Super Gene Hunting Ground

Flying Leopard Empire Palace.

In the morning, the Flying Leopard Emperor presided over a meeting to handle some matters of the Empire. After the meeting ended, the officials dispersed.

Wanyan Kang was about to take his leave when the Flying Leopard Emperor called out to him.

”Brother Kang, stay a moment, I have something to discuss with you.”

Wanyan Kang was taken aback and had to stay seated.

The Eldest Prince, Wanyan He, glanced at Wanyan Kang and got up to leave.

The Second Prince hesitated for a moment and then also left.

In the end, the vast hall of the court was left with only the Emperor, Wanyan Kang, and a dozen guards and palace maids.

The Flying Leopard Emperor waved his hand to the guards, and all the guards and maids left the hall, closing the door as they went.

Wanyan Kang chuckled,

”Your Majesty, what do you wish to inquire about?”

The Flying Leopard Emperor stroked his white beard, looked at Wanyan Kang, and said calmly:

”Recently, Wentian City has not been very peaceful. Several of the Eldest Prince’s close guards have been assassinated one after another. Are you aware?”

Wanyan was surprised, and said:

”The Eldest Prince has recently received your favor, and there are rumors in and out of the court that you wish to pass the throne to him. You know, in any Empire, the contention for the heir to the throne is extremely fierce, even brutal.

The people around the Eldest Prince have been killed continuously, I speculate it is related to this.”

”Hmm, your analysis is quite right, I thought the same. Brother Kang, as the Empire’s first War General, who do you think would be a more suitable heir to the throne in the future?”

Wanyan Kang hurriedly bowed and said:

”I am fearful!

Though I am part of the Royal Family, I am merely your subject. How dare I comment on matters of imperial succession?”

The Flying Leopard Emperor smiled slightly and said:

”I heard that you are close to the Second Prince; do you think he is more fit to inherit the throne?”

”This is a family matter of Your Majesty, I truly do not dare to speak out!”

”You are also of the Royal Family; the heir to the throne is both my family matter and a matter of state. Share your thoughts, there’s no harm.”

Wanyan Kang hesitated for a moment and said:

”The Second Prince is exceptionally intelligent, with the highest Genetic Evolution Talent among all the princes. The Flying Leopard Empire has always thrived on martial prowess, selecting heirs from princes with outstanding Genetic Evolution Talent.”

The Flying Leopard Emperor nodded,

”You’re not wrong; the Second Prince indeed has the best Genetic Evolution Talent. So, it seems you are inclined to support the Second Prince as heir?”

”Your Majesty is wise!”

”Haha, wise may be too strong a word. I, too, am perplexed and unable to make a decision. By the way, what do you think of the Eldest Prince?”

”The Eldest Prince?”

Wanyan Kang’s heart skipped a beat, and after glancing at the Emperor, he braced himself and said:

”The Eldest Prince is steady and dignified, with a broad mind and has his own ideas for managing the Empire. I personally believe the Eldest Prince could be a great administrator in the future.

However, his Genetic Evolution Talent is lacking, making it difficult for him to maintain his position on the Witch Star.”

The Flying Leopard Emperor was silent for a moment, then nodded,

”What you say makes sense. It would be good if the two brothers could work together harmoniously, allowing me to pass the Empire to them with peace of mind.”

”Your Majesty, a single mountain cannot accommodate two tigers, nor a country two emperors.”

”Haha, I heard that a few days ago, in the Night Market, several of the Eldest Prince’s men were assassinated. There was reportedly a super-strong person using an electric attack Cultivation Technique to kill one of their own to silence him and using it to defeat the Eldest Prince’s men.

Reports suggest that this attacker had remarkable Combat Power, likely only achievable by a super-strong person at the Emperor Level Realm.

Brother Kang, within Wentian City, it seems that of Emperor Level Evolvers who are adept at using electric attacks, you are the only one. Could it be you?”

The Flying Leopard Emperor spoke lightly, as if telling a story, smiling all the while.

However, when Wanyan Kang heard this, he felt a chill in his heart, immediately bowing and explaining:

”Your Majesty, do you suspect it was me?”

”Haha, I am merely reasoning, discussing this with you, who do you think it could be?”

”I, I am unsure, but from what I know, Liang Bao did not die, and the other two were uninjured. If I had been the one, would Your Majesty think the three could have escaped with their lives?”

The Flying Leopard Emperor smiled and said:

”I thought the same. As the Empire’s first War General, beneath one and above millions, how could you be involved in the princes’ struggle? More so, you wouldn’t personally intervene, correct?

Besides, I have long decreed that anyone directly engaging in the princes’ fight will have their entire family wiped out. I might have been injured on the battlefield recently, but as the Emperor of the Flying Leopard Empire, I still have this ability.”

Cold sweat broke out on Wanyan Kang’s back, and he quickly bowed:

”Your Majesty is wise; I pledge my utmost efforts to serve you and will never defy your orders!”

The Flying Leopard Emperor laughed heartily, approached Wanyan Kang, and warmly helped him up, saying:

”Brother Kang, you are the pillar of the Empire. No matter which prince inherits the throne, they will rely on you. There is no need for you to get involved in any prince’s struggle, do you agree?”

Wanyan Kang immediately bowed his head:

”Your Majesty is wise; even if I were foolish, I understand this logic.”

”Hmm, as long as you understand. I truly fear you might get caught in it, causing chaos in the country, forcing me into a position where I must act decisively. That would be truly tragic!”

Wanyan Kang: ”...”

”Haha, just a hypothetical, hypothetical, a joke. Brother Kang would never betray me, and I will, in turn, treat you and your family well!”

...

The Flying Leopard Emperor continued talking for another half an hour, then patted Wanyan Kang on the shoulder,

”Alright, our conversation ends here today. These words are heartfelt; I hope Brother Kang can understand my true intentions,

Our Flying Leopard Empire was originally weak, and now that we have a chance at peaceful development, we cannot afford internal conflict!”

”I will maintain Your Majesty’s teachings!”

”Sigh, these are not teachings. We are brothers, just chatting and sharing our thoughts.”

...

After Wanyan Kang exited the great hall, a gentle breeze blew by, and he felt a chill all over. Only when he touched his body did he realize that he was covered in cold sweat.

The Flying Leopard Emperor was already well aware of Wanyan Kang forming a team with the Second Prince.

Before, with only the Second Prince eligible for the throne, the Flying Leopard Emperor had not bothered with it, even considering it beneficial for the Second Prince’s future succession.

However, things were different now, with a more suitable heir emerging, forcing the Flying Leopard Emperor to warn Wanyan Kang.

Wanyan Kang realized he had underestimated the Flying Leopard Emperor, leaving him drenched in cold sweat as he inadvertently revealed many details.

Though Wanyan Kang was also an Evolver of Emperor Level, he had only just broken through to that tier, whereas the Flying Leopard Emperor was above him.

Further, the Flying Leopard Emperor commanded a vast army and elite guards, making it not difficult to kill him.

Wanyan Kang, despite his confidence in his abilities, knew the Flying Leopard Emperor would not easily fall out with him. But if he indeed killed the Eldest Prince and disrupted the Emperor’s succession plans, the Emperor would act out in anger.

Wanyan Kang wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed inwardly, recalling a phrase from the Flying Leopard Emperor,

”No matter which prince succeeds, they will rely on you and seek to win you over.”

Wanyan Kang smiled slightly,

”Why should I fight? Let the two brothers kill each other, and I will watch the show from the sidelines. Let’s see how they end up. Haha, after the Emperor dies, won’t it be my world anyway? Who would dare defy me?”
