Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”Hmm, alright, please wait a moment,” said Qu Shanling.

”Are we burning incense for prayers? This old man has prepared some fine sandalwood already,” said the Third Elder, volunteering the information.

”No, the incense has already been burned,” Qu Shanling replied as he pulled out a huge pig leg from his bosom and started gnawing on it rapidly.

The Third Elder was dumbstruck, only to see Master Qu shaking his head and chewing voraciously like a fierce wind sweeps through the fallen leaves, quickly finishing off the fat pig leg down to the bone.

”Is there more?” Master Qu licked the meatless pig leg and, with greasy hands, wiped them behind his back, then asked, still looking unsatisfied.

”There is, there is. We’ve already prepared it for the Master,” a young disciple hurriedly offered another roasted pig leg to Qu Shanling.

Master Qu took it and once again devoured it like a whirlwind.

The Third Elder was completely petrified. Was this really the unparalleled master who could divine the heavens and the earth, decide life and death, discern the true from the false and fathom the universe? He was simply an undiscriminating glutton.

”My apologies, this Star Divination Technique is quite energy-consuming, and I need to replenish constantly,” Qu Shanling explained, having devoured another pig leg and seeing the shocked and dazed expression on the Third Elder’s face.

”Oh, yes, replenishment is necessary, indeed,” the Third Elder nodded mechanically. His mind was full of criticism: This old glutton, just a moment ago you told me to mind my status, but look at yourself. Do you look like a Star Diversion Master at all? It’s fine to replenish, nothing wrong with that, but do you have to wipe your hands on your clothes? Don’t you feel that’s untidy, my god, and now using the collar of your robe to wipe your mouth...

The Third Elder suddenly began to doubt. Could this old glutton really tell anything accurately?

”Alright, let’s begin,” Qu Shanling, now quite satisfied after his meal, directly performed the Star Illusion Thousand Machine Technique.

Seeing the profound hand formation he made, the Third Elder cast aside his thoughts, looking on nervously and eagerly.

”Pfft!” Qu Shanling suddenly halted his hand gestures, and a mouthful of fresh blood spurted out.

”Master!” Housekeeper Sun and the others were startled, quickly stepping forward.

Mu Hanyan was also somewhat surprised. She had previously used the Heavenly Heart Technique to help Qu Shanling adjust his meridians and had taught him the revised Star Illusion Thousand Machine Technique. Ideally, the updated Star Illusion Thousand Machine Technique should only be beneficial to him without any adverse effects, so why would it make him spit blood again?

Taking advantage of the stewards’ confusion, Mu Hanyan also pretended to care, came up behind him to pat his back, and surreptitiously employed Concentrating Inner Vision. She saw that Qu Shanling’s meridians had no abnormalities, with a circulation of qi and blood even better than that of a normal swordsman. Looking at his complexion, it was as rosy as ever, with his wrinkles even appearing shallower than before.

Mu Hanyan couldn’t help but be puzzled. His physical condition was exceptionally good, so why would he spit blood again?

”It’s nothing, nothing,” Qu Shanling waved his hand to dismiss his disciples, then said to the Third Elder, ”Third Elder, you see now, don’t you? My Star Divination Technique is exceedingly against nature and greatly damaging to the body, hence the constant need for nourishment.”

”I see, I understand,” the Third Elder said, his beard trembling with emotion. He had indeed misunderstood Master Qu before. He wasn’t just any glutton; the Star Divination Technique was so taxing and harmful to the body that he simply had no choice but to eat more to recover. And those few pig legs probably weren’t even enough to make up for it.

Realizing this, the Third Elder finally understood the great sacrifice Master Qu had made in divining the fortunes of Mu Ziqing, and naturally, he was very moved and filled with guilt.

”I tricked him; I’m actually just used to spitting up blood, it’s nothing,” Qu Shanling said to Mu Hanyan through a secret Gathering Qi Transmission amidst the Third Elder’s tearful emotion.

This God-man! Mu Hanyan couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and frustration, retracting her hand.
