The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Nathalie Quinlan was still looking down at the message, when suddenly a heavy presence pressed down beside her, taking a seat next to her.

The man’s light mint cologne infiltrated her senses, causing Nathalie’s thoughts to be instantly interrupted, and she instinctively looked sideways at herself.

Sure enough, Amadeus Yancey had come over at some point, holding a pair of disposable slippers for her, and casually placed them underfoot.

He straightened up, saw her playing with her phone, and then looked into her eyes—his handsome face deeply contoured—and asked her, ”What’s going on?”

Nathalie once suspected he had seen her message, but Amadeus Yancey’s angle was turned away from the phone, making it impossible for him to see the content on her phone.

So he purely guessed the meaning from her expression alone.

Nathalie’s heart jolted suddenly, for the first time realizing he seemingly understood her better than she imagined.

This is practically unscientific.

”Hmm?” Amadeus noticed the girl staring at him all the while without speaking, his deep and charming voice lifting the last note, seemingly confused.

Nathalie looked at him deeply again, moved her line of sight away, leaned back, resting a hand on her brow, and put the phone back, saying: ”Nothing. Violetta Hoffman sent me a message, only spoke half and it’s unclear what she means. I’ll ask her when I get there.”

Amadeus Yancey stared at her profoundly and said, ”Related to The First Research Institute?”

Nathalie changed into the slippers, relaxed completely, sat more casually, eyelashes slightly restrained, not denying: ”Hmm, she didn’t say anything specific.”

Amadeus roughly guessed her thoughts, then lazily opened a box of milk for her, passed it over, and said casually and nobly: ”Drink some milk before sleeping.”

Nathalie glanced at the milk he was handing her, then slowly reached out: ”You’re not asking me why I’m not calling her back now.”

Amadeus’ handsome eyebrows and eyes seemed to find it amusing, his thin lips slightly red and teasing, with a tinge of laughter in his voice: ”The airplane still has more than ten hours before reaching Inderia, if you call her now, even if there is something, it will only be resolved once you arrive.”

The girl just held the milk box, pinching the straw with one hand, looking at him: ”Then what?”

It was the first time Amadeus Yancey saw her with a look of just being a spectator, his clear brow and eyes mixed with gentle light, voice low and slow: ”If The First Research Institute really had something urgent, Mr. Fuller would give you a phone call. Since Mr. Fuller hasn’t called you, it indicates it’s not extremely urgent.”

Nathalie quickly dropped her head, her lowered lashes screened emotions in her eyes.

Indeed.

Unscientific.

Her behavioral patterns were completely seen through by someone.

Her reaction piqued Amadeus Yancey’s interest, his lips curving, he pursued: ”Nathalie the Goddess, did I guess right?”

Nathalie’s earlobes felt a bit hot, without a word, she shoved the milk back into his hand, pulled up her hoodie to cover her delicate little face, then put the blindfold on, directly pretending to be asleep: ”I’m sleeping.”

Amadeus Yancey watched the sequence of actions by the girl beside him, inadvertently releasing a soft chuckle from his throat.

He considerately placed the milk back in its original spot, then had someone bring over a small blanket to cover the girl, only then did he open his laptop to start working.

Since it was the Yancey Family’s private jet, the airplane had signal, and the signal was quite good.

Up until the airplane entered the territory of Inderia, the signal on the airplane was blocked, and after flying for about another two hours, the airplane landed on the tarmac in Inderia.
