Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1233: Chapter 1233: Meeting Again

”Nine Heavens, Star Fall!” Han Yan executed a sword slash.

”Good swordsmanship!” the fat man praised, waving his fan-like large palm forcefully.

An overwhelming force surged toward them, causing the girl’s longsword to tilt and be swept aside, yet the palm force still rushed like a tidal wave toward Han Yan.

Although Han Yan hadn’t dared to act recklessly just now, she was prepared.

Her figure flickered and disappeared from sight, using the Shadow Shifting Barrier Technique.

”Interesting, more and more interesting.” The fat man unexpectedly showed a look of delight, clasping his hands together as Qi enveloped him like an invisible defensive aura.

”Boom!” With a muffled sound, Han Yan’s hidden form collided with the aura and reappeared.

”I want to see, what can you do to break my defense?” the fat man said playfully, looking at Han Yan as a cat would a mouse.

A trace of smile appeared in Han Yan’s eyes.

Despite crashing heavily into the defensive aura, she wasn’t harmed in the slightest; the powerful rebound force seemed non-existent to her. This, of course, was due to the Cangxuan Cloud Silk and the Glazed Glass Holy Robe.

As her power increased, Cangxuan Cloud Silk’s Absolute Defense was becoming inadequate for major tasks, yet combined with the Glazed Glass Holy Robe’s defense, Han Yan still possessed a defense far surpassing that of other experts of the same level.

The combination of Absolute Defense and Shadow Shifting produced unfailing results, this time being no exception. After comprehending Nine Heavens Star Fall, this all-round offensive and defensive combination was even more powerful.

With a crisp shout from Han Yan, Sword Light slashed through like a star falling.

The invisible aura was cut open with one blow, then it descended directly toward the fat man.

The fat man never dreamed that his pride and joy, an all-encompassing defensive aura, would be broken by Han Yan so easily. Hastily, he was forced by Han Yan into a flurry.

His hands waved chaotically, stirring bursts of Qi, slightly altering the unstoppable sword by half a foot, but still a cool breeze brushed his ear as a lock of hair was cut by the sword edge.

The fat man was greatly frightened, leaped back suddenly, retreating ten yards away.

”Not bad, haha, it’s really not bad.” The fat man laughed heartily, his figure rose into the air, disappearing once again.

It seems this guy also wants to save face, unwilling to make a big scene that’s hard to wrap up. Han Yan secretly felt lucky, sheathed the longsword. The reason she gained a bit of advantage just now was ultimately due to her combination of Shadow Shifting, Cangxuan Cloud Silk, Glazed Glass Holy Robe, and Nine Heavens Star Fall catching the opponent off guard. Evidently, the opponent didn’t really intend to fight her, merely entertaining her with a few palms, otherwise, it wasn’t a matter of advantage, but whether she could save her life.

”Eh.” Beside her, the girl suddenly uttered a low cry, a puzzled expression on her face.

”What’s wrong?” Han Yan asked curiously, noting her strange expression.

”How am I fine?” The girl looked at her hands, then looked at her body, her expression even more puzzled.

”What do you mean ’fine’?” Han Yan asked.

”Oh, I was talking about my meridians. A few days ago, while cultivating, I accidentally encountered a mishap, causing damage to my meridians. Even after taking elixirs for several days, they didn’t fully heal. How come they’re completely healed now? Could it be something that fat man did?” the girl speculated.

”Let me see.” Han Yan held the girl’s pulse gate.

Being both women and considering Han Yan’s earlier kind warning, which prevented her from suffering more, the girl didn’t reject her.

Han Yan, using her Divine Sense, carefully examined the girl’s meridians several times without detecting any signs of injury.

”Could that sneaky fat man have actually healed her injuries?” This was the only possibility.

Though the fat man helped the girl greatly, it didn’t change his sleazy and despicable nature, so Han Yan still didn’t have much affection for him.

Saying goodbye to the girl, Han Yan and her companions returned to Wenjian Valley. On the way, Han Yan secretly lamented, how could the academy have such a vile and crafty master, especially a Holy Dragon Master? Long Yan Academy’s reputation, built over tens of thousands of years, is ruined by him.

Passing by the courtyard of her master, Han Yan seemed to faintly hear conversation from inside, secretly surprised. Gong Hongru normally either ”secludes” himself asleep or disappears without a trace, rarely socializes; today a guest actually visited, which was indeed rare.

”Han Yan is back, come in.” Han Yan was quietly curious when Gong Hongru’s voice came through.

Han Yan pushed open the gate and saw Gong Hongru and an elderly man sitting by a stone table, having tea and chatting. The elderly man had his back to the gate, so she couldn’t see his face. However, Gong Hongru appeared lethargic, seemingly displeased by this visitor, yet unable to act impolitely, reluctantly entertaining.

”Han Yan greets Master.” Han Yan paid her respects.

”No need for formalities, come meet Senior Feng.” Gong Hongru remarked.

While speaking, the guest turned his head.

”It’s you!” Han Yan and the man simultaneously exclaimed.

The fat man grinned sleazily; wasn’t this the rogue who touched girls’ bottoms at the workshop and then smoothly coaxed them while holding hands, the filthy old scoundrel?

”Hahaha, so you’re Old Man Gong’s disciple. Well, that’s great; I didn’t know how to begin, now it’ll save a lot of trouble.” The fat man laughed heartily, his eyes darting over Han Yan.

’Begin?’ Han Yan felt a chill run down her spine, looking warily at the lascivious fat man sizing her up.

”You know each other?” Gong Hongru asked, surprised.

”Master, how can you be friends with such a person? He was sneakily taking advantage of female disciples at the workshop earlier, a master by title yet scandalously lacking respect, utterly morally corrupt and unbecoming a teacher – a disgrace to our Long Yan Academy.” Since they’d clashed, Han Yan didn’t need to show him courtesy, and criticized him bluntly. After a few insults, she suddenly exclaimed, ”Eh, where’s your Holy Dragon Sword Robe?”

”Feng Qingyu, you stole my robe to flaunt and deceive again!” Before Feng Qingyu could answer, Gong Hongru roared angrily.

”Why yell? Forgot to bring spare clothes, borrowed your robe for a few days – what’s the big deal? Hundreds of years of friendship, surely not less than a shabby robe.” Feng Qingyu covered his ears, unconcerned.

Turns out the fat man’s name is Feng Qingyu. Looking at his bulk, it’s puzzling what his parents were thinking to name him so. It seriously doesn’t match!
