Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

”Lu Yuan, have you noticed? Ever since we landed, this planet has been quiet. Quiet to an abnormal degree.”

Jiang Ningxian’s voice rang out. She looked around with an extremely grave expression.

From the very beginning, she had sensed that something really off about this place. At first, she had thought she was overthinking it, but now, that feeling had only grown stronger.

As she had just said, this place was too quiet. There was not even the slightest sound.

This was a planet capable of sustaining life, and every condition here was highly suitable for living beings. It was nothing like the uninhabited planets they had seen before.

That was why the situation was indeed abnormal. No matter what, there should have been some movement.

Beside her, Lu Yuan frowned slightly. He had been thinking about other matters earlier and had not noticed. But now, after hearing what she said, he realized too that it was exactly as Jiang Ningxian had said.

It was too quiet.

He said nothing and released his divine sense, drawing everything around him into his perception.

Soon, Lu Yuan opened his eyes, his expression shifting slightly. ”It’s indeed as you said. There’s a problem with this planet.”

”What do we do next?” Jiang Ningxian asked. Even if there was a problem, it had little to do with her, but with the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons in the Thunderflash Starfield, she did not dare to be careless.

What if they had laid an ambush here?

”This planet is not large. We... should take a look,” Lu Yuan said, feeling it was necessary to investigate.

Originally, they had another goal as well. They wanted to see exactly what the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were planning.

Although they still could not be certain whether the current state of this place was related to them, there was no harm in looking. It would only delay them a little and would not have much of an impact.

Jiang Ningxian nodded in agreement. She glanced at her brother and the clan members who were recovering, but did not inform them. Instead, she went ahead with Lu Yuan.

This planet was not large. Everyone present was above the Immortal Realm, so even if they encountered danger, the others could gather quickly.

Under such circumstances, they did not need to be overly cautious. The two of them venturing off to explore was enough.

Lu Yuan and Jiang Ningxian stepped into the void and flew forward, constantly sweeping the land below with divine sense.

This place was indeed similar to Earth, with forests, great mountains, and rivers. It satisfied almost every condition for human survival. The problem was that from beginning to end, the two of them did not see a single living creature.

It was just too strange.

”This will not work. It will waste too much time.”

Before long, Lu Yuan stopped, his gaze solemn.

He had indeed discovered the problem and confirmed that life had definitely existed here. But for some reason, it had suddenly disappeared. What he could not determine was whether only some beings had vanished, or all of them.

Therefore, he had to investigate the entire planet.

Lu Yuan did not hesitate. He steadied himself and closed his eyes. In the next instant, an invisible power spread outward with him at the center, expanding in all directions and swiftly covering the entire planet.

He was now at the Creation Immortal Realm. Covering a planet with his divine sense was easy enough. Moreover, all Lu Yuan needed to do was check whether any living creatures remained, which was even simpler.

Before long, he opened his eyes and withdrew his divine sense, brows drawing together.

”How is it?” Jiang Ningxian asked.

”I found some living beings, but they are very strange.” Lu Yuan spoke, his tone laced with uncertainty.

In his perception, those were indeed living beings. The problem was that they were entirely different from any existence he knew.

In the end, Lu Yuan made a decision. He had to go and take a look. Of course, before that, he asked Jiang Ningxian to notify Jiang Haokong and the others so they could follow.

Lu Yuan had already sensed a certain danger, so everyone needed to gather together. Even he could not see through the beings he had sensed with his divine sense.

Perhaps this was also the fundamental reason no ordinary life remained here.

Soon enough, everyone gathered again. Then they headed straight into the distance.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, a huge black altar stood like a mountain. It was vast and majestic, constantly emitting an indescribable power.

If one observed carefully, one would discover that black had not been the altar’s original color. It had become this way because too much blood had been poured over it.

It was exceptionally terrifying.

Volcanoes surrounded it, constantly erupting with magma.

Rumble.

Thunder rang out.

Immediately after, a man with wings on his back appeared. He stood beneath the altar, his words filled with reverence. ”My lord, all beings of this planet have been sacrificed. We did not miss a single one.”

This was a Celestial. Lightning coiled around him, but the aura he emitted was strange, as if something had corrupted him.

”It took this long?”

Soon, a voice came from the altar. It was hoarse and carried a strange power that could shake the soul.

A figure, shrouded entirely in black mist, walked out from the altar at the same time.

”The beings of several consecutive planets have only allowed me to recover less than fifty percent of my strength. It seems I still need to continue. Otherwise, sooner or later, problems will arise on the Celestial Star.”

From his words, he had already sacrificed the beings of several planets to recover his strength.

The Celestial not only had no objection to this, but after hearing those words, he became even more respectful. ”Please rest assured, my lord. The beings of the next planet have long been prepared for you. You may go there at any time.”

”Good,” the figure spoke, seemingly very satisfied.

However, in the next moment, he seemed to sense something and continued, ”Someone’s here. I don’t wish to act right now. Stop them.”

After saying this, the figure transformed into a streak of black light and vanished from where he stood.

In the next moment, cracks appeared across the black altar. It seemed that without his power supporting it, it was about to collapse.

After hearing those words, the Celestial’s brows furrowed together.

Saying nothing more, he turned and looked in a certain direction.

He sensed it as well. Someone was approaching from that direction, and their realms and strength were not low.

Even so, the Celestial did not care at all. He merely stood where he was and waited quietly.

However, as the auras drew closer, he discovered that the intruders seemed to be very powerful.
