Chapter 83: Chapter 83 Relentless

Xiao Yifeng could only obediently take the clothes and head to the changing room where he changed out of his current outfit and put on the suit that Qiu Yuying had bought for him, which, to his surprise, fit quite well.

Just then, the door to the changing room opened and Hong Mei walked in, looking at Xiao Yifeng in astonishment, ”Why are you dressed so sharply today?”

”Wasn’t I handsome the other day?” Xiao Yifeng tossed his hair with a dashing flair.

Hong Mei couldn’t help but laugh, approaching Xiao Yifeng with a playful smile, ”Are you planning on going on a date or something?”

”You guessed it, I’ll give you a chance to go on a date with such a handsome guy like me, how about that?” Xiao Yifeng said, pressing his body close to Hong Mei.

”Forget it, I don’t want the boss firing me.” With a bewitching look in her eyes, Hong Mei gave Xiao Yifeng a white glance and walked straight out.

At Tianhai, within a luxurious restaurant, Xiao Yifeng followed Qiu Yuying as the two entered.

”Remember, don’t screw this up,” Qiu Yuying instructed Xiao Yifeng once again as she looked at him.

”Relax, with this handsome face of mine, I can make the other party so ashamed they won’t have anywhere to hide,” Xiao Yifeng quipped, provoking a scornful look from Qiu Yuying.

However, Xiao Yifeng suddenly wrapped his arm around Qiu Yuying’s slender waist, causing her complexion to change and her body to stiffen.

”What are you doing?” Qiu Yuying’s eyes flickered with a touch of anger as she stared at Xiao Yifeng.

”I’m just pretending to be your boyfriend; it should look a bit more convincing,” Xiao Yifeng said, feigning innocence.

”We don’t need that now,” Qiu Yuying said sternly.

”Just getting into the feel of it,” Xiao Yifeng said cheekily, his hand still holding onto Qiu Yuying without any sign of letting go; Qiu Yuying struggled but couldn’t break free and had to let Xiao Yifeng openly take advantage.

They reached the third floor of the restaurant, and under the guidance of a waiter, they entered a private room.

At that moment, sitting in the private room was a man about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, dressed in an Armani suit, his hair slicked back shiny, and wearing a Rolex on his wrist—exuding the aura of a business elite. Hearing the door open, he stood up and walked over.

”You...”

Upon seeing Qiu Yuying enter, the corners of the man’s mouth curled into a smile, but before he could finish his sentence, he froze, staring blankly at Xiao Yifeng who was holding onto Qiu Yuying’s waist.

”You must be Mr. Zheng Shaodong, hello, I am Qiu Yuying,” Qiu Yuying said to the man in front of her.

”Miss Qiu, hello,” Zheng Shaodong recovered, his eyes flickering darkly as he swept a glance over Xiao Yifeng and said, ”And this gentleman is?”

”Hello, I’m her boyfriend,” Xiao Yifeng said, smiling at Zheng Shaodong.

”What? Boyfriend? This?” Zheng Shaodong was completely taken aback.

”Miss Qiu, I believe I heard your parents say you don’t have a boyfriend, what’s the deal with that?” Zheng Shaodong’s eyes were fixed on Qiu Yuying.

”I’m sorry, Mr. Zheng, I had a boyfriend before, but never mentioned him to my parents, which is why they think I’m single and why we have this blind date today. I apologize for any trouble my situation may have caused you,” Qiu Yuying said indifferently.

With a glint in his eye, Zheng Shaodong continued to gaze at Qiu Yuying and said, ”Miss Qiu, although this is our first meeting, the moment I saw your photo, I was already smitten with you. Whether you have a boyfriend or not, I will pursue you, and I believe I am the most suitable match for you.”

”This...” Qiu Yuying’s expression froze; she had not expected Zheng Shaodong to react this way. She had thought that by introducing her own boyfriend, it would be the end of this matchmaking arrangement, but Zheng Shaodong’s intent to continue pursuing her, even knowing she had a boyfriend, caught her off guard.

”Hey, bro, are you talking like I don’t exist?” Xiao Yifeng interjected with a curl of his lips.

Zheng Shaodong’s eyes swept over Xiao Yifeng, replying indifferently, ”I’m curious about which university this gentleman graduated from, and what is your current occupation?”

”I never attended college, and I’m currently an employee at the sales department of Ye Corporation. Is there a problem?” Xiao Yifeng said calmly.

Laughing, Zheng Shaodong allowed a hint of arrogance to flicker across his eyes as he glanced at Xiao Yifeng and said, ”I recall Miss Qiu is the manager of the sales department at Ye Corporation, so it seems you are under her command.”

As he spoke, Zheng Shaodong’s gaze fell on Xiao Yifeng with a hint of scorn, and after adjusting his collar, he turned to Qiu Yuying, ”Miss Qiu, allow me to formally introduce myself.”

”My name is Zheng Shaodong, twenty-eight years old, Master of Financial Management from Stanford University in M Country, currently deputy general manager at the Tianhai Branch of Qian Corporation, I will be promoted to general manager in a year’s time.”

Speaking with palpable pride, Zheng Shaodong glanced over at Xiao Yifeng, ”I believe with my educational background, familial status, as well as my current job, I am a more suitable match for Miss Qiu. As for you, sir, you should just stick to your job. Trying to climb the social ladder by dating your boss is unrealistic,” he suggested.

Obviously, in Zheng Shaodong’s eyes, Xiao Yifeng had become someone looking to improve his status by relying on a woman.

Xiao Yifeng’s lips curled into an amused smile, while Qiu Yuying’s face turned slightly red as she spat out, ”Mr. Zheng, you’ve got it wrong, he’s my boyfriend. There is nothing complicated going on between us like you think. I don’t like you, and I am sure you will find a better girlfriend.”

”That’s right, Qiu Yuying is my woman, so stop worrying about her, or you will regret it,” Xiao Yifeng once again held Qiu Yuying tightly in his arms.

”Come on, wife, let’s give each other a kiss.”

As Xiao Yifeng spoke, he lowered his head and pressed a kiss onto the lips of Qiu Yuying, who was wearing lipstick, causing her expression to stiffen with surprise.

Zheng Shaodong’s face turned extremely unpleasant, but he quickly regained his composure, saying, ”Miss Qiu, no matter what you say, I’ll pursue you to the end. Whatever I, Zheng Shaodong, set my mind on, I make sure to accomplish, and you are the girlfriend I’ve set my mind on.”

Having said that, Zheng Shaodong turned and walked out.

”Wife, I want to punch him, damn it, he’s too arrogant, daring to talk like this in front of me,” Xiao Yifeng grumbled discontentedly.

”Kick your big-head ghost, get away from me,” Qiu Yuying snapped angrily, pushing Xiao Yifeng away.

Xiao Yifeng looked at Qiu Yuying with a wronged expression, ”Wife, how can you be so heartlessly humorous?”

”You jerk, what nonsense are you talking about?” Qiu Yuying’s face flushed, and she covered her lips, huffing, ”You bastard, who allowed you to kiss me?”

”I was just trying to make the act more convincing, to get that guy to give up hope, but I never expected him to be so stubborn,” Xiao Yifeng explained.
