Chapter 1519: Chapter 523: Jennifer’s Crisis

A few hours later, the brilliant starry sky illuminated the return journey.

Since the Empire Delegation had already returned several days later than expected, Menia declined the Federation’s offer to stay and immediately decided to lead the group on their return voyage.

On the flagship of the Imperial Airship ’Queen’.

Reginald still found it hard to believe as he looked at the smiling Menia and asked, ”Prince Menia, have you and Lord Rein really confirmed a romantic relationship?”

It wasn’t that he was gossiping or being nosy, but Menia had just specifically instructed Reginald not to make her and Rein’s relationship public for the time being.

After all, her identity was rather sensitive, and once made public, there would be a large amount of criticism in a short period of time.

Of course, she had discussed this with Rein, who had no objections.

After all, for him, as long as both he and Menia recognized the relationship, whether it was public or not didn’t make much difference to him.

His status was based on his own strength and prowess, not from currying favor or clinging to power.

”Yes, although there were some accidental factors in between, I found Rein to be kind-hearted and considerate to me...”

Listening to Menia’s words, Reginald felt that the person beside him wasn’t the Empire’s ’Red Queen,’ but a deeply-in-love young girl.

For a moment, it was as if a thousand wild oxen trampled through his heart...

’Kind-hearted and considerate? Aren’t there millions of Empire men like that? Is that why?!’

Reginald was speechless and really wanted to say, ’Actually, I can do those two things too. But after all these years...’

”Alright! Prince Menia, I naturally agree to your request and will keep this matter confidential.”

”Thank you, Reginald.”

”By the way, are Elder Ivan and the others already on their way?”

”Yes, they should be on the road in a few hours.”

”Hmm.”

Since Rein promised Menia not to reveal their relationship yet, he naturally couldn’t stay too long in Menia’s room.

So after leaving the ancient mermaid girl in Menia’s room, he returned to his cabin.

....

Meanwhile.

In the Dragan Empire, Mingster.

In a luxurious mansion close to the Axon Auction House.

The beautiful woman Jennifer was still working late in the second-floor study, calculating accounts, accompanied by the barbarian girl Lagaray studying commerce, and Georgia from the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group.

Georgia initially served as Jennifer’s personal guard, but after discovering the woman’s astute business acumen, she was greatly impressed.

So, in addition to her duties as a guard, Georgia followed Jennifer to learn some basic commercial trading techniques.

As for Lagaray, her original plan was to study commerce with the lady for two to three months, understand some key processes, and then return to the Norton Tribe to help Clan Leader Dalius and High Priest Rom improve the tribe’s foreign trade.

The ultimate goal was naturally to improve the harsh living conditions of her people.

Although previously, Rein had already contacted the Snyder family, where Luther belonged, to help the Norton Tribe sell furs, the Frostwind Prairie still had some other valuable outputs. If they could supply them directly to Jennifer, the profits could be quite substantial.

At the same time, if the auction house could procure some rare minerals, once purchased and brought back to the tribe for forging, it could significantly enhance the defense and combat abilities of the tribe’s high-rank warriors.

This means that trade profits could be directly used to buy rare minerals, thus eliminating middlemen and maximizing fund efficiency.

”Madam, in recent days, our main caravans outside have all been attacked by unknown forces. Do you think what Lord Luther warned us about before could be true?” Georgia asked with a worried look.

Her brother, Fandar, the leader of the Ice Claw Bear Mercenaries, had volunteered to go check the situation. Although she had great confidence in her brother’s abilities, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

”In any case, we must leave Mingster early tomorrow. Since someone is taking the opportunity to threaten Rein through us, it must be a powerful entity.” Earlier today, Jennifer received a secret message from the Duke of Minter.

The gist was that a high-level struggle was involved and she should return to the Imperial City immediately to ensure her safety.

But the problem was, Jennifer had several direct trade caravans and needed to negotiate trade with other merchants, not to mention issues related to the auction house, so even if she was to return to the Imperial City, she couldn’t leave immediately.

Of course, most importantly, Jennifer didn’t think things were urgent enough yet, considering they were in Mingster and not elsewhere.

Additionally, the beautiful woman was puzzled.

Because logically, with Rein’s rising status in the Empire and his rapidly advancing strength, no powerful entity should be foolish enough to try to threaten Rein by controlling or abducting them.

Once Rein found out, even if temporarily at a disadvantage, he would surely retaliate once he became stronger.
