Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1235: Chapter 1235: Lecherous Stares at Her

”Haha, quite the temper you’ve got there, but the more I see you, the more I like you. Not willing to become my apprentice, huh? One day, I’ll make you cry and beg to enter my Feng Qingyu’s tutelage.” Fatty watched Han Yan’s departing figure and grinned slyly again.

At night, while others were either cultivating or sleeping, and the courtyard was silent, Han Yan sat by the stone table, continuously practicing alchemy.

Although the Hall Master of Sky Gold Hall had specially selected alchemy ancient books and sent them along with his years of notes to Han Yan, being a beginner, crafting a decent artifact was still no easy task.

Like sword casting and alchemy, alchemy also typically requires an alchemy furnace, but its size is much smaller than that of a sword casting furnace, much larger than a pill furnace, somewhere in between, also inscribed with various runes, appearing much more exquisite than a sword casting furnace, yet more robust than a pill furnace.

Beside the stone table were already many discarded pieces of meteorite gold, all failures of previous attempts. However, Han Yan did not give up, continuously making hand gestures, tirelessly practicing alchemy techniques.

Unknowingly, a fine layer of sweat appeared on her forehead, her expression increasingly serious, while on the alchemy furnace, a delicate necklace was gradually taking shape.

This is called a Dragon Pattern Necklace, capable of gathering Heaven and Earth Power, beneficial for cultivation. However, because the grade of such alchemy artifacts is too low, they cannot operate independently and must be driven by the cultivator’s own qi; thus, typically only Sword Masters and above are able to use them. At this realm, the Heaven and Earth Power needed for each advancement is enormous, so the power gathered by the Dragon Pattern Necklace is akin to a drop in the ocean, making its practical value quite limited.

But precisely because its grade is so low, it’s highly suitable for practicing techniques.

Seeing the Dragon Pattern Necklace about to be successfully crafted, a look of joy appeared on Han Yan’s face, but just then, she heard a soft crackling sound, and the vaguely formed Dragon Pattern Necklace split apart.

Failed again, it seems that alchemy is not so easy to learn after all. Han Yan wiped away the sweat from her forehead, letting out a small sigh.

”Just a mere Dragon Pattern Necklace, yet you craft it with such difficulty.” A playful voice came to her ears.

Han Yan turned her head and saw Fatty Feng’s irritating face.

Remembering this guy’s despicable actions, Han Yan looked alert and instinctively shrank back a bit.

”Relax, even Old Man Gong can see your potential. He specifically went to the North Abyss Misty Plain to pick Moon Shadow Orchid to help you with meridian clearing and marrow washing, showing your talent is quite good. No need for bone touching anymore.” Seeing Han Yan’s cautious demeanor, Fatty looked Han Yan up and down with a ”lustful” gaze and said.

Though his behavior was despicable, at least he was considered a senior expert on par with Gong Hongru, so Han Yan thought he wouldn’t deceive her with such words, ultimately feeling relieved.

Not interested in wasting words with him, Han Yan took out a few more pieces of meteorite gold, made hand gestures, and continued to refine the Dragon Pattern Necklace.

”If you keep crafting like this, you might not be able to finish a Dragon Pattern Necklace in one night. Tsk tsk, who taught you that technique? It’s practically misleading novices.”

Han Yan couldn’t be bothered with him and turned her face away, out of sight, out of mind.

”Wrong, wrong, this hand gesture should use the Sky Sun Technique. Why are you using the Feiyun Technique? Even if you manage to craft the Dragon Pattern Necklace, the quality will be greatly reduced.”

”Wrong again, wrong again. Is that how the Seven-star Dragon Seal is used? I remember those worthless instructors at Longyan Academy taught this way centuries ago. I clearly reminded them, but they haven’t changed.”

”It’s over, it’s over. Learning alchemy from these useless people will ruin you.”

Although Han Yan turned a blind eye, she wasn’t immune to irritation. Fatty Feng’s unceasing chatter beside her was indeed annoying.

”Crack,” the Dragon Pattern Necklace that was only one step away from completion emitted another crisp sound, fracturing again into a pile of scrap metal.

”See, see! I said you wouldn’t succeed even by morning at this rate. Now you believe me?” Fatty continued to clamor.

”If it weren’t for your endless chatter, I would’ve finished it long ago.” Han Yan retorted unwillingly.

Though she spoke those words, Han Yan knew well that with her current technique, successfully crafting the Dragon Pattern Necklace wasn’t easy.

”Hmph, with your technique, you might not succeed in one night, and even if you do, it would be junk. Let me show you my alchemy technique.” Feng Qingyu, uninterested in arguing with Han Yan, took out a few pieces of meteorite gold and then made his hand gestures.

Han Yan knew this Fatty had astounding cultivation but hadn’t realized he knew alchemy. Her curiosity was piqued, and she focused on watching his hand gestures.

Light and shadow runes danced gracefully in Feng Qingyu’s hands, the eerie blue flames seemingly becoming spirited, joyfully flickering. The meteorite gold swiftly melted, gathered, constantly changing with his hand gestures.

In less than an hour, a beautiful Dragon Pattern Necklace appeared before Han Yan’s eyes. Even without mentioning its ability to gather Heaven and Earth Power, its aesthetic appeal alone was enchanting.

”See? This is the true alchemy technique. Now you know my prowess. Hurry up and become my apprentice.” Feng Qingyu spoke proudly.

”Not really impressive.” Han Yan replied nonchalantly, though secretly admiring him.

Though this Fatty was somewhat shameless and had a sordid smile, it was undeniable that his alchemy techniques were indeed exquisite and mysterious, opening Han Yan’s mind wide.

However, regarding apprenticeship, Lady Mu simply acted like she hadn’t heard it.

”What’s with ’not really impressive’? How about you try then?” Feng Qingyu retorted, dissatisfied.

”Alright.” Han Yan eagerly replied.

Picking up several pieces of meteorite gold, Han Yan made her hand gestures. After practicing for so long, she had become exceptionally adept at hand gestures, only lacking a key insight. Feng Qingyu’s previous demonstration had opened her mind as if it suddenly clicked.

With a flick of her sleeve, hand gestures flowed like water, and before long, a dazzling silver Dragon Pattern Necklace appeared before her eyes.

”How about it? I’ve crafted the Dragon Pattern Necklace well, haven’t I?” Having finally succeeded, Han Yan said joyfully, with radiant excitement.

Feng Qingyu stared dazedly at the Dragon Pattern Necklace in Han Yan’s hand, not recovering for a while.

Han Yan’s earlier alchemy techniques partly drew from his, another part clearly learned from the Sky Gold Hall Master’s collections and notes, but the final part he didn’t recognize, only finding its profundity wondrously innate, subtly aligning with the laws of creation.

Despite how casually Feng Qingyu spoke about alchemy earlier, as if it were trivial at his hands, he knew well that starting his study of alchemy took over a month to grasp the basics, later merging benefits from many schools, refining, and integrating his insights, consuming over ten years of effort.

Han Yan managed to observe once and apply it, blending various alchemy techniques into one while adding her own understanding, completely beyond Feng Qingyu’s expectations.

A genius, an extraordinary genius! This visit to Longyan Academy wasn’t in vain; she discovered such an extraordinary talent! Feng Qingyu looked at Han Yan, nearly moved to tears with excitement.

”What are you planning?” Feeling extremely uncomfortable under his ”sleazy” and ”lustful” gaze, Han Yan asked cautiously.
