The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1932: Chapter 1932: Group 10 Is Forever the Last Car

Agnes Baker said to him, ”Williansen Barness, we are both being marginalized anyway. Even if you don’t want this newcomer in our group, we’ll still be marginalized. Since none of us came to the institute through traditional means, why discriminate against each other? I think she’s quite good; she’s been unchosen for so long and hasn’t gotten impatient. She’s someone who can remain calm while doing experiments... Every time we check results, we’re always last; the situation is already so bad, I don’t mind if it gets a little worse.”

”Treat a dead horse as if it’s still alive!”

This last sentence was the main point she wanted to make.

Seeing that both of them agreed to bring in a newcomer and that the minority must yield to the majority, Williansen had no objections. He just reminded them at the end, ”I’ve heard that the heads of the laboratory do not like Nathalie Quinlan, and Zevaney Kingsley will definitely suppress her as well. If you insist on bringing her into our group, don’t blame me if you get dragged down by her later.”

Wincent Sullivan chuckled and patted him on the shoulder, ”Then it’s decided!”

”Do all groups have a full team?”

Seeing that twenty minutes had passed, the teacher who brought Nathalie Quinlan in was truly anxious and asked again, raising her voice.

”Anyone who’s in need of a member, please speak up, don’t be shy...”

The laboratory was filled with silence in response to her.

No one was willing to offend Zevaney Kingsley for a newcomer, so naturally, no one stood up, and no matter how encouraging the teacher was, it was useless.

Everyone looked at this newcomer, who had scored incredibly, with sympathetic eyes... That’s just how The First Research Institute works; without background or backing, no matter how exceptional your skills or potential, no one is willing to give you an opportunity.

”Nathalie...” The female teacher herself had given up, turned her head, and looked apologetically at the girl, hesitating as she spoke, ”I guess that’s it for today. When we go back, I’ll see if I can get you directly assigned to a group.”

Forcing someone into a group usually doesn’t end well.

But at the moment, she couldn’t think of a better way.

The girl stood calmly in her place the whole time, and it wasn’t until this moment that she adjusted the duckbill cap with her hand, her bright fingertips looking particularly beautiful.

Her eyebrows and eyes were picturesque, with a brightness that showed no trace of the disappointment or embarrassment of being marginalized, only composure and calmness.

”No need, teacher, I can...”

She was about to say she could be in a group by herself, without joining a group.

At that moment, someone suddenly interrupted in the large laboratory: ”Teacher, our group is short of people.”

The teacher who brought Nathalie Quinlan in looked like she’d found a lifeline, immediately turning to look without hearing what the girl wanted to say.

When she saw who raised their hand, the hope in her eyes instantly dimmed, and her expression became complicated: ”Uh, your group needs people?”

The one who raised his hand was Wincent Sullivan.

The people in the large laboratory saw someone actually dared to accept this newcomer, the ’king of newcomers’, and looked towards this ’brave soul’.

Upon seeing that it was someone from Wincent Sullivan’s group, they couldn’t help but laugh.

Group Ten.

Everyone knew that Group 10 was famously the group of death, always at the bottom with no future prospects.

Anyone with a bit of a connection or strength didn’t want to join Group 10, because joining meant you had no future at the institute.

Everyone fought to get into the institute, not for glory but to make a name for themselves... Group 10 was like spoiled food, no one wanted to touch that misfortune.

”Our group is short one person.”
