Chapter 1395: Chapter 473: Arrival at the Federation (2)

Upon hearing Menia’s words, Rein couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, quite surprised.

”Prince Menia, do you mean that we need to go to the big city of Westin in the Federation first to join the welcoming team, and then proceed to the Federation West Coast to eliminate the three-headed sea dragon?”

Initially, he thought it was merely a simple visit.

Now it seemed the purpose of this Imperial visit wasn’t that simple, or rather, it was more significant than he had expected.

”Yes, although we have repelled the magic-tailed three-headed sea dragon’s harassment of the Empire’s coast several times, it has been able to escape successfully each time thanks to the advantageous terrain of the sea.”

”Over time, the magic-tailed three-headed sea dragon’s strength has gradually recovered. Now it has become wise, attacking alternately on the Empire’s east coast and the Federation’s west coast.”

”This poses a great threat to both us and the Federation, so this time we will unite to eliminate it completely. In some sense, this will also be the first substantial cooperation between the Empire and the Federation.”

”I see.” Rein showed a look of realization.

He had previously been puzzled as to why the Empire would appoint ’Red Queen’ Prince Menia as the delegation leader to the Federation.

Even for a return visit, this level seemed too high.

Now it seemed that this was the reason.

This mission was not merely a return visit but held more profound cooperation significance.

Recalling what Hamadi had said before about the increasingly severe conditions, it seemed to be forcing the two most powerful countries to cooperate.

”By the way, Rein, you’re now a Fourth Level Dawn Wizard, right?” Menia’s beautiful eyes glanced over Rein, asking.

”Yes, Prince Menia.” Rein nodded.

There was no need to hide this, nor could it be hidden.

”Well, in the fight against the magic-tailed three-headed sea dragon, try not to use your bloodline transformation. The matter of the two-headed giant dragon during the Ferdinand Forest incident has been suppressed by me.”

”Hmm?”

Rein was slightly surprised and glanced at Menia.

”What do you mean?” Rein asked.

”There are some complicated internal matters in it, you just need to remember this point, try not to perform the two-headed giant dragon transformation, especially in front of the Imperial Royal Family.” Menia gave Rein a deep look, saying no more.

”Okay.” Rein nodded.

Rein could naturally feel that ’Red Queen’ Menia had no hostility towards him.

In fact, from what Menia had just said, it wasn’t hard to detect that Menia seemed to be looking out for him to some extent.

”Not in front of the Imperial Royal Family?”

Rein pondered over this sentence in his heart and immediately speculated.

”It seems to be related to some secret of the Imperial Royal Family.”

....

A quarter of an hour later.

Rein took leave and returned to his cabin.

Soon, he shook his head, deciding not to think about it for now.

Since Menia had reminded him, he would try not to perform the two-headed giant dragon transformation in front of everyone.

In fact, for the current Rein, ever since mastering the Dawn Killing Move ’Steel Forest’, even without transforming, the difference in combat power wasn’t that large.

This was also the significance of the Dawn Killing Move!

”However, regarding attribute points, it’s still best to accumulate as many as possible.”

”Whether used to restore spiritual power or physical strength, they are essential for battle.” Rein contemplated.

Rein moved to the desk.

On the desk were various leather tanning materials.

Previously, considering the lengthy journey to visit the Federation, Rein had prepared a lot of leather tanning materials in advance.

Taking advantage of the leisure time during the journey, he could now enhance his Skinning Master’s profession level, and once he reached about lv10, he could transition to Elf Skin Tanning.

Since Rein’s Skinning Master profession level had already reached lv7, the experience provided by the Moonlight Coat was insufficient for quick upgrading, so Rein would attempt a new leather chest armor.

This piece of leather chest armor, named the Thorny Wood Coat, like the Moonlight Coat, is also commonly used by Druids.

In terms of effectiveness, it’s more advanced than the Moonlight Coat. Besides being easier to conceal oneself in the jungle, it also has a protective effect similar to the Thorny Wood Shield, requiring raw materials like a piece of thorny wood bark, a blood vine, and four pieces of tanned hide.

Of course, there were other little things like ox tendons, etc.

But materials weren’t a problem, for before Rein left the Ferdinand Forest, the Elf Clan had prepared ample raw materials for him.

Ten minutes later, the system prompt sounded:

[You have crafted a Thorny Wood Coat, related comprehension improved!]

[You have comprehended a new skill—crafting Thorny Wood Coat]

[Your skill in crafting Thorny Wood Coat has improved, Experience +12]

[You successfully crafted one Thorny Wood Coat, Skin Tanning Professional Experience Points +10]

...

Just as the Imperial Airship fleet set off not long ago.

Eagle Federation Capital Anuhor.

In front of a huge spired building over a dozen stories high, people dressed in white lab coats, looking like researchers, moved in and out.

And on the sign in front of the door, large gilded characters read ”Eagle Federation Mechanical Research Institute”.

Inside an office on the top floor, the decor was simple, with only a few potted green plants on a deep red coffee table for decoration, seemingly aligning with the impression of researchers as old-fashioned and minimalist.

However, behind the dark office desk, instead of a bald middle-aged man, there sat a young woman in a white lab coat.

Her wavy blonde hair and beautiful appearance suggested she was just over twenty, and she was diligently flipping through thick documents.

”Knock, knock, knock!”

The sound of knocking was heard.

”Come in.”

”Lady Rebecca, the diplomatic department says the delegation from the Dragan Empire has already set off. Shouldn’t we prepare to depart too?” asked a young woman in a short suit and pencil skirt.

”No rush. Normally, they need three days to reach the West Coast. But for us, one day is enough,” Rebecca replied without lifting her head.

”Alright! By the way, Lady Rebecca, the intelligence department says that this time, Rein, the key personnel the Dragan Empire wants to win over, will also be coming.”

”The intelligence department hopes we can communicate more with them. If we can arouse their interest in our research and have them voluntarily stay, that would be the best outcome.”

”Hmm?”

Seemingly intrigued by the topic, Rebecca immediately put down the documents in her hand and raised her beautiful eyes to look at her secretary.

As a top-tier genius of the Federation’s research institute, and a genius Metal Series Wizard in the early stages of Third Level Crystalization, Rebecca Hayden knew all too well the significance of a high-ranking Metal Series Wizard to the Federation Mechanical Research Institute.

”This is indeed good news.”

”By the way, our research institute’s mission this time is to deploy the newly developed ’Ajax’ in actual combat, right?”

”Yes, Lady Rebecca.”

”Have the others ready, we will depart in an hour.”

...

After a three-day journey crossing the vast Summer Sea, the Empire Delegation finally arrived above the major city of Westin on the Federation West Coast at dawn on the third day.

Rein also stepped out of the cabin and came to the side of the airship to observe the scene in front of him.

Compared to most County Towns and Province Towns of the Dragan Empire, which had a medieval feel, Rein felt that Westin had almost taken the first steps into an industrial revolution.

In front of him were rows of city buildings, and even more so, numerous large smokestacks.

At this moment, the smokestacks were emitting waves of black smoke, casting a dim and slightly oppressive veil over the entire sky.

Looking down from the smokestacks, there were sprawling factories, and with Rein’s eyesight, he could clearly see a large number of workers in plain, worn clothes coming and going from the factories early in the morning.

As for the city center.

Although the bustling crowds on the streets were still predominantly using horse-drawn carriages, Rein could now see that on some main roads, there seemed to be some sort of bus-like transportation powered by steam engines.

”Look over there, is that steam power?”

At this moment, more people gathered on both sides of the airship, and many also noticed that steam-powered locomotive.

”Yes, it seems so, and the boats on the river too.”

”That’s right!”

On the river that meandered through the city center, steamships were also clearly visible, and their numbers were not insignificant.

Although the Empire had large energy furnaces, their numbers were very few, while the Federation’s steam power had almost been fully deployed, applied to all aspects of people’s daily lives.

This scene before their eyes delivered an incomparable impact to the people of the Empire.
