The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1921: Chapter 1921: The Kingsleys Family Comes Knocking

”If it’s inconvenient for you, I can send someone over to pick you up.” It sounded considerate, but the overwhelming sense of superiority in the tone was hard to ignore.

Nathalie Quinlan just smiled, gathering the coldness in her eyes, and said calmly, ”Alright, I’ll be there in an hour.”

She hung up the phone call and decided not to think about the message from @ilovebeingskinny. She went to the bathroom for a cold shower, changed into a loose and comfortable long sweater, put on a pair of canvas shoes, went downstairs, mentioned to Amadeus Yancey, picked up her single shoulder bag, and went out first.

James Lawrence came along this time.

He reserved a booth in the lobby of the Intercontinental Hotel and booked the whole restaurant, not allowing irrelevant people to enter.

The Kingsleys Family holds an exalted status in Inderia.

Though their actions were arrogant and overbearing, the people of Inderia were used to the Kingsleys Family’s flamboyant and domineering style. Upon hearing that the family had reserved the restaurant, those intending to dine there felt uncomfortable but none dared to challenge the family.

When Nathalie Quinlan arrived, Hansel Kingsley was already seated, waiting for her.

The elder wore coarse linen clothes, appearing detached, but the tea set and dishes in front of him were all exquisite and rare.

Nathalie Quinlan glanced at the alabaster teapot set on his table, then looked at the elder with white hair and a beard, a high-minded air, and couldn’t help but curl her lips into a rather dry smile.

”Hello, Ms. Quinlan, I’m James Lawrence.” James greeted her at the door, introducing himself to the girl as she approached, and then mentioned, ”I contacted you before, via text message.”

Nathalie Quinlan tugged at the brim of her duckbill cap, expressionlessly acknowledged with a nod, indicating she understood.

James Lawrence felt a bit awkward, but having experienced the cold indifference of this young miss multiple times before, he was accustomed to it.

After all, he had encountered even more frustrating situations than this, so Nathalie Quinlan’s aloofness wasn’t particularly surprising for him.

James Lawrence composed himself, politely leading the way: ”Please follow me.”

Nathalie Quinlan followed with her hands in her pockets.

Before long, they reached the seat by the window.

James Lawrence straightened his face, respectfully reporting to the elder: ”Sixth Hall Master, the young miss has arrived.”

The elder cradled a teacup in his hands, then finally looked up, calmly glanced at the girl, and said, ”Sit.”

Nathalie Quinlan pulled out a chair and, without wasting time, began with, ”You need something from me?”

Hansel Kingsley somewhat didn’t expect her to come, yet to have this kind of attitude.

He assumed that if Nathalie Quinlan was willing to come, she would surely want to acknowledge her roots and return to the Kingsleys Family.

But her attitude... didn’t seem to suggest that intention.

He pondered briefly, not showing much expression on his face: ”I heard your research institute’s ranking results came out, and you were placed in a level 3 laboratory?”

”Seems so.” Nathalie Quinlan took a glass for herself, poured a glass of plain water, her brows and eyes carefree and indifferent, with a hint of rebelliousness.

Hansel Kingsley, for the first time, saw such a young person with such an aura, like a young wolf, clearly not someone easy to dominate, naturally defiant and difficult to deal with.

He frowned, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes, but the Kingsleys Family needed capable direct-line descent, and since Nathalie Quinlan had talent in the field of black powder and successfully entered the research institute, he had to endure and said, ”Your results shouldn’t just be a level 3 laboratory.”
