Chapter 1521: Chapter 523: Jennifer’s Crisis_3

”It’s really reckless!”

At this moment, the Light Curtain had been broken. The cloaked man said, ”Wait, let’s go after those women first.”

”They’re in that servants’ room.” Another Crystallization Wizard sensed briefly with closed eyes, then opened them again and said.

Indeed, Jennifer and the other two women ran out of the servants’ room from the front courtyard and headed for the gate.

”Heh, interesting, can they escape?” the armored man sneered.

His figure flashed to the front courtyard, but immediately halted because two men and a woman appeared at the gate to protect the three women: Angus, Evelyn, and Neoro.

”These are the former team members of Lord Rein; their power really is weak.” At this time, two Crystallization Wizards and the cloaked man also approached and said.

Angus and Neoro were on high alert. Although their progress was remarkable, there was still a considerable disparity in strength against the opposing enemies.

At this moment, a Knight holding a shiny silver Dual-Handed Warhammer, leading a group of Silver Armored Knights, arrived at the gate.

”Miss Jennifer, sorry, I’m a bit late.”

”Goddess Church? Punishment Knight?” This time, the expression under the cloaked man’s hood grew slightly solemn.

Apparently, they did not anticipate that the Goddess Church of Mingster Province had such a good relationship with the target, no, accurately speaking, with Lord Rein.

The Goddess Church, which never intervenes in the Imperial Nobles’ conflicts, actually took action rarely.

”This Punishment Knight, I hope you won’t intervene in this matter; it won’t benefit you in any way.”

”Lord Rein has made outstanding contributions to the Church before, and as a Second Level Goddess Medal recipient, his family and relatives will be protected by the Church unless they break the Empire’s law.”

Brandel also sensed the difficulty of the enemies before him.

There were three whose strength matched his, a team certainly not one that ordinary Great Nobles of the Empire could dispatch.

....

Imperial City Tamriel.

Drum Duke’s Mansion.

”What! That Rein has returned? He and Prince Menia were not imprisoned by the Avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess, but instead defeated them? Disappeared for a while, only to heal?”

The Drum Duke exclaimed, rising from behind his mahogany desk.

”Yes, Duke, I couldn’t believe it either, but this is news just transmitted from a family confidant employed by the Elder Council, reportedly Crown Reginald has already received Prince Menia and Rein.”

The Drum Duke confirmed again, his eyes slightly lost, as if the spine had been removed from his body, he plopped back into the wide seat.

After a while, the Drum Duke said in a deep voice, ”Stop all actions immediately!”

”Recall the team headed to Frostwind Prairie for the Gold Mine immediately.”

”Notify the O’Lence family to cease their actions in Mingster Province immediately.”

”Yes! This... Marquis O’Lence received this message the day before yesterday and personally went to Mingster. Accompanying them are two lords from the Isodre school, I expect they’ve already acted.” The butler said with some difficulty.

”As for Frostwind Prairie, there’s still time because it’s a long journey; the team is still on their way.”

Upon hearing the butler’s report, the Drum Duke’s expression became increasingly severe.

”Swiftly sever ties with the O’Lence family regarding this matter, to erase any trace of Drum Family’s involvement!”

The word from Drum Duke made the butler shiver internally!

For years, the O’Lence family always looked to the Drum Family for direction, yet unexpectedly, Drum Duke could abandon it so ruthlessly. Is this the power play of the Empire’s top-level old nobles?

”Yes! However, Duke, there may still be one or two secret letters from us with the O’Lence family.”

”No matter, all secret letters employ special encoding, as long as there’s no concrete evidence proving Drum Family’s participation.”

”As long as we detach ourselves, Lord Rein won’t act against us without solid proof. After all, we have the Empire Guardian, our ancestor Pantoscoke, known as ’Storm Cloud’.”

Upon mentioning this Empire Guardian, the Drum Duke’s face relaxed much more.

The Drum Family’s longstanding standing among the Empire’s top nobles is largely owed to ’Storm Cloud’ Pantoscoke.

”Indeed, with Crown Pantoscoke, even if Lord Rein has objections regarding this matter, it will end here.” The butler chuckled, complimenting.
