Chapter 1118: Chapter 1152: Seizing the Cornea (Monthly Ticket)

”It’s okay, I have plenty of time, I can accompany you.” Lin Zifeng smiled, but that evil smile made Chief Zhang’s legs tremble with fear.

Life itself is never short of melodrama.

And at this moment, Lin Zifeng was the greatest melodrama, sitting in a leather chair, slowly savoring tea, seriously reading the newspaper, as if he were the chief of this office.

”Sir, I really don’t know where that girl’s cornea went.”

Chief Zhang cried out in a sobbing voice.

”It’s okay, you can remain silent, soon you will want to speak.” Lin Zifeng seemed very patient.

Chief Zhang’s hands were restrained,

His shoes were also completely removed from his feet.

Also, there were four cigarettes held between his toes; if they weren’t removed soon, those cigarettes would certainly burn his toes.

By then, it would be a tearless cry.

Seeing the four cigarettes almost burning out, Zhang Pig Head struggled and screamed.

He could clearly feel his toes getting intensely hot, and if this continued, it would make him scream in agony.

”Last chance, you know.” Lin Zifeng was full of patience.

”Sir, I really don’t know where her cornea went, even if you chop off my feet, I still wouldn’t know.”

Chief Zhang cried and shouted, most painfully wondering why no one outside could hear his loud screams?

At least someone should come in to see what’s happening, right?

But he forgot, last time a young nurse barged in recklessly, only to be scolded harshly by him and then fired.

Since then, no one dared to intrude into his office again.

”Alright, you can slowly enjoy this taste, while I go search myself.” Lin Zifeng stood up, ignoring him, letting him speak or not.

”Ah!!! Ah!!!”

Finally, those four cigarettes burned out one after another, scorching the soles of his feet until he screamed in pain.

”Sir, I’ll talk, can’t I just talk now?”

Zhang Pig Head was almost in tears.

”Hehe, very good.” Lin Zifeng paused, squatted down, and personally removed the four cigarette butts.

”That girl’s cornea was taken by our hospital director. I heard it was for some rich person who needed a cornea transplant. They couldn’t find a suitable match, so they took that girl’s cornea.”

Chief Zhang confessed everything about Chuqing’s cornea being taken.

”Is her cornea still in the hospital?” Lin Zifeng was very concerned about this; if Qingqing’s cornea was really transplanted into someone else’s eyes, he would dig out their eyes if he had to.

”No, no. It was already sent to the City Hospital by the director, delivered there this morning. If you rush now, you might catch up, but it could be too late.”

Chief Zhang’s face was beaten up like a pig’s head, and his voice was also weak and feeble.

Sometimes, people are cheap, if only he had spoken earlier, he could have avoided a beating.

”Damn it! You dragged this on for so long, do you know how much damage such a delay can cause to a young girl’s life?”

Lin Zifeng’s eyes turned red, his gaze fierce as lightning, raising his hand with surging power intending to kill the guy, but was stopped by Chuqing behind him.

”Brother! Don’t kill him!”

Chuqing had been quietly listening by Chief Zhang’s office, guessing what Lin Zifeng would do from the screams inside.

”Hmm?! Chuqing!”

Lin Zifeng looked back at her: ”Why did you follow me? Didn’t I tell you to sit there and wait for me?”

Chuqing’s fair and delicate face was smiling, her voice soft and charming, ”Brother, my eyes will be fine. Whether with or without a cornea is the same, besides. It’s been years, I’m already used to this kind of life. If my eyes really get better, maybe it wouldn’t be the life I want. Just like this, peacefully, is good.”

”...”

Lin Zifeng fell silent.

Lying on the floor, Chief Zhang recognized the blind girl immediately. The day the director anaesthetized her, Chief Zhang tried to stop it too, but how could he stop what the director wanted to do...

In the end, after the cornea was transplanted, the director gave him a large sum of money, and the matter was hastily concluded as if nothing ever happened. Who would have guessed a demon would show up at the hospital today?

”Brother, really, I would rather live this current life, not wishing for future troubles that sight might bring. Everyone has their own way of living, and being content with the present is actually good. If one day I regain my sight, it could change my life, and if so, I’d rather keep living this simple and beautiful life.”

To avoid troubling Lin Zifeng, Chuqing would rather be a happy blind person than a troubled sighted one.

”Silly girl, how could Brother bear to let your eyes remain this way forever, I promised you I would take you to see the most beautiful sunlight and the most beautiful sunset.”

Lin Zifeng lovingly held her in his arms. The cornea had already been sent to the City Hospital, now the director needed to be found to make him take Lin Zifeng to retrieve it.

”Qingqing, now go home, have a good sleep, tomorrow your cornea will be okay.” Lin Zifeng stroked her face, escorting her far from Huayang Hospital, then slipping into the crowd himself...

Five minutes later...

Under the force of violence, the director of Huayang Hospital had already made several calls to the City Hospital, only to hear the response that the rich man was about to undergo cornea surgery.

The surgery would start in an hour, already too late.

Lin Zifeng immediately called Zhang Mengjie and others, ordering them to reach the City Hospital within half an hour. If the cornea was actually transplanted, even at the cost of poking out that person’s eyes, bring the cornea back!

Upon receiving Lin Zifeng’s urgent command, Zhang Mengjie was as anxious as ants on a hot pan, mobilizing all the beauties of the East District Butterfly Gang.

The beauties of the Butterfly Gang from all directions rushed to the hospital without stop, hoping to intercept the cornea transplant surgery in the shortest time possible.

”B-Big brother, I don’t know how I offended you? Why hit me?”

The director of Huayang Hospital cried out with a sobbing voice. Just now, Lin Zifeng stormed in without saying a word, slapped him directly, and demanded the cornea. What was going on? Even when people fight, they at least argue first, but he just went straight to beating.
