The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Effendy Garland heard her say that and tears streamed down as he refused to give up: ”How could that be. My dad has already been missing for a full day and night, please think of something else.”

”I’ve already thought of something for you, don’t panic.” Zevaney Kingsley was already too impatient to listen to her rambling on, and raised her hand to call the waiter over to pay the bill.

Right then Zevaney’s Phone lit up. She looked down and saw a Message from Regina Isadora, telling her the laboratory was ready and asking her to come take a look.

Her Heart instantly flew back there like an arrow; she had no desire to keep wasting time on people like Effendy Garland and Nathan Garland.

Ever since she’d successfully latched onto Regina Isadora and the Hidden Family behind her, whether it was Nathan Garland or The First Research Institute, both had become things of the past in her Eyes.

If Effendy hadn’t come to her begging for help to find someone, she wouldn’t even have bothered contacting Marco Lordon to have him go look for Nathalie Quinlan.

Since Marco didn’t pick up her phone call, Zevaney felt in her Heart that Nathan was probably beyond saving this time.

She didn’t want anyone dragging her down at this critical moment in her meteoric rise, not even a teacher who had once taken exceptional care of her.

After the waiter came over and settled the bill, Zevaney slipped the check folder back into her bag, then looked at Effendy again, reining in the impatience in her Eyes and offering her some perfunctory words of comfort.

She finished by saying, ”Since teacher isn’t home during this period, you need to take good care of teacher’s wife and family. I believe teacher will be back soon.”

Effendy still wanted to say something.

Zevaney cut her off: ”If you need anything, you can come find me.”

Effendy couldn’t help showing a grateful expression; after all, the Garland Family had fallen to this point, and in Inderia no one dared help them anymore.

Yet Zevaney was still willing to lend them a hand, which filled Effendy’s Heart with deep gratitude, and she even forgot that the original reason she’d sought Zevaney out was to have her help find out where Nathan Garland had gone.

”Thank you, Sister Zevaney.”

Zevaney said with poised elegance, ”You’re welcome.”

Then she picked up her things, stood up and said to Effendy, ”I still have something to do. You keep eating, I’ll head out first.”

”...Okay.”

Effendy was too embarrassed to keep asking her to stay. Even though she was still worried about Nathan in her Heart, she could only watch helplessly as Zevaney hurriedly left the restaurant serving Western Cuisine.

This time the work had really worn Nathalie Quinlan out. For the next few days she basically slept at the Villa, and when she did get up, she was either holed up in her room busy with something unknown, or heading to the hospital to visit Nicholas Fuller.

Sadam Vinson had only suffered superficial injuries and was discharged the next day, returning to the Villa.

Emma Gabehart dropped by to see him once in the middle of that, and, in a rare move, even bought some fruit to bring over.

Sadam valued that fruit immensely. As soon as Emma left, he ignored the injury to his Arm, snatched the fruit from Alfred Garland’s hands, and hid it all away in his own room.

Because Sadam was recuperating at home, Amadeus Yancey had basically been staying at the Villa these few days and hadn’t gone anywhere, which meant that people from the Yandor Sect were showing up at the Villa every day looking for Him...

Several times, when Nathalie came downstairs for a drink of water, she saw a few unfamiliar faces. Since they weren’t from the Yandor Sect, she figured they must be from some other Power under Amadeus.

...

Nicholas Fuller woke up on the fifth day.

The doctor notified Nathalie immediately.

Nathalie didn’t waste any time, and drove straight to the hospital.

In the ward, Nicholas had just regained consciousness, and there was still a nurse at the bedside taking his blood pressure.

He turned his head and saw the Girl hurrying into the ward. When Nicholas saw Her, his gaze softened; he struggled to sit up and waved her over, smiling: ”You’re here, come sit.”
