Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1226: Chapter 1226: Unmatched Moment in the Spotlight

Hall Master Deng staggered forward, clutching the Sword Pet and burst into wailing tears.

Back when he wanted the Beast Egg of the Fierce Stone Demon, he ventured deep into the Longyan Mountain, almost losing his life before he could barely get it. Afterwards, he exhausted his mental state trying to hatch and tame it.

It could be said that he was even more fond of this Sword Pet than his own son; seeing it injured like this, how could he not be heartbroken?

Looking at Hall Master Deng weeping profusely, and then at the tragic state of the Fierce Stone Demon, Masters Zhu and Liang were speechless for a long time.

They were originally worried about Han Yan being in danger; now they realized their worries were completely unnecessary. Actually, they should have been worried about the Hall Master’s Sword Pet instead.

The other disciples were even more dumbfounded, dropping their jaws to the ground. Many of them had seen the might of the Fierce Stone Demon firsthand; even if Masters Zhu and Liang encountered it, they might end up in a sorry state. And that was still the past Fierce Stone Demon; according to Hall Master Deng, it had now understood the innate ability of the Petrification Technique engraved in its ancient bloodline, doubling its strength.

No one could have expected that such a powerful Exotic Beast would meet such an end when encountering Han Yan.

Looking at Han Yan, everyone seemed to see a demon.

”I apologize, Hall Master Deng; I didn’t know it was your Sword Pet,” Han Yan said apologetically, feeling she should explain herself.

Hall Master Deng glanced at her, his gaze somewhat dull.

”Actually, it’s your fault too. With such a powerful Sword Pet, you should have kept a good watch on it. This time, it’s lucky that I was bold enough not to be scared to death by it. If it ran into someone else, what if it scared the kids?” Han Yan continued earnestly.

Hall Master Deng suddenly wanted to cry; obviously, it was my Sword Pet injured so severely by you, yet how come it’s all my fault? But thinking carefully, it really was his fault. If it wasn’t Han Yan it ran into but someone else, the consequences would indeed have been unpredictable.

No matter what, the attack was far too heavy-handed.

Hall Master Deng was both heartbroken and angry, yet knowing he was at fault, he felt blood rush to his head in frustration, his face flushing red.

”Well, it’s getting late; I’ll go back now and come again tomorrow,” Han Yan quickly took her leave, fearing he might blame her if he had a stroke.

Several tutors had already been ruined at her hands; if another one fell, even jumping into the Longyan River wouldn’t clear her name.

”You’re coming again?” Hall Master Deng and Masters Zhu and Liang exclaimed in unison.

They thought with Hall Master Deng’s Sword Pet injured so badly, Han Yan, out of guilt, would let them go, but who knew she would still come. This time it was the Fierce Stone Demon that fell; next time, who knows who it would be? They began to feel deeply worried about their own safety.

”The Beast Taming Technique truly is marvelous; I’ve just scratched the surface. How can I give up halfway?” Han Yan said confidently.

Though the Beast Taming Technique to tame the Taowu by beating it into submission was valuable, Han Yan’s practice of the Beast Taming Technique was not solely for taming beasts. It was to comprehend the Heaven and Earth Rules for the upcoming Secret Realm trial and to further comprehend the Star Falling Eight Desolate Sword.

So, she had to learn the Beast Taming Technique and couldn’t give up halfway.

”Alright, we got it. You head back first,” Hall Master Deng said helplessly.

”Then I’ll take my leave. Also, take care,” Han Yan, seeing his eyes brimming with tears, couldn’t bear it and added a word of comfort. Actually, the Fierce Stone Demon’s injuries weren’t too severe, but its state was still heartbreaking to see.

Hearing the words ’take care,’ Hall Master Deng couldn’t hold it in any longer, and tears flowed freely.

Han Yan didn’t dare stay any longer, quickly fleeing with Zirong.

”Have you heard? Han Yan caused another massive commotion at the Beast Taming Hall practicing the Beast Taming Technique?”

”Which tutor got ruined this time? These tutors really, after the lessons from Lord Qiu, Lord Nie, Lord Tian, and Mr. Zhu, they still dared to trouble Han Yan.”

”This time no tutor got in trouble, and no one troubled Han Yan. But Hall Master Deng’s Sword Pet, which he risked half of his life to obtain, somehow ran into Han Yan and got beaten half-dead. It was reportedly barely saved.”

”Oh, you mean that Fierce Stone Demon? I heard it was one of the strongest Exotic Beasts on the Holy Court Continent. Even the Royal Griffin might not win against it unless in an incredibly disadvantageous position.”

”Who else could it be but the Fierce Stone Demon? I heard Hall Master Deng’s Fierce Stone Demon fully awakened its bloodline and comprehended the innate superpower, the Petrification Technique. It could be said to be impregnable, yet unfortunately, it met Han Yan and ended up with not a single intact spot, even its horn broken off. Its tragic state almost made my cousin, who is training at the Beast Taming Hall, cry.”

”So terrifying, Han Yan is truly terrifying. I didn’t really believe it when others called her a jinx, but now I surely do. Whoever encounters her is doomed.”

Overnight, Han Yan’s name spread across Long Yan Academy again, her fame unmatched for a time.

Of course, this kind of reputation was not what Lady Mu wished to hear.

Early the next morning, after breakfast, Han Yan planned to visit the Beast Taming Hall again with Zirong.

”Good morning, Senior Sister Mu.” Just as she stepped out the courtyard, a few young disciples in academy sword robes approached.

Their expressions respectful, yet their gazes were wandering, as if filled with fear of Han Yan.

”And who might you be?” Han Yan asked in confusion, seeing unfamiliar faces.

”I am Liu Xia Long, a direct disciple of Hall Master Deng from the Beast Taming Hall. These are direct disciples of Masters Liang and Zhu,” the young man leading introduced himself.

”Ah, My respects, Senior Brother Liu,” Han Yan politely greeted them. Her mind was even more puzzled why they had come to Wenjian Valley so early in the morning.

”No need for formality, Senior Sister Mu. Master had me inform you that the Beast Taming Hall is in desperate need of renovation these next few days, so it’s better you don’t come. To avoid disrupting your cultivation, Master and Masters Liang and Zhu specifically sent us with their lifetime insights on beast taming along with some beast taming literature. Please go through and count them,” Liu Xia Long waved his hand, and the other disciples quickly brought in piles upon piles, weighing over a thousand pounds of ancient books, notes, and insights.

”Oh, and here’s the Trial Token. Master said that since you readily subdued his Sword Pet and the Fierce Stone Demon now has nightmares, waking up screaming your name and trembling all over, it proves that your beast taming technique is already brilliant, so he sent the Trial Token especially for you.” Liu Xia Long said, handing over a Trial Token.

”This...” Han Yan, holding the list and taking the token, was dumbfounded and twitched at the corners of her mouth.

It seemed Hall Master Deng was indeed scared by her; not only did he not want her to return to the Beast Taming Hall, but he didn’t even want to see her again, directly sending the Trial Token along.
