Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 271: Chapter 182: Crushing Yu Ren, Assigning Tasks

”Coming!” Yu Ren called out, grabbing his tray and heading out.

When Tu Chong and the others heard it was time to eat, they moved with surprising speed—even faster than Yu Ren!

”Let’s go,” Lin Mu explained. ”We get all our meals on the yacht. You can eat there or bring your food back here. But I’d suggest eating a little less for lunch today!”

”Huh?” Tu Chong paused. ”Why? Are the portions smaller for lunch or something?”

”Peach Blossom Base never skimps on portions,” Lin Mu replied with a smile. ”Right now, only certain meats are rationed. Fish and vegetables are completely unlimited—you can eat as much as you want!”

”If it’s unlimited, then we should definitely eat our fill! How else are we supposed to work this afternoon?” Tu Chong looked completely baffled.

”We’re not short on food here at Peach Blossom Base, so no one’s going to go hungry. Besides, the work is pretty easy,” Lin Mu continued. ”The only reason I’m telling you to eat less is so you can save room for the big feast tonight!”

”The leader said he’s throwing a celebration for you guys tonight, so there’ll be a lot of good stuff?” Yu Ren asked.

Lin Mu nodded. ”It’s also to welcome you to the base. When Jianghu and I joined, they threw a feast just like this for us!”

”What kind of good stuff will there be?” Tu Chong asked curiously.

”Chicken!” Lin Mu said, smacking his lips as if he could still taste the last time he’d eaten it.

”Holy shit, the base is going to kill a chicken for us?” Tu Chong blurted out.

”Last time, there were only two of us, and they still brought out chicken to welcome us. This time, there are nine of you, and it’s a victory celebration on top of that. I’m positive there will be chicken!” Lin Mu said with utter conviction.

”Well, if you put it that way, we definitely need to eat a little less!” Tu Chong nodded.

As they spoke, they arrived at the yacht. The moment they stepped into the main cabin hall, the aroma of food filled the air.

As more people arrived, Si Youqin brought out the prepared food on large serving trays. It was set up buffet-style, so everyone could help themselves.

The moment Yu Ren and his group saw the lavish spread of six dishes and a soup, any thought of ”eating a little less” was thrown to the wind.

Every single one of them piled their plates high, as if building a small mountain of food!

Seeing this, Si Youqin and her group covered their mouths to stifle their giggles before getting up and leaving the dining area.

”You all should just eat here. It’s a hassle to carry it all back,” Si Youqin suggested. ”We’ve already eaten!”

”Alright, thanks!” Lin Mu nodded. He looked at the mountains of food on the plates of Yu Ren’s group and sighed. ”Are you guys sure you want to eat that much? You’re not worried you’ll regret it tonight?”

”Let’s just get full first and worry about it later!” Tu Chong could no longer be bothered with the consequences and began to wolf down his food.

Lin Mu and his two companions shook their heads and left them to it.

Meanwhile, Ren Yuanyang and his group were also having a meal.

”Leader, shouldn’t we start producing our own cloth at the base? The bolts we salvaged from the water before aren’t in great shape anymore,” Xin Wan asked.

After being submerged for so long, the material certainly wasn’t very durable.

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”In that case, why don’t you organize a few people to start by studying ancient weaving techniques.”

Although no one knew how to spin yarn or weave cloth, the information was included in the data from the Aircraft Carrier Base. All they had to do was study it.

Raw materials could be cultivated, and Evolvers could manufacture the necessary machinery from blueprints. None of these were difficult tasks for them.

As for whether they could learn?

That wasn’t a concern at all. After becoming Evolvers, their intelligence far surpassed that of ordinary people. Learning something like this would be almost trivially easy.

”Alright,” Xin Wan agreed with a nod.

”Leader, during the meeting just now, you mentioned expanding the Banyan Forest. The waves are very rough outside right now, so how should we go about it?” Lu Jiamei voiced her question.
