Chapter 1002: Chapter 1031: Uncle, I Like You

“Hey, uncle… don’t be like that. He’s my idol, you know.”

Tangtang pouted and playfully clawed at Lin Zifeng.

“Uncle, tell me, should I pursue a career as a star? Why do I feel like the entertainment industry is so dark… so many rules to learn. Am I too naive? I really don’t like this atmosphere.” Tangtang pouted. She’s now disgusted by those so-called directors, producers, scriptwriters, and screenwriters.

She feels like the entertainment industry isn’t as good as she imagined. It’s left quite a bad impression on her.

“Tangtang, this is the path you chose for yourself, so no matter how difficult it is, you have to see it through, even on your knees. But as long as uncle is by your side, you’ll be fine. And your path will be smoother without so many complications.” Lin Zifeng lovingly reached out to pat her little head. If Tangtang really disliked this lifestyle, he wouldn’t force her. But Lin Zifeng understood their dreams.

They are still young. Young people should have their own dreams. Without dreams, how is one any different from a salted fish?

“Sigh, I never thought it would be so messy. I thought it would be so simple at first, but it seems I’m too naive.” Just thinking about that disgusting fat guy made her want to vomit. Luckily, this time it was her alone who suffered, and uncle rescued her at a critical moment. But how many times have those girls, who weren’t rescued, been taken advantage of before they became famous?

“Haha, you’re still young. Having dreams is good at your age; without them, how are you any different from a salted fish? Don’t think too much now. Just be yourself. If anything happens in the future, tell uncle first thing. As long as uncle is around, I promise I’ll protect you.”

“Really?”

“Of course. Do you think I’m joking with you?” Lin Zifeng said, a bit exasperated. When he spoke to these two girls, he had never gone back on his word.

Except for things he deemed unimportant, he had accomplished everything else.

“Oh, right, Tangtang, take this. If the damn assistant director dares to threaten you again when you go to the set tomorrow, use this recording to scare him. I guarantee he won’t dare do anything to you.” Lin Zifeng handed her the phone with the recording from earlier.

“Will this really work?”

“Of course it will. If he wants to keep working in this industry, he’d better back down. But next time, if anyone dares to threaten you, make sure to tell your uncle immediately; otherwise, you’ll be the one who suffers.” Lin Zifeng lovingly patted her head.

“Bad uncle, don’t pat my head; I won’t grow tall.” Tangtang continued to pout.

“Haha…”

“Uncle, you were really cool today, you know. I love you, uncle.”

Saying that, the little girl stood on tiptoe and gently kissed his cheek with her soft, moist lips.

Then she twisted her little bum and giggled as she ran off…

This left Lin Zifeng stunned.

Touching the cheek that had just been kissed, Lin Zifeng grumbled, “It’s not like I wouldn’t let you kiss me. Did you have to run off so fast?”

…

After accompanying Tangtang home, she was extremely grateful to Lin Zifeng. Without him, she might have really suffered at that fat guy’s hands.

Once home, Tangtang was very excited. One of her friends immediately called her, asking her to go to a KTV for a little gathering and singing session.

Lin Zifeng had just helped her out of trouble. And now there was more trouble. As her knight, Lin Zifeng could only continue to accompany her to the KTV to sing.

His butt hadn’t even warmed the seat before he joined her for karaoke. Enough is enough!

“Uncle, I know you sing well; last time you sang, I was totally mesmerized. This time you’ll definitely outshine everyone!”

As soon as they got in the car, Tangtang started showering him with praise in various ways.

“Give it a rest. Spare me the flattery. Who are these friends you’re meeting? I can’t recall you having many friends. Where did these friends pop up from, and do you trust them? Going out to sing in the middle of the night, having such a blast?”

Lin Zifeng was quite unhappy. Truth be told, he didn’t trust Tangtang’s so-called fair-weather friends. After all, she seemed to have met a few new artists recently, and he didn’t know their backgrounds.

The world’s so chaotic nowadays, especially for a girl. Things could go wrong at any turn, so Lin Zifeng was worried about her.

Who knows what kind of friends she’s latched onto; they might not be good people at all.

“Hehe, these are friends I met recently. We got acquainted through a group chat.” Tangtang giggled.

“Really! You met them in a group chat, and you’re daring enough to go out and sing with them, going out to have fun in the middle of the night? You’ve really got guts, girl!”

Lin Zifeng fumed and gave her a light tap on the back of the head.

This tap almost brought Tangtang to tears, just short of bursting into sobs in front of Lin Zifeng.

“Uncle, you actually hit me.”

“That was nothing. Not making your butt swell is already kind enough.” Lin Zifeng scowled, not bothering to pay her any mind.

Since he had already agreed to go to the KTV, he didn’t refuse. After all, he had to see what kind of people these friends of hers were.

After meeting them, these so-called friends might be cut off from Tangtang’s young mind altogether, who knows?

“Bad uncle, bad uncle, you’re just bullying Tangtang. Tangtang just chatted well with them, nothing bad.” Tangtang pouted, puzzled at why Lin Zifeng treated her this way.

Lin Zifeng chuckled, ignoring her discontent.

When they reached the specified location, the KTV, it was evident that her friends were quite wealthy. At least, the KTV was quite extravagant.

Ordinary people wouldn’t choose such a place to have fun.

“This KTV you mentioned, is it this one?”

Lin Zifeng looked up at the place, which was under the management of Zhang Mengjie, meaning this Imperial City KTV was her territory.

“Yes, it’s this one.” Tangtang nodded. This area was an entertainment hub, with every possible KTV, bar, club, you name it.

“Damn, they really know how to enjoy themselves, coming to a place like this to play.”

Lin Zifeng was envious. He’d never been to such a place for fun.

Kids these days really know how to play.

“Let’s go meet your so-called friends then.” Lin Zifeng spread his arms, very casual.

He took out a cigarette and lit it.
