Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1203: Chapter 1203: Is There Really a Line of People Waiting to Slap Her in the Face?

”What good is talent if you don’t cultivate it? In the Holy Court Continent, Sword Dao is supreme. Although the academy strongly urges disciples to practice various magic skills to cultivate true strength, ultimately, they’re more focused on Sword Dao and are reluctant to devote effort to strange and mysterious arts.

Yet, the demands of our Alchemy Technique are too high. Eventually, one must even be proficient in medicine to advance further. Who would be willing to spend more time on this?” Another tutor shook his head with a bitter smile.

”Yeah, a few years ago, I came across several disciples whose talents were passable. They showed some interest at first, but when they realized it was more complicated than Sword Casting Technique and Array Formation Technique, they refused to continue learning. They ended up just coming over to get a few Trial Tokens,” the third tutor said with a sigh.

”Sigh, at this rate, the ancient Alchemy Technique of our Danxin Hall is in danger of becoming extinct,” several people lamented simultaneously.

”Master Chang, Lord Chu, Mr. Zhu, there’s no need to worry too much. All of you are at the height of your powers; there is still time. You will eventually find suitable disciples.” At this moment, a young man beside them consoled, it was none other than Ye Fengyun, who once had a grudge against Mu Hanyan.

Despite being a disciple, as Wenren Qingqiu’s first disciple, his status was quite special and not much inferior to these tutors.

While comforting the Alchemy Dao tutors, Ye Fengyun felt a bit ashamed; these old fellows were still in pretty good shape and could be considered vigorous despite their age. However, to calm them down, he could only comfort them in this way.

”We hope, thanks to Young Master Ye’s kind words, we can find a suitable disciple to pass on the Alchemy Skill of Danxin Hall,” the tutors remarked with faint hope.

”Huh, what is that...” Master Chang gazed out the window in surprise.

”It seems to be Han Yan; why is she coming to our Danxin Hall?” Tutor Chu looked several times before realizing who he was referring to.

The image of Han Yan as a playboy young master had been ingrained in everyone’s minds, though, after the battle with Jiang Qiling, everyone knew she was actually a girl. Yet, seeing her suddenly in a dress again was quite stunning, almost making others fail to react momentarily.

”It’s said Han Yan is immensely talented; it would be great if she came to learn our Alchemy Technique,” Master Chang said happily.

”Indeed, they used to say she was a playboy and incompetent, but now it seems she’s not as bad as an evildoer. Teaching her the ancient Alchemy Technique of Danxin Hall would allow us to honor our ancestors’ legacy,” Tutor Chu said with excitement on his face.

”Hmph, clearly she has good aptitude in Sword Casting and Array Formation Techniques. If she focused, she could very well become a master of a generation, but no, she can’t settle down and now wants to learn our Alchemy Technique. With such a fickle and indecisive nature, you’re actually expecting her to inherit our Alchemy Skill, which seems too generous,” Master Zhu said disdainfully, snorting.

”Mr. Zhu, what do you mean by this?” Master Chang and Tutor Chu looked at Zhu Tianping, puzzled.

Not long ago, he shared their sentiment lamenting over the lack of successors in Danxin Hall. Why did he suddenly seem like a different person?

If truth be told, the exceptional talent previously exhibited by Han Yan was precisely the kind of disciple they had longed for, so why wasn’t Zhu Tianping pleased but rather seemed to hold animosity?

”Mr. Zhu, the purpose of our Long Yan Academy is to encourage disciples to practice more strange and mysterious arts, to have more Law Comprehension so that when they advance to the Holy-grade, they can further their progress. Han Yan’s actions are understandable,” Ye Fengyun suppressed his inner excitement, advising.

He had previously held deep prejudices against Han Yan, often opposing her and felt humiliated after being bested by her. This led to a deep-seated resentment. However, as he got to know Han Yan better, he realized he had misunderstood her, leading to a subtle change in his mindset, even developing a peculiar fondness.

However, he had no interest in the noble preferences of thousands of years ago and quickly suppressed that unusual fondness.

When he saw Han Yan’s stunning appearance at the freshman trial, his heart was stirred once again. But Han Yan’s presence in the Glazed Glass Holy Robe, with its sacred yet authoritative aura, left no room for any profane thoughts, while also making him feel somewhat ashamed of his own inadequacy.

Therefore, seeing Han Yan in the Illusion Dragon Branch, he was excited yet joyful but still kept these feelings to himself, unwilling to let others see his anomaly.

”No doubt, but how long does it take to focus on Sword Casting or Array Formation Techniques? At least half a year, if not a year. Han Yan has only been in the academy for half a month, and she’s not only learned Sword Casting Technique and Array Formation Technique but now comes to our Danxin Hall to learn Alchemy Technique. It’s too impetuous and arrogant. Does she really think the Alchemy Skill of Danxin Hall is so easy to grasp?” Although Ye Fengyun’s explanation was reasonable, Zhu Tianping still sneered.

Seeing Zhu Tianping unmoved, both Tutor Chu and Master Chang felt a bit helpless. Among the three of them, Zhu Tianping’s Alchemy Skill was the most exquisite, but his temperament was also the most stubborn. Once he believed in something, not even ten oxen could pull him back.

Both were a bit puzzled; Han Yan coming to Danxin Hall was no bad thing by any means. Surely Zhu Tianping wouldn’t fail to see that, so why did he resent Han Yan so much, and even seem to harbor hostility?

Ye Fengyun smiled bitterly. While Tutor Chu and Master Chang were unaware of certain things, he knew them well.

The herbs needed by the Illusion Dragon Branch were originally supplied by the Li’s Commerce of An Yang County. Zhu Tianping’s uncle’s wife’s brother’s second aunt’s youngest son-in-law happened to be the Young Master of the Li Family. Although the relation was quite distant, Zhu Tianping hailed from a family of humble origins with few relatives, so he valued even distant kin greatly.

Originally, An Yang Li’s Family was small and insignificant, but after getting the order from the Illusion Dragon Academy, it immediately became one of the biggest aristocratic families locally.

This is what they call ”when one person achieves enlightenment, even their poultry and dogs reach the heavens.”

Although it can’t be said that Zhu Tianping acted with favoritism or corruption in making Li Family’s fortune, his mediation indeed played a crucial role, making the whole Li Family treat him with utmost respect, seeing him as a benefactor and even erecting an Eternal Life Tablet for him in the ancestral hall.

For Zhu Tianping, who came from a civilian background, this was a tremendous honor.

Who knew that shortly after the Eternal Life Tablet was erected, the Illusion Dragon Branch’s order was snatched away by the then unknown Nanyan Commerce, all due to Han Yan. Feeling disgraced and guilty towards the Li Family, naturally, Zhu Tianping harbored deep resentment towards Han Yan.

If he didn’t see her, he could stomach the hatred, but now that Han Yan came to Danxin Hall to learn Alchemy, how could he show a good face?

”No matter what, Han Yan coming to Danxin Hall to learn Alchemy is a good thing. As mentors, we should be more forgiving towards her,” Tutor Chu advised.

”Hmph, do you think the ancient Alchemy Technique of Danxin Hall is so easy to learn?” Zhu Tianping snorted coldly.

”Mr. Zhu, what are you planning to do? You must not act rashly,” hearing Zhu Tianping’s words, the faces of Tutor Chu and Master Chang changed simultaneously.

Qiu Yongcheng and Tian Wenliang are still bedridden, and even if they recover, they are destined to be ruined individuals. Meanwhile, Nie Fangsheng, after facing setbacks, is said to be deeply affected. Nowadays, apart from occasionally lecturing on Sword Casting Technique, he spends most of his time in seclusion. They are reluctant to see Zhu Tianping meeting the same fate.
