,” she said. ”My brother’s post is on the east side, near the timber racks.”

They stepped out of the true deep forest into a wide clearing ringed by sturdy wooden palisades.

Beastkin of several stripes and builds moved between longhouses and open workshops. Some carried tools.

Others carried weapons.

A few stopped to stare at the red-haired human and the dark-winged woman walking beside one of their own.

Kessa led them straight toward a broad timber structure near the eastern wall.

Kane kept his expression neutral and his grip on Mjoldr casual.

Griselda’s wings remained tightly folded, yellow eyes taking in every exit and every potential threat.

A tall male tiger-striped beastkin stepped out of the structure as they approached.

He was broader than Kessa, older by several years, with a deep scar running from temple to jaw. His eyes locked on Kessa first, then flicked to Kane and Griselda with open calculation.

Kessa’s smile was genuine.

”Brother,” she called.

”I’m home. And I brought company.”
