After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1847: Chapter 1851: Where Is Mom?

After all, having grown up in the United States, Luo Jun’s spoken Chinese was okay, but his writing wasn’t great. Though a bit crooked, every stroke was solid, and this small child already displayed a very domineering and stubborn demeanor.

Looking at the words he had written, he thought for a moment, then added his name and the date. He carefully tore the IOU from the notebook and handed it to Xinger, ”Take this. In the future, I’ll pay you back.”

Xinger hesitated and refused to take it.

In her mind, she had already considered Luo Jun a friend. How could she charge a friend for food?

The old man smiled and urged, ”Xinger, just take it.”

”Alright then.” Xinger raised both her small hands and took the IOU that Luo Jun handed over.

”That’s it then. You rest well, we’ll leave now.” The old man took Xinger’s small hand, waved to them, and turned to walk out of the ward.

Before going out the door, Xinger didn’t forget to wave to Luo Jun, ”Mo Mo, we’ll see you again tomorrow.”

”I’ll see you out.” Xu Xia hurriedly chased after them to see them off.

”Miss Xu, please stay.” The old man stopped outside the door, ”Mo Mo still needs your care.”

”If convenient, could you leave me a phone number?” Xu Xia asked sincerely.

The other party could be said to be Luo Jun’s lifesaver. If they hadn’t found Luo Jun in time, who knows what the consequences might have been. Xu Xia was filled with gratitude and naturally didn’t want to just let the two of them leave.

”I’m sorry.” The old man smiled, ”I don’t have a cellphone.”

”You must have a landline, right?” Xu Xia pressed on.

”We’re probably moving in a few days.” Although the old man’s tone was polite, there was a hint of distance in his words.

Seeing that the other party didn’t want to share his contact information, Xu Xia hurried to explain, ”I really don’t mean anything else; I just hope that when this child’s parents return, I can give them an explanation. You saved Wanwan, and we’re all very grateful...”

”Miss Xu, such a small matter, you don’t need to keep it in mind.” The old man smiled at her, turned around, and walked away with Xinger.

Xinger, being young, didn’t understand, but he knew that Xu Xia and the others weren’t ordinary people. Their accents were clearly Beijing dialect, and this child had a missing person notice broadcast on TV. The old man didn’t want to get involved with them.

Watching the two walk away, Xu Xia could only sigh helplessly and return to the ward.

In the ward, Luo Jun clutched the Thousand Paper Cranes in his hand, a solemn expression on his small face.

”Mo Mo.” Xu Xia walked over and took out the porridge brought by the old man, ”Would you like some porridge?”

”I’m not hungry.” Luo Jun gently shook his head and then looked up at Xu Xia, ”Godmother, where’s Mom?”

”Your mom, she...” Xu Xia raised her hand to gently stroke his soft hair, ”She has some things to take care of and can’t come to see you right now. When she’s done, she’ll come.”

At this time, Luo Xiaoqian’s life was uncertain, and Xu Xia feared that Luo Jun wouldn’t be able to handle the truth, so she didn’t dare to tell him the reality.

Xu Xia meant well, but when Luo Jun heard these words, they automatically transformed in his mind to ”Mom’s really not coming to see me, she doesn’t want me,” which only made his mood even more downcast.

Outside the door, hurried footsteps approached, and Huangfu Ao entered swiftly with Ah Jiu and others.

Seeing Luo Jun, Ah Jiu immediately rushed over, took his small hand, and inspected him worriedly, ”Young master, are you hurt?”
