Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 1139: Chapter 1173: Global Chinese Petroleum Tycoon

”Excuse me, are you Ms. Liu Ruyan?”

Liu Ruyan had just stepped out of the elevator when a smiling staff member approached her.

”Yes.” Liu Ruyan nodded, her cunning gaze briefly scanning the area, relieved she wasn’t disappointed.

”Please follow me this way.”

The beautiful woman courteously led Liu Ruyan to an office with a strong modern ambiance.

”Knock, knock—”

The beautiful woman lightly knocked on the office door.

”Come in.”

”Ms. Liu Ruyan, you can go in for your interview now.”

After saying this, the woman who welcomed her quickly stepped aside.

Left alone, Liu Ruyan suddenly felt a sense of bewilderment. Everything had happened so suddenly, and she wasn’t prepared.

”You must be Ms. Liu Ruyan.”

When she pushed the door open, a very quiet office came into view.

With the exception of a meticulously dressed woman, there was no one else in the office.

The room’s decor was very refreshing, making it look quite comfortable—neither classical nor modern.

Particularly, a wine cabinet drew a bit of Liu Ruyan’s attention since her good friend Nangong Bing also had such a cabinet in her office, allowing her to enjoy some wine when she had free time.

”Please have a seat.”

Zhang Yuxuan smiled and said.

Liu Ruyan nodded. As she pushed the office door open, she was somewhat astonished, thinking she had entered the wrong room. Because the person interviewing her was surprisingly a not very old girl, who looked very pretty; her business attire wrapped around her spiritual form irresistibly.

But there’s her age, which made Liu Ruyan somewhat uncertain.

This is ludicrous—such a large company actually letting such a young girl, who might not even be an adult, be an interviewer. Truly unusual!

But what she didn’t know was that this time, Zhang Yuxuan was interviewing her, already having taken an interest in her. As long as she agreed later, Huayu Group would immediately employ her.

”Thank you.” Liu Ruyan’s face turned pale. Just as she was about to unleash her queenly demeanor, she remembered Lin Zifeng’s words from that day, so she forcibly held back from erupting.

She thought this group was mocking her, like barely inviting an older interviewer, which would at least feel comforting...

”Ms. Liu, our board members have already reviewed your resume. We’re just curious why you chose the CEO position, particularly since Ms. Liu seems to have just returned from overseas and your resume is almost blank—meaning you have no understanding of the CEO role.”

Zhang Yuxuan recited everything her sister told her to say.

Actually, she was quite happy sitting here for the first time as an interviewer. It’s exciting to imagine how fun it could be.

”That’s right, my resume is indeed blank, but I’m confused as to why your company invited me for an interview alone. If you have extra time, you might as well explain. Of course, whether I’m hired is another matter entirely.”

Liu Ruyan’s words were sharp, leaving Zhang Yuxuan, the job market rookie, momentarily speechless.

Not knowing how to answer her question.

”Also, I, Liu Ruyan, have never been involved in business. I’m quite clueless about the business aspect, and from now on, it seems your company is quite attentive to me. So, I can’t guarantee I can fulfill the CEO role in your company, but I, Liu Ruyan, will dedicate myself sincerely to serve you. This is the truth, whether your company is willing to listen or not; I have to say this today.”

”But do you realize that by saying this, you’re risking not being hired at any moment? Are you prepared for this?”

Zhang Yuxuan asked.

She was a smart girl too and understood the meaning behind Liu Ruyan’s words.

”I know.” Liu Ruyan nodded.

”Since you’re aware of this result, why did you say that?” Zhang Yuxuan found this woman interesting, much smarter than her sister said, at least she’s very honest.

”Because I really need this job, and I value this job a lot. So I have to bring out my sincerity and attitude to seriously treat this job. I don’t want to be like others—not liking something but pretending to like it, not able to fulfill the role but claiming they can. This won’t be beneficial for your Huayu Group, nor would it be good for me. Plus, my father is a global Chinese oil tycoon. If I don’t treat every matter with an honest attitude, then I would be tarnishing my family’s reputation.”

Liu Ruyan adheres to her principles in life and work.

Even though she is proud, even extravagant, she still has her principles.

She is very thorough in her considerations before doing anything.

”So your father is a global Chinese oil tycoon?”

Zhang Yuxuan was slightly surprised, her face turning pale. She didn’t doubt Liu Ruyan’s words because this woman was honest, and her name often appeared in many magazines.

”Yes.” Liu Ruyan nodded, knowing she had blown her chance this time. Bringing her family into this, they surely won’t hire her. Plus, she was too honest today and said things she shouldn’t have said.

Oh, I, Liu Ruyan, really seem to have no fate to become a CEO. God, can you stop joking with me? At least I’ve put my heart into it, old man. Whether you’re moved or not, just take a moment, one eye open, one eye shut, okay?

”Alright! Just because you’re from an oil tycoon family, the group will hire you.”

”Ah!!! Hired just like that?”

Liu Ruyan fainted momentarily, almost startled by Zhang Yuxuan’s action.

Meanwhile, in another room, Zhang Mengjie watched the video intently for a long time, having to sigh and shake her head.

Her younger sister is really just too young. The person only said a few words, and without any consideration, she hired them right away.

Though hiring Liu Ruyan was already decided, there was no need to be so straightforward.

It makes us seem like we’re short on people.

”Hey, little sis, can I ask you a question?” Liu Ruyan slapped her wise forehead, thinking she was dreaming, hoping this dream wouldn’t end.

”What question?”

”Is your group’s hiring process always this straightforward?”

”No, our group’s hiring is always very rigorous,” Zhang Yuxuan replied blankly.

Liu Ruyan felt dizzy again.

”Alright, I’ll admit the capability of your group. Thank you for the interview today, I’m very grateful.” There’s nothing left to chat about now. Liu Ruyan bid farewell.

”Oh, by the way, President Liu. You can start work tomorrow.”

President... This is too straightforward. Originally, I was prepared to apply for the CEO role, though it’s close to the President’s position, but still...
