The Unveiling of Secret Queen

After coming out, she realized she hadn’t brought a towel to dry her hair. She was just about to go back in to look for one, but then she noticed a new towel neatly folded by the bathroom door.

Nathalie Quinlan raised her eyelids slightly, clearly a bit surprised.

She had a good memory and remembered there was nothing there before she went in. But since there was a towel now, it meant... someone had been here...

She picked up the towel with her still-functional left hand and casually dried her hair as she lazily walked out.

Sure enough, Nathalie saw the man leaning against her desk waiting for her to come out. Who else could it be but Amadeus Yancey?

Nathalie blinked and walked towards the person, her voice slightly hoarse as she passed by him and said, ”Excuse me.”

Amadeus raised an eyebrow and stepped aside to make way.

”Thank you.”

Nathalie calmly pulled out a chair, sat down next to him, crossed her legs, pulled the laptop in front of her, powered it on, and without looking aside, began checking the files and information she had hacked back from the Hidden Family’s computer...

Amadeus saw that she really wasn’t paying attention to him, chuckled softly, looked down, his deep eyes subtly amused, the black collar of his shirt slightly open, ”What is Nathalie the Goddess looking at?”

Nathalie always got a headache every time he called her Nathalie the Goddess; she moved her gaze from the laptop screen to glance at him sideways, pursing her lips, ”A few days ago, someone from the Hidden Family tried to hack my computer, so I copied some stuff back in the process.”

”Did you find the password you were looking for?” Amadeus wasn’t surprised that Nathalie could outsmart people from the Hidden Family in computer technology.

The girl lowered her eyelids, feeling a bit frustrated, and pushed the laptop forward, ”No, it’s all useless stuff.”

But thinking about it, Nathalie could understand; after all, it was just a minor minion’s computer, it’s unlikely they had anything confidential in there.

Amadeus noticed her bad mood, pressed down on her shoulder to stop her from moving, then casually picked up the dry towel Nathalie had thrown aside and started wiping her hair.

Nathalie’s back muscles were tense, but as the faint mint scent from someone surrounded her, she gradually began to relax in this familiar atmosphere.

Amadeus saw the girl slowly relaxing. While towel-drying her hair, he said, ”Mr. Fuller just called to ask if you’ve been discharged.”

”Mhm.” Nathalie was feeling a bit sluggish, her eyelids drooping, half-squinting as if she wanted to sleep.

Amadeus’s fingers ran through the girl’s jet-black, long hair, his movements as gentle as possible, carefully drying the water off, ”The Vice Principal also asked several times if you were discharged. Plus, a few others who care about you... Nathalie, do you want to have dinner with them?”

Nathalie was feeling drowsy from his actions, propping her chin with her left hand, a cold white wrist peeking out from her sleeve, pondering for a long time, ”Hm? Who all?”

”Mr. Fuller, Orson Saban, and a few of your friends from the institute.”

”Also Alfred Garland, Sadam Vinson... Vincent Moore and the others from Yandor Sect will come over too, though they have a gathering tonight and might come a bit later.”

Amadeus’s deep eyes looked down at the girl and said in a low voice, ”I might go as well, to introduce you to the others from Yandor Sect.”

”Mm.” Nathalie yawned as if about to fall asleep, responded, and seemed to agree.

Amadeus finished drying her hair, put the towel down, ”I’ll go let Vincent Moore and the others know.”
