Chapter 97: Chapter 97 The Terrifying Serial Killer

”But that person, he seems to be not an ordinary human, capable of drawing blood, I fear that we...” the policeman said, his pupils filled with some dread, and the expressions of the other officers were extremely grave.

The case they were dealing with was the very same one Xiao Ruolin and Xiao Yifeng had encountered before, where corpses had been found drained of blood. In recent days, more such incidents had occurred, with victims’ bodies completely exsanguinated.

The officers handling the case felt that the killer was no ordinary person, finding the whole affair horrifying and bizarre. Having finally tracked down clues to the perpetrator’s hideout, Xiao Ruolin led over twenty officers to the scene.

”Yes, Captain, that killer is extremely eerie; we might not be able to capture him,” another officer chimed in.

”Enough talk, are you still the police who serve the people or what? Have you forgotten the oath from the police academy? How can you be so scared of death at a time like this? Listen to my command: break into teams of three and spread out inside the building, keep in contact at all times, and send out a message immediately if anything happens.”

Xiao Ruolin spoke with an icy tone, the first to rush into the building. Hearing her words, the rest of the officers gathered their courage and infiltrated the building.

On a certain floor of this building, a figure shrouded in a black robe let out a blood-curdling chuckle, a mummified corpse lying on the ground before them.

Since the building was large, Xiao Ruolin’s group of over twenty was split into teams of three to search for the target.

Xiao Ruolin led two officers in a triangular formation, allowing visibility in all directions to prevent any surprises.

They soon reached the third floor, but no sign of any person was found; everything was deadly still.

Ah! Ah!

Just then, several screams came through Xiao Ruolin’s walkie-talkie, causing Xiao Ruolin and her team to look alarmed.

Xiao Ruolin grabbed the walkie-talkie and said urgently, ”Hello, hello, what’s the situation? Report immediately!”

”Jie...jie...”

A series of sinister, strange laughs emerged from the walkie-talkie, causing the two officers beside Xiao Ruolin to turn pale, their bodies trembling slightly.

”Captain, could this be a ghost?”

”Ghost your head, it’s broad daylight; where would a ghost come from?” Xiao Ruolin snorted irritably and then instructed:

”Alright, don’t get into a panic. Now that we’re here, we must capture this killer no matter what, otherwise, we’re unworthy of being police officers.”

”Pass my order, all members maintain high vigilance,” Xiao Ruolin said to the other teams through the walkie-talkie.

At this point, every officer in the building, having just encountered a scare, was hyper-vigilant, their foreheads breaking out in cold sweat.

In a stairwell, three officers walked shoulder to shoulder, their guns aimed around them.

Whoosh!

A rush of wind suddenly howled, alarming the three of them.

”Who’s there?”

The next second, a mass of black shadow burst forth in their eyes, and then they knew nothing more.

”The game has begun; let’s see how long you can last.”

Another chilling and weird voice came from the walkie-talkie, and Xiao Ruolin’s face darkened as she fiercely spoke into the device, ”All units, sound off.”

”Captain, nine people have already lost contact; what should we do now?”

The two officers standing beside Xiao Ruolin looked terribly unsettled, their faces taut, their hands gripping their guns and sweating.

Xiao Ruolin’s eyes flickered as she commanded, ”Inform the others, everyone pull out, wait for the chief to arrive.”

”Captain, aren’t you leaving?”

”I must capture this bastard,” Xiao Ruolin snorted coldly.

”But Captain, this is too dangerous, better you leave with us.”

”Enough, don’t say anymore, you all listen to my order and retreat,” Xiao Ruolin commanded sternly.

Following her command, the other police officers withdrew from the building. However, where there were initially about twenty, now only about ten remained; the rest were unaccounted for.

”I will find you.”

Xiao Ruolin said with resolute eyes, continuing her search in the building.

”Interesting.”

A sudden voice rang in Xiao Ruolin’s ears. Her expression tensed, and she rolled on the ground, firing her gun repeatedly at a certain spot.

Several bullets shot out but struck the wall; she hadn’t caught sight of any figure.

”You bastard, come out!” Xiao Ruolin shouted coldly, her eyes vigilantly scanning the surroundings.

But there was no response for a long time. Xiao Ruolin continued her search until she reached the tenth floor, where she found four or five bodies lying on the ground, turned into mummies.

This made Xiao Ruolin’s expression darken, anger flashing in her eyes. These were not in police uniforms, suggesting they were not the missing officers but other victims instead.

”Bastard!” Xiao Ruolin cursed coldly.

”Beautiful, you are truly beautiful.”

A fleeting voice sounded in Xiao Ruolin’s ear; she tensed up, spun around, and saw a figure in a black robe standing there, head bowed, face obscured.

However, the entire figure emitted a sinister and terrifying aura, making Xiao Ruolin’s face extremely grave, with cold sweat beading on her forehead, and her hands gripped the gun tightly, aiming at the other party.

”You are the perverted serial killer! Finally, you dare to show yourself.”

”I’ve never disappeared,” the figure in the black robe sneered coldly, ”it’s just that you are too incompetent to notice my presence.”

”Damn killer, I will bring you to justice, make you face the law’s judgment,” Xiao Ruolin barked sternly, a cold light flickering in her eyes, her body tense.

”The law, what is that? You think you ordinary people can judge me? Ridiculous. However, you are such a beauty; I almost can’t bear to kill you. I want you to be my Female Servant, to serve by my side forever, and obediently follow my words.”

The voice of the figure in the black robe was sinister and eerie, sending shivers down one’s spine.

”Dream on!”

Xiao Ruolin shouted coldly, pulling the trigger directly. A bullet sped out, aiming at the opponent’s leg.

However, the figure merely swayed lightly and dodged Xiao Ruolin’s bullet, causing her to startle at his strength.

Bang Bang Bang!

This time Xiao Ruolin didn’t hesitate, pulling the trigger several times in rapid succession. Several bullets were all aimed at the figure in the black robe but were ultimately dodged by the agile opponent.

Bang!

Suddenly, the figure in the black robe appeared in front of Xiao Ruolin, giving her no chance to fight back. She was blasted away, landing heavily in a pile of sand and coughing up a mouthful of fresh blood.
