The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Violetta Hoffman watched his figure as he walked away.

When he had gone out of sight.

She turned to Orson Saban and said, ”Vice Principal, may I have a word with you?”

Orson Saban knew of Violetta Hoffman’s achievements in the field of physics, and among the various laboratory heads, he had a decent impression of her.

So he readily agreed and invited Violetta to his office.

...

Orson arrived at the office, opened the door, and let Violetta find a place to sit herself.

He went to the water dispenser, drew two cups of water, handed one to Violetta, and returned behind his desk to sit down. Relaxing his brow, he opened by saying, ”Mr. Hoffman, what would you like to discuss with me? Just say it directly.”

Violetta took a small sip of water, placed the cup on her leg, looked up with a slightly serious expression, and said, ”Vice Principal, I’ve received information that recently there have been frequent movements from the Hidden Family... someone has come to Inderia.”

”You mean the Hidden Family?”

Violetta nodded, ”Yes.”

Orson was somewhat surprised, tapped his teacup on the table, and frowned, ”But... Mr. Martin has always been the one liaising with us regarding the Hidden Family. Why would they suddenly send someone else over?”

”I don’t know.” Violetta looked up and asked, ”Vice Principal, do you think it’s because they are dissatisfied with our selection of heirs this time?”

Orson pressed his lips together, silent and thoughtful, clearly beginning to assess the likelihood of this possibility.

”For many years, the Hidden Family has maintained a good cooperative relationship with The First Research Institute, and it has always been Mr. Martin handling our exchanges. Now they’ve suddenly sent someone to Inderia, and since arriving, they haven’t contacted us. I worry they’re displeased with the Dean and The First Research Institute.”

”Moreover, I’m concerned they might be targeting Nathalie Quinlan!” Violetta was most worried about this.

Orson, fearing she was nervous, reassured her thoughtfully, ”The Dean hasn’t mentioned this matter, so you don’t need to worry too much.”

Violetta took a deep breath, directly told him, ”I’m not overthinking... Vice Principal, have you heard about the Victoria Harbour explosion?”

Orson looked at her.

Violetta picked up her water cup and took a sip to ease her tension, took a deep breath, and looked up again, saying, ”Someone acted on the high seas, employing new weapons. Even The First Research Institute has never seen such new weapons. I fear it’s the work of people from the Hidden Family...”

Orson pondered, ”You mean people from the Hidden Family acted on the high seas of Inderia?”

Violetta shook her head, looking at him with an increasingly heavy expression, ”I don’t care where they acted. What I mean is they are very likely to possess new weapons that even we don’t have! This is what’s most important! I’m concerned they have found someone elsewhere to develop new weapons of mass destruction.”

Orson looked at her suddenly.

Violetta did not avoid his line of sight and said concisely, ”I know neither you nor the Dean wish for The First Research Institute to become a weapon in the hands of the Hidden Family. I feel the same! I equally wish for the institute not to become a battlefield for various powers. That’s why I’m particularly worried about this... Zevaney Kingsley, she...”

Orson probably understood why Violetta came to her.

Violetta meant that she suspected the Victoria Harbour explosion in Inderia was the work of Zevaney Kingsley. Zevaney developed new weapons for the Hidden Family that even The First Research Institute couldn’t control, and Violetta feared these things could be exploited to stir up trouble...

Once Orson understood her intention, his expression softened slightly, and he interrupted her, ”It wasn’t Zevaney Kingsley. She doesn’t have that capability!”
