Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1222: Chapter 1222: Mu Hanyan ”Wins the Lottery” Again

”Roar!” The Fierce Stone Demon instantly reverted back to its original state, its eyes becoming even more blood-red, letting out a thunderous roar filled with rage as it charged at Han Yan once more. It seemed that although the earlier strike had not seriously injured it, it had caused it considerable pain, completely igniting its fury.

Mu Hanyan felt a sinking feeling in her heart; she hadn’t expected the Innate Ability of this Fierce Stone Demon to be so formidable. After being petrified, its defense was so strong that even her Nine Heavens Star Falling Sword had difficulty breaking through. Now, it was becoming troublesome.

Seeing the Fierce Stone Demon charge again, Mu Hanyan could only employ her movement technique to evade its edge. The Nine Heavens Star Falling Sword consumed a lot of Qi, and the previous strike had already used up a tenth of her Qi. At this rate, if she continued for over ten more strikes, she would be exhausted long before the Fierce Stone Demon was defeated.

This was even after her power had increased significantly; back when she had just comprehended the Nine Heavens Star Falling Sword, three strikes would have completely depleted her Qi, leaving her absolutely incapable of continuing the battle.

Relying on her keen Six Senses, Mu Hanyan began a guerrilla battle with the Fierce Stone Demon. However, how could a human physique compare to that of an Exotic Beast? As the battle went on, the Fierce Stone Demon seemed to grow more vigorous, roaring ferociously with wild energy, while Mu Hanyan gradually felt herself running out of steam.

No, this is not the way to go!

...

As Mu Hanyan was desperately entangled with the Fierce Stone Demon, others had already started to leave the Beast Taming Room one after another. For them, simply taming the weakest Wind Spirit Rabbit was not too challenging, as it was not even truly considered taming.

”Eh? We’ve all finished, but hasn’t Mu Hanyan finished yet?” Soon, everyone noticed that except for Mu Hanyan, everyone else had successfully and effortlessly left the Beast Taming Room.

Due to the Seal, they couldn’t hear the beastly roars coming from the Beast Taming Room where Mu Hanyan was.

”With her natural talent, it’s impossible she can’t tame just a Wind Spirit Rabbit, right?” someone said in disbelief.

”Hard to say; as they say, each has their strengths and weaknesses. Maybe Beast Taming is her Achilles’ heel,” someone speculated.

”That’s true; I said there couldn’t be such an unparalleled person who excels in everything. Everyone has their weak points.” This speculation allowed many people to breathe a sigh of relief, after all, living in the same era as such a prodigious talent and learning from the same master was also too much pressure.

Even Master Liang looked at the tightly closed door in puzzlement: Could it be true that Beast Taming is Mu Hanyan’s greatest weakness?

Just then, urgent footsteps came from behind, and Deng Yingjie and Master Zhu rushed over, looking anxious, wiping sweat from their foreheads as they ran.

”Hall Master, what’s happened? Why are you in such a rush?” Master Liang asked as he stepped forward.

Other disciples also greeted them respectfully, curiously looking at the two.

”Have any of you seen my Fierce Stone Demon?” Hall Master Deng urgently asked everyone.

Everyone shook their heads.

”Hall Master Deng, has your Fierce Stone Demon gone missing?” Master Liang asked with concern.

”Yes, I left it to guard the library this morning, but it was nowhere to be seen when I returned.” Hall Master Deng said.

”Isn’t it your Sword Pet? Can’t you use Beast Taming Technique to find it?” Master Liang said, not worried at all, to Hall Master Deng.

”If the Beast Taming Technique worked, I wouldn’t have come here. You see, the Fierce Stone Demon’s Bloodline Awakening happened again a few days ago, and it finally comprehended the Innate Ability, Petrification Technique. With its power greatly enhanced, the original contract I established with it was no longer as effective. I was trying to create a new contract, but who knew it would run off without a trace,” Hall Master Deng said with a bitter smile.

”Could it have gone to another branch?” Master Liang speculated.

”We’ve searched them all. If it had gone to another college, someone would have spotted it or caused some commotion, but there’s no news at all,” Master Zhu chimed in.

”So, where could it have gone, did it leave the academy?” As Master Liang said this, his face changed slightly.

”That’s exactly what I’m most worried about. If it left the Capital and were spotted by another cultivator, they would surely attack it. Although it’s been a Sword Pet of mine for years, it’s still hard to suppress its beast nature fully. How could it meekly submit to being captured? Its recent Bloodline Awakening has made it several times stronger than before, and if it starts fighting, who knows how many lives it could endanger? If it becomes bloodthirsty, even innocent civilians could be at risk,” Hall Master Deng stated worriedly.

”Don’t worry too much, Hall Master Deng, let’s continue searching. It might not be as bad as we think.” Master Liang also shivered at the thought of the consequences, trying to comfort Hall Master Deng.

”Hall Master, do you think it might have gone to the Beast Taming Room? I remember it used to go there to scare people,” a disciple suggested.

”Who else hasn’t come out?” Hearing this, Hall Master Deng’s eyes lit up.

The Fierce Stone Demon was not that old, just having recently matured. When it was slightly younger, it used to run to the Beast Taming Room to scare people. But since it was a contracted Sword Pet, it never harmed anyone. It would often leave quietly after scaring people half to death or making them faint. Then, as a favor, it would help by slapping the Exotic Beast they were meant to tame dead, so they could leave the Beast Taming Room once they woke up.

If it was the same situation this time, it would just be a false alarm.

”Mu Hanyan,” a disciple said in a buzzing voice.

”All the other disciples have successfully tamed the Wind Spirit Rabbit, except for Mu Hanyan. If I’m not mistaken, she’s most likely encountered the Hall Master’s Sword Pet,” Master Liang added.

He said, after all, with Mu Hanyan’s aptitude, no matter how incompetent, it wouldn’t be impossible to tame just a Wind Spirit Rabbit, right? Now it seems the likeliest scenario is that the Fierce Stone Demon came to scare people again, causing Mu Hanyan to be delayed a bit.

Hall Master Deng also realized this possibility, letting out a long breath.

”However, she doesn’t seem to know about the Fierce Stone Demon,” Zirong added.

Previously, when new disciples came to the Beast Taming Hall, the masters would mention the Fierce Stone Demon, so everyone would be mentally prepared and pretend to be dead if necessary. Once it got bored, it would leave by itself. Today, Master Liang, perhaps due to being too concerned about Mu Hanyan, hurried to leave, forgetting to bring this up.

”What!” Hall Master Deng’s smile froze on his face.

If it were anyone else, who didn’t know about the Fierce Stone Demon, they might faint from fright. But how could Mu Hanyan be scared unconscious? She most likely fought back. Given that the Fierce Stone Demon’s Bloodline has awakened again, the original contract can no longer suppress it. If a fight broke out, and the Fierce Stone Demon got too aggressive, Mu Hanyan would likely be in grave danger.
