Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”Alright, the carriage is ready for you outside. Let’s set off now,” Mu Rui’an waved his hand as he spoke, not wanting to waste any more words.

He also noticed the dissatisfaction the Great Elder and his granddaughter held towards Han Yan and could guess the reasons why, but this was not something he needed to intervene in. He believed Han Yan could handle it herself.

He was becoming more and more confident in his precious daughter.

The group left the council hall and headed towards the gate. For such a significant event, the Family Head and several elders would traditionally see them off personally.

”Young Master.” As soon as they reached outside, Huayue and Zirong came to greet them.

”I can’t take you with me for this trial. Take some time to rest well,” Han Yan told them.

These two Gold Medal Thugs, who also served as her extremely obedient lackeys, had been following her through thick and thin recently, tirelessly at that. It was the perfect opportunity for them to take a break and spend more time with their families.

”That works out. Actually, I was just about to ask for leave to go home,” Huayue said with visible relief.

”What’s wrong? Is there trouble at home?” Han Yan only then noticed the worry and anxiety on Huayue’s face and asked with concern.

”Just now a neighbor came to bring news that my grandmother’s illness has worsened. Several doctors have seen her to no avail, I’m afraid of potential complications,” Huayue said worriedly.

”Then you should hurry back. Here, take these silver notes for any emergencies,” Han Yan, knowing that Huayue was an orphan raised by his grandmother and understanding his current emotions, took out several silver notes and pressed them into his hand.

”Thank you, Young Master.” Without hesitation, Huayue gratefully took the silver notes, glanced at Han Yan, and hurried out the door. He and his grandmother lived outside the city, not too far from Heishi City, so he did not want to delay even a moment.

”I’m going too, to see if I can be of any help,” Zirong said with a concerned face, quickly following after.

Though their personalities were distinctly different, their time together had bonded them like siblings. For this turn of events, Han Yan was quite satisfied.

”Wait for me, I’m coming too,” Jiang Yuzhe suddenly appeared out of nowhere, shouting loudly as he chased after them.

”Where are you going? Are you close with them? Have you forgotten that you are a follower, meant to stay by my side?” Han Yan grabbed his collar and asked.

She was growing more and more curious about this guy’s ability to appear and disappear unexpectedly, and sadly, due to the Heavenly Destiny Star Plate incident upon her return, she hadn’t had a chance to learn from him. Now that she finally saw him again, she didn’t want to miss the opportunity.

”Great Young Master, please let me have a break for a few days to heal my injuries first,” Jiang Yuzhe pleaded pitifully, while pointing to his face as he spoke.

His originally rather handsome face was crisscrossed with finger marks. Although the blood had faded considerably, it still looked ghastly.

”Who did this to you?” Han Yan asked in surprise.

”Besides your little tigress, who else would be so heavy-handed? I really don’t know what came over me to fancy her, alas, such hard luck,” Jiang Yuzhe spoke while choking back sobs.

”Yuying did this?” Han Yan asked in astonishment.

”Nonsense, who else if not her? I initially thought she was gentle, demure, considerate, and lovely, but it turns out she’s a complete violence freak,” Jiang Yuzhe lamented.

”But didn’t you say that hitting is affectionate and scolding is loving?” Han Yan couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth as she asked.

”I said that kind of hitting is playful, not the kind that beats the crap out of you!” Jiang Yuzhe said bitterly.

At this point, Jiang Yuzhe looked back and suddenly his face changed color.
