Chapter 1524: Chapter 524: The Death of Little Black (Part 3)

Since she learned about the incident involving Rein, Cleya has been extremely worried and chose to stay long-term at the Rein Mansion, comforting Rein’s parents and sister Bo He.

At the same time, she received news from home about her father, Count Habs of Meister, who has recently been repeatedly warned by many Great Nobles.

It seems that her father, Count Habs, is also under immense pressure. He wrote in a letter suggesting she should consider her own future and perhaps reconsider the Marquis who has pursued her before...

But let’s set that aside for now; last night, while resting with Bo He, she heard the sharp neighing of the rapid-footed horse, Xiao Hei, in the middle of the night.

When she reached the stable, Rein’s former steed Xiao Hei was found killed in the act. She briefly engaged with the suspect, a woman in leather armor, and was repelled. When the guards arrived, the suspect mysteriously vanished.

And left a message saying they would return tonight.

Although the Imperial City’s security patrol arrived, they found this case quite troublesome, as it seemed beyond their capacity to handle, and once reported, it seemed to hit a dead end.

A series of events weighed heavily on her heart and she felt she couldn’t hold on much longer.

Therefore, today she specifically invited Rein’s two friends — Luther and Halowin — to discuss strategies.

”Miss Cleya, starting today, Lord Halowin and I will take turns standing guard at the mansion. However, given the situation you described, even with Lord Halowin, we are unsure we can catch the culprit.”

Luther and Halowin exchanged looks and saw difficulty in each other’s eyes.

Cleya’s strength was already on par with theirs, but from Cleya’s description, the opponent seemed to have some unique Talent Ability, allowing them to vanish instantly. Thus, even if they took action, there was no certainty of success.

It hadn’t been long since Lord Rein met with misfortune, yet those forces that once feared him like the tiger all emerged.

The opponents didn’t hesitate to attack the Mingster’s Warhammer and Rose Commerce and even dared to kill Lord Rein’s former steed in provocation. It was outrageous!

”Thank you both, I’ll check on little Bo He now; she was frightened last night.”

Just as Cleya stood up, she saw the familiar towering figure appear at the entrance as the guest room door swung open.

”Rein!!!” Cleya exclaimed, overwhelmed with mixed emotions!

”Lord Rein!”

”Wonderful, Lord Rein, you’re back!” Luther and Halowin also rose in greeting, their faces showing surprise, joy, and disbelief.

”Cleya, why are you crying?” Rein smiled gently, wiping tears from Cleya’s pretty face.

”Rein, I’m sorry.”

”Thank you, Cleya; I’ll handle the matter from here.” Rein gently embraced Cleya.

...

Ten minutes later, after understanding the situation, Rein went upstairs to his sister Bo He’s bedroom.

Upon entering, he saw his frightened sister from last night sleeping peacefully atop the spiritual greyhound Qu Qi.

”Woof woof!”

Rein intended to leave quietly, but Qu Qi, seemingly sensing something, barked excitedly.

”Qu Qi, let me sleep a bit more!”

The dog’s movement awakened Bo He. She rubbed her swollen eyes and looked toward the door, and in the next second, her eyes widened with surprise.

”Brother!”

Rein smiled as he picked up his rushing sister Bo He, rubbing the spiritual greyhound Qu Qi that was nudging against his pants.

”Brother, Xiao Hei is dead...” Bo He sobbed.

”Yes, I know. I will make the culprit pay. Be good, no more crying.”

”Okay!”

For some reason, seeing her brother allowed Bo He to relax completely. After chatting briefly, she fell back asleep.

Afterward, Rein went to visit his mother Emma and his father, the old Rein.

Seeing Rein’s safe return, Emma’s illness improved greatly, though she wasn’t spared from the elderly’s nagging and reminders.

...

Returning to his bedroom, Rein extended his hand and swiftly drew a complex gesture in the air. A symbol emanating spiritual power appeared in the air before him.

”Rein?”

Seconds later, Menia’s voice came through the intricate symbol.

Among High Rank Wizards, as long as they shared their exclusive Communication Marks, they could communicate within a certain range. Rein and Menia had exchanged such marks back at the Molten Lava Lake.

”Menia...” Quickly, Rein explained the situation briefly.

Rein’s intention was clear; in the future, he might have conflicts with Second Prince Everton, so he had to inform Menia, Everton’s aunt, accordingly.

Just as one would inform the adults before disciplining their child.

”Rein, since this involves Everton, leave it to me. Besides handing over the culprit and making a personal apology, is there anything else needed?”

”Just surrendering the culprit is fine; an apology isn’t necessary.”

Even if Menia forced an apology, it wouldn’t be sincere, so Rein wasn’t interested at all.

...

A few minutes later.

Second Prince Mansion, second floor.

”Bang!!!”

Second Prince Everton’s face was grim as he slammed his palm onto the solid wood desk, startling the white cat napping atop into a sprinting escape.

Buchanan heard the commotion inside and knocked on the door, saying,

”Your Highness?”

”Come in!” Everton said in a deep voice.

”Yes, Your Highness.” Buchanan entered and immediately saw the Second Prince looking extremely displeased.

As Butler to the Second Prince for many years, Buchanan naturally understood his master’s habits. The Second Prince’s expression made it obvious he was furious.

”Aunt Menia personally intervened for Rein, demanding I hand over Quinna and apologize in person.”

”What!” Buchanan was naturally startled upon hearing this.

It’s well known that the ’Red Queen’ Menia held great prestige within the Imperial Royal Family. However, she was typically lenient with the younger generation, rarely expressing herself in the manner of direct rebuke, let alone demanding an apology.

”It must be because of Rein’s outstanding performance during the Empire Delegation’s Sea God Sect attack incident, which earned Aunt Menia’s recognition and commendation.” Everton mused, his tone serious after calming down.

”Buchanan, take Quinna, personally visit the Rein Mansion and apologize.”

”Now?”

”Yes, now.”

”Understood, Your Highness. But... Quinna...” Buchanan showed hesitation.

Quinna possessed the rare Shadow Dragon Bloodline, and was known to have the highest concentration of Shadow Dragon Bloodline among the current members of the Dragon Scale Brotherhood. Giving her to Rein seemed quite wasteful.

If not, the Second Prince wouldn’t have needed to personally press the Sword Bearers to reclaim her days ago.

Moreover, it was hard to communicate this matter with Quinna, given it felt like sending her to her death.

”Hand Quinna over to Rein, but if she manages to escape, that would be their problem,” Everton said with a touch of cold humor, simultaneously handing Buchanan a vial of red liquid, sparkling with crystalline flecks.

”The Bloodline Burst Potion? Understood, Your Highness.”

”I will head over immediately!”

Buchanan accepted it and couldn’t help but smile.

After being brought back, Quinna was rewarded with a ’Dragon Vein Evolution Potion’, bringing her power close to that of an Epic Strongman.

If she consumes the ’Bloodline Burst Potion’, her Shadow Dragon Bloodline abilities will be greatly enhanced temporarily. He only needed to pretend to hand Quinna over to Rein, confident she would soon manage her escape.
