Chapter 1398: Chapter 475: Engagement

A few minutes ago.

In a small conference room on the side of Menia’s cabin.

Rein, Reginald, and Menia were discussing battle deployment.

”Your Crown Reginald, the encirclement of the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon this time might be more difficult than we previously anticipated.”

”My idea is that Tasa and I handle the right flank, while you and your Giant Dragon partner, Ted, handle the left flank.”

Hearing this, Reginald’s eyes flickered. He tilted his head slightly to look at Rein, seemingly wanting to say something, but didn’t speak immediately.

”As for the vassals of the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon, Rein, can I leave them to you to handle?” the ’Red Queen’ Menia turned to Rein and asked.

Vassals?

Rein thought for a moment and understood why Menia arranged it this way.

Because Menia had a previous conversation with him, advising him to avoid using the Two-headed Giant Dragon transformation in front of others as much as possible.

This battle arrangement seemed to consider his combat strength without transformation, only requiring him to deal with the vassals of the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon.

”Of course, no problem.” Rein nodded decisively.

However, upon hearing this, Reginald couldn’t hold back.

Even though ’Earth Pulsation’ Reginald was much older than Rein, having experienced the previous battle of Ferdinand Forest, he greatly admired Rein’s combat strength and maintained a very friendly attitude.

He said:

”Prince Menia, in terms of combat strength, Lord Rein’s abilities are above mine. I’m not sure why you’re not allowing Lord Rein to handle the left flank?”

”Rein lacks a Giant Dragon partner, which puts him at a disadvantage in the fight against the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon...”

At this moment, before Menia could finish speaking, the alarm on the airship blared loudly.

The lookout’s voice also reached the small conference room.

Hearing Menia’s explanation, Reginald nodded but immediately realized that this reason didn’t hold up at all.

Rein’s flexibility after transforming into a Giant Dragon was likely even beyond that of their Dragon Riders.

However, seeing Menia and Rein already getting up to head to the ship’s side, he simply shook his head and said no more.

...

The three of them, Rein, Menia, and Reginald, arrived at the side of the ship, gazing into the distance.

On the far left, a white line gradually emerged on the distant blue sea surface, like a tide rushing swiftly towards the Obadin Coast.

The long coastline seemed like a dividing line.

One side was a continent covered with vegetation, while the other was a boundless blue sea.

Rein seemed to have seen something, squinting his eyes and observing motionlessly.

With his vision, he could already gradually make out the outline in the distance, and the faintly visible three long necks indicated it was undoubtedly the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon.

Given that such a distinct outline was visible from such a long distance, it was evident how large the opponent’s size was.

Seeing the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon, Rein distinctly remembered that back in Meister, he didn’t even have the capability to observe from afar.

Unexpectedly, he now possessed the strength to directly face the opponent.

”Turn right rudder, circle from behind....”

Menia’s clear voice swiftly conveyed to the captain’s ear through some kind of witchcraft, and the Imperial Airship fleet began to slowly change direction.

Suddenly, Rein furrowed his brows.

After looking repeatedly, he faintly sensed something amiss.

”Prince Menia, Your Crown Reginald, why do I feel like the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon isn’t heading toward Obadin, but towards that mountain range over there?” Rein pointed towards the direction of the mountains and asked.

”Hmm?” The two focused their attention.

”Lord Rein is right, the direction of the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon’s advance seems off.” Reginald continued to observe for a few more moments, nodded, and said thoughtfully.

”Indeed, something’s off.” Menia also nodded, though she merely said these few words, her eyebrows slightly knitted in thought.

Because the advancement pattern of the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon is linear.

So, logically, the opponent would advance toward the most densely populated city, to devour a large number of humans and regain its power.

But now, it’s heading toward the sparsely populated mountainous area, abandoning the big city of Obadin, which makes no sense.

...

At the side of a medium-sized airship in the rear of the Federation Airship fleet.

”Rebecca, during the meeting earlier, was the person sitting next to you the Imperial genius Rein mentioned by our mentor?” A middle-aged man approached and asked.

This middle-aged man was named Old Lee. Like Rebecca, he was an operator of the ’Ajax’ Super Giant Magic Statue and a fellow disciple of Haleem, the director of the Federation Mechanical Research Institute.

”Yes.” Rebecca nodded, lost in thought.

”This Rein is so young, I feel like the rumors are exaggerated?”

Old had always harbored romantic intentions towards Rebecca. Seeing Rebecca show strong interest in this Rein, whom he had never met, he naturally felt a sense of male competition.

However, in response to Old’s question, Rebecca seemed to snap back to reality, but instead of answering directly, she asked in return:

”Old, do you know why I sat next to this Rein?”

”Why?” Old asked, puzzled.

He was certain that Rebecca had never met this Rein before, and such a proactive action wasn’t typical of a lady, nor was it Rebecca’s character.
