Super Gene Hunting Ground

War General Wanyan Kang returned to his manor, and from a distance, saw the butler standing at the door anxiously waiting.

The butler, seeing the master return, quickly ran over.

”Master, you’ve returned!”

”Butler, what’s going on today? Why are you waiting at the door for me, is there something wrong?”

The butler looked around and whispered in Wanyan Kang’s ear:

”Master, the Prince has come, he’s in the hall drinking tea and waiting for you.”

”Ah?”

Wanyan Kang looked at the butler in surprise.

More than ten years ago, Wanyan Kang had privately formed a loose alliance with the Second Prince, and hence had no dealings with the Prince.

This was the first time the Prince had proactively visited Wanyan Kang’s manor.

Wanyan Kang paused momentarily, regaining his composure, and asked the butler:

”Why has he come?”

”The Prince didn’t say, and I didn’t dare ask. After all, he’s the Prince and currently the Emperor’s favored successor, it’s not like I could ask him to leave, right?”

Wanyan Kang remained silent.

”Master, if you don’t want to see him, you don’t have to return to the manor. I can say you had urgent business outside and won’t be back today.”

Wanyan Kang hesitated before saying:

”Since he dares to come to my home, why would I be afraid to meet him? Nonsense, I will see him! I want to see what tricks he has up his sleeve, let’s go.”

With that, Wanyan Kang strode into the manor.

Prince Wanyan He was in the hall drinking tea, with two maids and two guards standing inside.

”Ah, Prince, what brings you here? A rare guest indeed, a distinguished guest illuminating my humble abode!”

Wanyan Kang smiled broadly as he walked in from outside.

Wanyan He put down his teacup and quickly stood up.

”Uncle Kang, I was just passing by the Prince Manor, thinking I haven’t visited your home in over ten years, so I specifically came to sit for a while. You wouldn’t mind, would you?”

”Haha, listen to what His Highness says, you are a distinguished guest, I couldn’t invite you even if I tried. I’m delighted you’ve come, Butler, tell the kitchen to prepare a banquet of the highest standards to entertain the Prince.”

”Yes!”

The butler glanced at the Prince and turned to leave.

Wanyan He smiled lightly,

”Uncle Kang, you’re too kind, I just came by to sit for a bit. Oh, I have a few words I’d like to discuss with you privately.”

Wanyan Kang nodded and waved the guards and maids out of the hall.

Wanyan Kang looked at the Prince,

”Your Highness, whatever you want to say, I’m all ears.”

Wanyan He stood up and bowed deeply to Wanyan Kang.

Wanyan Kang was startled, quickly stood up, and supported the Prince with both hands,

”Your Highness, what are you doing? You are a Prince, this is too much for an old minister like me, I can’t bear this!”

The Prince straightened his posture, raised his head, and looked at Wanyan Kang, speaking with great respect:

”In terms of seniority, you are my uncle. A nephew greeting his uncle is only proper.”

”This, haha...”

Wanyan Kang laughed happily and quickly said:

”Your Highness, please sit, I appreciate your kind gesture.”

Wanyan Kang personally poured a full cup of tea for the Prince.

”Please have some tea!”

The Prince picked up the teacup, took a small sip,

”Mm, good tea. A few days ago, Father awarded me some excellent Cloud Mist Snow Peak Tea, which I haven’t had the heart to drink. Today, I’ll make a favorable gesture and give it to Uncle Kang.”

As he spoke, the Prince took out a small green box from his Space Ring and placed it on Wanyan Kang’s tea table.

Wanyan Kang froze momentarily, looking at the Prince.

This Cloud Mist Snow Peak Tea is a premium tea, grown on snowy mountain peaks, a very special cold-resistant variety, rare and dangerous. It is extremely beneficial for assisting the cultivation of Ice Element Technique.

Due to its scarcity, even the Flying Leopard Emperor receives very little each year, only enough to be distributed to the closest subordinates and Princes.

The Flying Leopard Emperor had previously awarded two boxes to Wanyan Kang, who understood the value of this mountain snow peak tea.

”Haha, Your Highness, how could I possibly accept this? This is an award from the Emperor to you, how can I take it?”

”Uncle Kang, I came to your house empty-handed. Besides, it’s not like you lack anything, just a small gesture, it would be embarrassing to come without anything!”

Wanyan Kang no longer declined,

”Since His Highness insists, it would seem distant if I refused, alright, I will accept the tea, thank you.”

The Prince, seeing Wanyan Kang accept the tea, felt relieved and said:

”Uncle Kang, I’ve been secluded in Flying Leopard Academy for years cultivating and didn’t have time to visit your manor. Don’t feel distant with me.”

”Where does His Highness speak these words? You are noble and esteemed; I am honored to be associated with you.”

”Uncle Kang, don’t say that. Father often tells me you are the Imperial’s top War General, and you’ve accomplished much for the Imperial. He urges me to respect and be close to you. Uncle Kang, if you don’t mind, I plan to visit you more in the future.”

”Haha, you’re welcome, you’re welcome, I would wish for nothing more.”

”If I misstep in any way in the future, please advise, Uncle Kang.”

”His Highness is too kind, I am just an old man, at most with some experience, I can assist His Highness but dare not advise.”

”Haha....”

The Prince and Wanyan Kang continued chatting for half an hour, with flattering exchanges that Wanyan Kang greatly enjoyed.

”Uncle Kang, I still have matters to attend to, I must take my leave now. I will visit you again soon.”

”Your Highness, stay for a meal?”

”Next time, I really must handle some matters today. I’ll surely be back often, even just for the meals, haha!”

”Alright, I won’t force it; I’ll see you off.”

Wanyan Kang escorted the Prince to the door.

”Uncle Kang, please stay, I’m leaving.”

”Alright, Your Highness, take care, I bid You farewell!”

...

Watching the Prince leave, Wanyan Kang breathed a long sigh of relief.

The butler standing behind him quietly asked:

”Master, the Prince left without dining?”

”He wasn’t here for a meal.”

”Then why?”

”Ah, I’ve lived all these years to no avail, the Prince is truly unfathomable and inspiring.”

”Ah? Master, why did the Prince suddenly visit you?”

”Haha, what do you think?”

”The Prince was here to make a good impression, seeking your assistance.”

”That’s essentially it.”

”But aren’t we allied with the Second Prince?”

”Butler, remember, starting today, whether it’s the Second Prince or the Prince, we do not meddle in their affairs. They can fight as they wish; we’ll just watch the show.”

”Ah? If the Prince seizes the throne, will he turn against us?”

”Haha, if you were the Prince, would you act against an old minister of Emperor Level Realm?”

”No, I wouldn’t dare! Given your position, even the Flying Leopard Emperor must show respect. But Master, why did you say the Prince is unfathomable?”

Wanyan Kang looked up at the sky and spoke softly:

”For decades, you suppress someone, collaborating with others to oppose him everywhere, yet he comes to your home with a smiling face, respectful and humble. Is such a person not intimidating?”

”Are you referring to the Prince?”

”Given his favored status before the Emperor, yet still humble and downcast before us, just this alone makes him far superior to the Second Prince,

I suspect the Prince is going to move against the Second Prince.”

”Ah?”

”From now on, close the doors to visitors, just say I’m in seclusion for cultivation, not seeing anyone unless summoned by the Emperor.”

”Not even the Second Prince?”

”Not see him!”
