Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao stayed in the library’s backyard, always feeling uneasy, his mind filled with the image of Long Jing.

”I wonder how Jingjing is doing now? Her injury is not light. Earlier, my Beast Soul’s huge tail fiercely struck, causing considerable damage that her defense surely couldn’t withstand.”

Yang Xiao again recalled the sight of Long Jing spitting blood, his heart in turmoil. Hesitating for a moment, he walked toward the Defense Light Screen gate of the small courtyard.

Xiao Ling was stunned and immediately shouted:

”Yang Xiao, where are you going?”

Yang Xiao turned and glanced at Xiao Ling, saying:

”I, I want to see Long Jing, whom I hurt.”

”Oh? You’re going to see her?”

Xiao Ling felt a sinking in her heart.

Yang Xiao thought that this matter needed to be clarified with Xiao Ling sooner or later; otherwise, constantly avoiding it would make him uncomfortable and eventually hurt Xiao Ling.

Yang Xiao hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked to Xiao Ling’s side, saying:

”Xiao Ling, to be honest, Long Jing is a good friend I met on Earth.”

”Ah?”

Not only was Xiao Ling surprised, but Elder Ye also gave Yang Xiao an unexpected look.

Although he had thought something was off between Yang Xiao and Long Jing at the arena, he hadn’t realized their bond was so deep.

”She fought me with a veil, and more than three years have passed. I didn’t recognize her at first; otherwise, I wouldn’t have attacked her so ruthlessly.

Now that I’ve hurt her, I must go to see her to ensure she is okay; otherwise, I won’t be at ease.”

Xiao Ling was stunned, looking at Yang Xiao.

What Yang Xiao said surprised her, and for a moment, she didn’t know how to respond.

With her girlish sensitivity, she could naturally perceive the subtle feelings between Yang Xiao and Long Jing.

Yang Xiao saw Xiao Ling’s somewhat lost expression and couldn’t bear it, so he held her hand and softly said:

”I haven’t seen her in three years. So much has changed for both of us. I just want to check on her since I injured her. Why don’t you come with me?”

Xiao Ling forced a smile, saying:

”Since she is your friend, it makes sense for you to go see her. I won’t go; I have official matters to attend to.”

Yang Xiao patted Xiao Ling’s shoulder and turned to leave.

Watching Yang Xiao’s disappearing back, Xiao Ling stood rooted in place, her heart a mix of complicated emotions.

Elder Ye lay on his recliner, sighed, and said:

”Young girl, Yang Xiao is a person of deep emotions and loyalty. Since she is his old friend and he knew her before you, there’s no reason to stop him.

If you forcibly hold him back, you can keep the person but not the heart.

Might as well let him go. I believe he will come back to you.

Men, well, it’s normal to be sentimental.”

Before Elder Ye could finish speaking, Xiao Ling suddenly turned and gave him a disdainful glare, angrily turning to leave.

Elder Ye: ”...”

Did I say something wrong?

...

Yang Xiao left the library, trying his best to avoid crowded places as he walked toward the Flying Leopard Academy’s guest house.

On the way, he still encountered many people who could instantly recognize him, call out his name, and greet him.

Yang Xiao nodded and smiled but dared not linger, quickly making his way.

More than ten minutes later, he arrived at a secluded courtyard near the academy valley. Here is where relatives and friends could stay when visiting academy students.

Yang Xiao inquired with the staff at the door.

”Excuse me, where are the Heavenly Dragon Academy people staying?”

The staff stammered for a moment, asking:

”Who are you? Why are you looking for them?”

Yang Xiao handed over his Identity Jade Token.

”My name is Yang Xiao. I’m here to check on a friend of mine.”

”Yang Xiao?”

The staff took Yang Xiao’s Identity Jade, showed a surprised expression, and after checking the Jade Token to confirm Yang Xiao’s identity, excitedly said:

”You’re the Yang Xiao who defeated the Heavenly Dragon Academy student and won the championship today?”

Yang Xiao smiled slightly and nodded.

”Wow, impressive! You’ve brought glory to our Flying Leopard Academy.”

”Haha, it’s nothing, just a simple exchange match.”

”This wasn’t a simple exchange match; it deeply affects our academy’s reputation...”

Yang Xiao found this staff member quite talkative and had to interrupt him,

”I want to visit my friend from the Heavenly Dragon Academy. Where are they staying?”

”Ah, they’re staying in Building Nine. Keep following the road straight back, and it’s the last building.”

”Thank you!”

Yang Xiao said and walked toward the back.

A few minutes later, he saw a big number ”9” on a three-story building.

Two guards stood at the door, and Yang Xiao approached, only to be stopped immediately.

”Who are you? What’s your business here?”

”I’m a student from Flying Leopard Academy, here to see Miss Long Jing.”

These two guards were from Heavenly Dragon Academy. This entire building was currently only housing people from Heavenly Dragon Academy.

The two guards hesitated for a moment, asking:

”What’s your name, and why are you looking for Long Jing?”

”My name is Yang Xiao. I’m her friend, here to check if her injuries have healed. Could you please report this?”

The two hesitated for a moment and said:

”Please wait at the door. I’ll go in and report.”

”Okay.”

One guard turned and headed inside the building.

...

Long Jing had taken the Big Blood Pill, the Essence Blood Pill brought by Long Kui, and several other special healing Elixir Medicines. At this moment, she lay in bed, slowly waking up.

Next to her, caring for her, was a female mentor who happily exclaimed upon seeing Long Jing wake up:

”Oh, Princess Jing, you’re finally awake! You scared us.”

Long Jing, just woke up, still very weak, as Yang Xiao’s Beast Soul attack indeed left her severely injured, her organs displaced, and her internal injuries were severe.

If not for Long Kui’s Essence Blood Pill and other special medicines for treating internal injuries, she would’ve needed to be unconscious for three more days relying on only the Big Blood Pill.

Long Jing smiled slightly at the mentor, expressing thanks.

The Elixir she ingested was now working within her body, a warm flow traversing throughout, continuously repairing her damaged internal organs, gradually restoring her Qi.

Long Kui, Mentor Yuan, and others had already visited Long Jing and were anxiously waiting in the outer hall.

The female mentor hurriedly ran out and called:

”Dean, Princess Jing is awake.”

”Ah!”

Everyone was thrilled, and Long Kui and others quickly ran into the room to Long Jing’s bedside.

”Long Jing, how are you?”

Long Jing, as a princess and the sole owner of the Heavenly Dragon Beast Soul, the future Holy Daughter of the Great Dragon Empire, holds a position of utmost importance.

If he had known the battle with Yang Xiao would entail such grave risks, Long Kui absolutely wouldn’t have let Long Jing participate.

Fortunately, Long Jing wasn’t gravely harmed; otherwise, Long Kui and the entire Heavenly Dragon Academy could not answer to the Emperor.

Long Jing smiled slightly,

”Don’t worry, I’m fine, much better.”

”Alas, just you waking up is a relief. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare face the Emperor. Sigh, this time it’s my fault, I need to plead guilty to the Emperor.”

Mentor Yuan said remorsefully.

Long Jing comforted:

”Mentor Yuan, it’s not as serious as you say. It’s just a little injury, and besides, it’s normal to get injured in combat. I’m not that delicate.”

”Princess Jing, this time indeed there was a big mishap. We had not expected that Yang Xiao would be so extraordinary, possessing the Beast Soul Domain, and his Beast Soul’s power far exceeded our estimates.

Flying Leopard Academy has such an exceptionally talented freak, truly a stroke of luck.”

Just then, a guard knocked on the door and entered,

”Reporting to the Dean, outside there is someone named Yang Xiao claiming to be a friend of Princess Jing, wanting to visit her.”

Long Kui instantly flared,

”Don’t see him, send him away. Princess Jing was injured by him, and now he wants to come over pretending to be a good guy.”

”Yes, I will send him away immediately.”

”Wait,”

Long Jing gently called out.

The guard hesitated, looking at Long Jing lying in bed.

”Yang Xiao is my friend; let him in.”

”Princess Jing, he injured you so badly, and you still consider him a friend?”

Long Kui said discontently.

Long Jing smiled faintly,

”At the time I wore a veil, he did not recognize me. If he had recognized me, he definitely wouldn’t have injured me so severely,

Moreover, we each represented our academy in the battle, fighting for different masters, even being injured by him is normal.”

Long Kui, unable to argue, had to say:

”Alright, let him in.”
