Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”Rubbish! Did you discuss with me before borrowing my Holy Dragon Sword Robe? It’s clearly theft!” Old Man Gong cursed angrily.

”How can you call it theft? It’s not the first time I’ve borrowed your robe, and I’ve returned it each time. Have you ever seen a thief return what they’ve stolen?” Fatty Feng retorted, enraged, standing up and growling.

”How dare you! Two hundred years ago, you stole my sword robe to sneak into girls’ homes, causing chaos at Long Yan Academy; a hundred years ago, you stole my sword robe and did it again, causing all the female disciples to be on high alert. This time, you stole my sword robe, and you again did that shameful thing.

Your age is no excuse; shouldn’t you care a bit about your reputation? My reputation is about to be ruined!” Gong Hongru jumped up and down in anger as he spoke.

Han Yan realized the Fatty is a repeat offender. No wonder even the consistently calm Gong Hongru was so furious; having such a troublesome friend is truly a bane.

Perverse habits persisted for hundreds of years — this old rogue was indeed relentless.

”What do you mean by touching others? I only thought their aptitude was good, so I wanted to check their bones and see if they are suitable to inherit my legacy, and help them clear their meridians; once they feel the benefits, they’ll be thanking me endlessly. What do you know?” Fatty replied defiantly.

”Nonsense! Checking bones is checking bones, where’s the need to touch there?” Gong Hongru’s beard trembled with rage. He refrained from shouting vulgarities with Han Yan present.

”There’s nothing I can do! This bone-touching method is passed down in the Feng family. If you want to blame someone, blame my Feng family ancestor. What does it have to do with me?” Fatty Feng lamented.

”Hmph!” Han Yan scorned silently. Though she hadn’t seen the Feng family’s bone-touching method, she hadn’t missed the fat rogue’s sleazy satisfaction when he was touching everyone. And he only touched females? Definitely, if he touched males too, Han Yan would be too disgusted to eat.

Despite his eloquence, Han Yan’s impression of this old pervert remained unchanged.

”Return my sword robe! If you dare steal it again for misdeeds, I will cut ties with you forever!” Gong Hongru barked, looking like an enraged child.

Making someone as feared as Gong Hongru at Long Yan Academy revert to such childish behavior — perhaps only this Fatty could do so; there’s certainly no second person like him.

”Returning it is no big deal! Do you think I care?” Fatty grudgingly handed back the Holy Dragon Sword Robe and complained, ”When you tricked me into picking those Moon Shadow Orchids for you, why didn’t you threaten to cut ties?”

Han Yan now understood that Gong Hongru picking Moon Shadow Orchids at North Abyss Misty Plain had the Fatty’s involvement.

”I thought you had reformed back then, but who knew at your age you’d still be shameless!” Gong Hongru huffed.

”Enough! I’m tired of talking to you. You asked me for help and said you owed me a favor; now I’m here to call in that favor.” Fatty said.

”Go ahead; what do you want me to do?” Gong Hongru asked seriously.

”Very simple. Your disciple has good aptitude; I want to take her as a disciple and pass on my legacy.” Fatty pointed at Han Yan.

”No way!” Han Yan sprang up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on before Gong Hongru could reply.

What a joke! Her reputation as Long Yan’s leading lady was already bad enough; if she became the disciple of this old rogue, she’d never live down her infamy.

Even worse, if she became his disciple, he’d inevitably have the right to ”touch bones”, just thinking about Fatty’s sleazy smile made Han Yan shudder.

”What? You dare refuse? Do you know who Feng Qingyu is? Know how lucky you are that Feng Qingyu wishes to take you as a disciple?” Fatty glared, his eyes bulging with pride.

”Of course, I know! You’re nothing but shameless, taking advantage of little girls at your age...” Han Yan replied disdainfully.

With Gong Hongru here, she needn’t fear Fatty’s actions.

”Ah, Old Man Gong, tell him who Feng Qingyu is?” Fatty interrupted Han Yan, addressing Gong Hongru.

”Well, this Fatty’s skills are indeed impressive; if he wanted to take action, even the Lord of the Academy might struggle against him.” Gong Hongru admitted.

”Really that capable?” Han Yan was surprised. She had underestimated him after catching him off guard, now realizing the rogue was indeed formidable.

”Hmph, had I not dismissed petty disputes, how would you have benefited earlier?” Feng Qingyu boasted.

Han Yan rolled her eyes; dismissing petty disputes yet brazenly taking advantage of juniors — what logic is this?

”Yes, he’s skilled, but his character... as you described — shameless, unscrupulous, lowly.” Gong Hongru added bluntly.

Han Yan chuckled inside; her usually stern Master was indeed sharp with insults.

”What do you mean shameless? I’m talking about checking bones, checking bones.” Feng Qingyu’s face was flushed, angrily explaining.

”Regardless of your excuse, I can’t decide this; Han Yan chooses to follow whoever she wishes. As her Master, I can’t interfere. Remember, it cost a Limitless Saint Transformation Pill and taking in freeloaders to bring her in. If you wish to take her as a disciple, it won’t be easy.” Gong Hongru yawned and left, paying no heed to Feng Qingyu.

Han Yan sensed deeper meaning in her Master’s words, perhaps aiming to secure more benefits for her like Wenren Qingqiu had.

However, thinking about Fatty’s vile acts, especially the ”bone-touching” method, Han Yan was resolute: no matter the benefits, she’d never worship this old rogue.

”Tell me, what would it take for you to accept me as your Master? Mention any Heavenly Materials, Earthly Treasures, cultivation techniques, secret books — whatever you want.” Fatty Feng, understanding Gong Hongru’s implication, responded boldly.

”Forget it! I’ll never accept you as my Master!” Han Yan, firm in her decision, turned and left for her residence without another word.
