The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Amadeus Yancey was talking to Nicholas Fuller, then turned his head and saw the girl take her phone and leave the booth, casually closing the door behind her.

He figured Nathalie Quinlan was heading to the restroom, so he retracted his line of sight and continued chatting with Nicholas Fuller.

Rivendell restroom.

Nathalie Quinlan turned on the tap, cold water rushing down, she placed her hand under the tap, the icy water splashed over her palm, alleviating the heat from a night spent under the air conditioner, feeling slightly more comfortable.

She was just about to turn off the tap and head back.

Just then someone came out from inside, seemed to have seen her, and exclaimed in surprise, ”Nathalie?”

This voice sounded very familiar.

Nathalie Quinlan lifted her head, seeing through the restroom mirror the person standing behind her.

After a month of absence, Zevaney Kingsley was evidently doing well, dressed in dazzling attire, her face looking healthier, cheeks rosy and full, her eyes lively and bright.

”Is it really you?”

Zevaney Kingsley was much more confident compared to the last time she appeared in a sorry state, holding her clutch, she walked over to the girl, turned on the tap beside Nathalie Quinlan, washed her hands with water, then turned off the tap, looked up, and smiled slightly; ”Long time no see, how have you been lately?”

Nathalie Quinlan casually turned off the tap, took a sheet of paper towel from beside her to dry the remaining water on her hands, turned around, looked at her defiantly, and said, ”Do you have amnesia?”

Zevaney Kingsley was slightly startled, her smile gradually fading.

She didn’t respond, knowing that Nathalie Quinlan’s next sentence would definitely not be pleasant; she didn’t want to offer herself to be humiliated.

”I just wanted to say hi, after all, we’ve known each other for so long, even if we’re not friends, at least we’re not strangers. Seeing someone you know, it’s not too much to say hello, right?”

”It’s not too much.” Nathalie Quinlan let out a light laugh from her throat, looked at her defiantly, and said, ”I’m just curious whether your memory only lasts seven seconds.”

”...Forgot how you cried last time within just a month!”

Zevaney Kingsley suddenly recalled the humiliating day she was kicked out of the research institute, and her facial expression immediately froze. Yet, she had become more composed now, and didn’t let herself be led on, instead smiling faintly, ambiguously saying: ”Nathalie, I heard you went back to Beijing? How was it, did you have fun in Beijing?”

The girl threw the paper towel used for drying hands into the trash can, walked over, and gave her a deep look.

Zevaney Kingsley instinctively took two steps back under the sharp and clear gaze, then realized she had lost in terms of momentum, her eyes darkening.

”Zevaney Kingsley, I thought after suffering a few losses you would have learned, but it looks like you haven’t.” Nathalie Quinlan spoke casually: ”I’ve warned you many times, stay away from me! If you can’t understand, I don’t mind teaching you again.”

Zevaney Kingsley abruptly raised her head, her face changing dramatically.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t care what her face color showed, she put her hand in her pocket and simply said: ”I’ll give you a day to clean up your mess. If I find someone watching me again, I’ll have all your people sent back to the Kingsleys Family. I keep my word.”

Under the girl’s strong oppressive presence, Zevaney Kingsley’s throat seemed choked, unable to emit any sound, her face looking increasingly unpleasant.

Nathalie Quinlan just warned her, didn’t pay her any more attention, didn’t even ask why she was also at Rivendell, and turned around to leave.

Zevaney Kingsley watched the girl’s departing figure, a long while later, only then could she start to move her stiff shoulder, angrily flipping over the hand wash bottle on the washstand, her chest heaving violently.
