The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1190: Chapter 1190: Nathalie, do you have time for a drink of water?

”Your grandmother,” she said it extremely smoothly, without the slightest guilt.

Cindy Lawrence now understood the situation was more powerful than people. She couldn’t muster her usual magnificence, even if she hated it to death inside, she put on a look of having only a few years left: ”I’m sick, been sick for a long time, cancer. The doctor says I don’t have long to live.”

Nathalie Quinlan turned her head to look at her.

Cindy Lawrence had always had prominent bones and a face without any flesh, looking extremely harsh.

Now her harsh appearance seemed even gloomier, mainly because her complexion was sallow and she didn’t look well.

From her appearance, it could be seen she was really sick; whether it was cancer wasn’t known.

”I only have fifteen minutes.” Nathalie Quinlan pressed her lips, her voice light and teasing.

Cindy Lawrence was not very satisfied.

Emilia Sullivan, having experienced Nathalie’s coldness several times before, was overjoyed to see her relent and quickly nodded: ”Fifteen minutes is enough, fifteen minutes is enough. There’s a coffee shop across the street, let’s go over there, have a drink and talk.”

Nathalie checked the time. She originally thought of suggesting they talk directly here.

But seeing the people coming and going at the school gate, she finally agreed, sent a message to Jhovany Sullivan and the others, then followed Cindy Lawrence and Emilia Sullivan to the café across the street.

”Two iced coffees, one...” Emilia Sullivan ordered hers, then looked at the girl sitting opposite, unsure of what she wanted to drink.

She paused and asked Nathalie Quinlan, ”Nathalie, what would you like to drink?”

In the past, she wasn’t this way; she had long known Nathalie wasn’t her own child, always having a bad attitude towards Nathalie.

Always with an arrogant look in her eyes.

Now, she feigned a facade of good feelings hypocritically.

Nathalie Quinlan no longer cared about these things, looked up, and told the waiter: ”A glass of lemonade, with ice. Thank you.”

”Alright.” The waiter noted the drinks for the three of them and went to the counter to make them.

...

Emilia Sullivan found a spot by the window, the environment was serene and quiet.

In the soothing music.

She looked at the girl sitting opposite her, speaking with a complex expression: ”Ghania’s verdict is out, three years, with one year probation.”

Nathalie’s hand rested on the table, she had no reaction upon hearing this, still in a laid-back sitting posture, not even an eyelash moved.

Emilia Sullivan, seeing her reaction, lightly frowned, and then spoke softly: ”Ghania has been crying these past few days, her eyes are almost ruined from crying. Nathalie, can you let her go?”

Cindy Lawrence also chimed in at this time, ”Yes, I’m at this age already, I don’t have many good years left, if you’re going to cause a fuss, at least wait until after I’m gone. I don’t have two more years to live, just let it go, let her off this once. What she did didn’t affect you, see you’re still able to come to school and register, it didn’t affect your studies.”

”Ghania is different. Because of this incident, she can’t study abroad, Tsinghua University won’t accept her. She can only find a school to study adult education, and during probation without going abroad, can only stay in Beijing. It was just a momentary impulse from her, you’ve already caused her to be unable to attend college, do you also want to ruin her entire life?”

Cindy Lawrence, at this point, had reddened eyes, wiping a handful of tears away.

This time it wasn’t fake crying.

It was truly out of tears seeing Ghania’s outcome.

She understood what being remorseful too late meant!

With tears and snot, she involuntarily raised her voice: ”I asked the lawyer, the lawyer said that in Ghania’s case, if she could get your forgiveness, she could appeal, after which it might not be sentenced so heavily. Nathalie, let your sister go, forgive her this time!”
