Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 599: Chapter 599: Counterattack of the Original Female Lead 34

Second Brother Qiao said to the officer, ”Comrade police, my sister is a bit slow; she didn’t intentionally hurt anyone. He didn’t let my sister eat enough, and she got angry and then fought back. If you want to arrest someone, you might as well arrest Fan Cheng too.”

The officer furrowed his brows and said, ”If it’s a fight between husband and wife, then it’s a family dispute, not a crime; it would be classified as domestic violence. But your sister also injured another female youth, which constitutes intentional injury.”

”Comrade police, my sister is a fool. Can’t you spare her?”

”Even fools committing assault is a crime,” the officer said sternly.

In this little world, there’s no rule that a fool can kill without being judged; fools and normal people face the same legal responsibilities. Thus, shortly after, the police went to Fengshui Village and took Silly Girl away.

Three days later, when Wang Qianqian woke up, Silly Girl had already been sent to a labor camp.

On the day Silly Girl was sentenced, Fan Cheng divorced her. After returning to the village, Fan Cheng moved back to the Knowledge Youth Courtyard.

Wang Qianqian’s hospital stay cost over sixty yuan.

After leaving the hospital, Wang Qianqian asked Fan Cheng for the money. Fan Cheng said, ”I’ve divorced Silly Girl. If you want money, go ask her for it; don’t come to me.”

Wang Qianqian angrily said, ”When I was injured, Silly Girl was still your wife, so you have to take responsibility. If you hadn’t brought her into the Knowledge Youth Courtyard, would I have been hurt?”

”Fan Cheng, you ought to pay this money. At that time, you and Silly Girl were still married; Silly Girl doesn’t have the money, so as her husband, you should take responsibility.”

”Exactly, you insisted on bringing Silly Girl into the Knowledge Youth Courtyard, and now that something has happened, who else should be responsible but you.”

Because of Silly Girl’s incident, Fan Cheng was ostracized by all the youths; now, they don’t even prepare meals with him. If it weren’t for his divorce from Silly Girl, becoming single, they wouldn’t even want him in the Knowledge Youth Courtyard.

”I have no money,” Fan Cheng said, showing a deadpan indifference. ”I still owe the Brigade’s office for my hospital bills. If you want money, go ask the Qiao Family; Silly Girl is their daughter, and they should be responsible.”

Wang Qianqian wasn’t foolish; with Fan Cheng there, she wouldn’t go asking Old Qiao’s family for money. It was obvious they would refuse.

The Qiao Family was notoriously tough in the village, especially Mrs. Qiao, who was even tougher than the village head’s wife. Wang Qianqian wouldn’t dare to provoke them.

Wang Qianqian cried and went to the brigade leader to seek justice.

Before long, the brigade leader’s second son came to the Knowledge Youth Courtyard and called Fan Cheng over.

In the end, the responsibility for the money fell on Fan Cheng.

The brigade leader deducted directly from his work points and gave it to Wang Qianqian; Fan Cheng had no choice but to comply.

Yuan Chun opened the system’s live video feed, saw this drama play out, and happily made a spinach scrambled egg and a stir-fried bean sprout with bacon.

Yan Hui was chopping wood at the door, smelled the aroma of meat, smiled, and went to wash his hands.

”Wife, you’re making meat today, is it a special occasion?” Yan Hui asked, smiling, as he took the sweet potato rice his wife handed over.

Yuan Chun sat down across from him, picked up her chopsticks, and gave him a piece of bacon. ”I’m in a good mood and feel like eating meat.”

Yan Hui grinned widely, ”These days, the reply from home should’ve arrived. Let’s take a day off tomorrow and go to the post office; my mother must have sent us meat coupons. Then, we’ll go to the State-owned Restaurant for braised pork.”
