I Am Your Natural Enemy

Old Meng, a crafty guy, was led by Wen Yan’s words and understood some things.

He didn’t argue, because he thought the same way.

He was willing to cooperate with Wen Yan and didn’t want to work with the people from Fateless Pawnshop, because he knew Wen Yan wouldn’t sell him out and then pretend to be a good guy.

But as for those deceitful merchants, Old Meng himself is one, doesn’t he understand?

The people from Fateless Pawnshop would certainly dare to do that.

After a little calculation, he indeed had nowhere else to go now.

Couldn’t go to Europa recently, same with America, whether to go to Kangaroo or Tropical Grassland, his face still stands out quite a bit.

Going back to Divine Land wasn’t ideal either; Scorching Sun Department keeps arguing with Europa. So far, Scorching Sun Department hasn’t officially issued a warrant for Old Meng yet, not even for show, and Old Meng knows in this situation, he definitely can’t slap Scorching Sun Department’s face.

The best place to go is actually only Nanyang.

Running off to Nanyang and doing something on the side, that’s justified.

With Wen Yan in the middle, Old Meng’s relationship with Scorching Sun Department is at its best. As a People of Divine Land, Old Meng certainly knows that when given face, accept it, so everyone saves face.

Having agreed to this, Old Meng didn’t rest, rode off quickly on that little tricycle.

Old Meng didn’t want others to know his fallback coordinates, didn’t want trouble, and didn’t want to upset Wen Yan, so he directly blocked the coordinates here.

Having twice relied on Wen Yan’s coordinates to save his life, Old Meng felt he should maintain the relationship here well.

As for how much intelligence he could gather, and what he could obtain, he needed to first investigate who exactly was behind betraying him this time.

If it indeed involved Fateless Pawnshop, then don’t blame him for taking a hard stance and siding with Scorching Sun Department.

Even deceitful merchants have their limits, business is business, but setting a trap to swallow someone whole, that’s definitely unacceptable.

Old Meng got the intelligence from Wen Yan, rode the tricycle, quickly shuttling, made several jumps, and then rode an electric tricycle that blended with the local scene, emerging from an alley.

Below his feet, lay a brindle little dog, snoring in sleep.

Old Meng’s clothes changed to match the local style, coupled with a beard and the ravines on his old face, he instantly looked like a middle-aged man, still coming out to carry goods and passengers.

When he rode past on the electric tricycle, no one cared when an extra person appeared here, and a local even waved to him.

Old Meng didn’t refuse, stopped to take the person and delivered them to their destination, earning some local money.

He rode the tricycle, leisurely came to a residential area, spent a while negotiating with the landlord with crumpled bills, rented a room, naturally, he had to pay for storing his broken tricycle too, or the landlord wouldn’t guarantee if two wheels might go missing the next day.

Carrying an old suitcase, he returned to the room, rummaged through it, pulled out a phone, and then a backup SIM card.

He took out a small notebook, flipped through the recorded contact methods, and dialed a number.

”Hello, it’s me, yes, almost died, I want to know why those dumb vampires would cooperate with the Church people.

The price is doubled the market rate, I need the results today.

Don’t blame me, such a big move this time, and I’m the last to know.

What does that signify, you should know better than me.

I’ve used up my life-saving cards, I have to be more cautious.”

Hanging up the phone, Old Meng casually disassembled it, and then rummaged out an inflatable dummy from the box, and after inflating it, the dummy increasingly resembled a real person, finally looking just like him.

He positioned the dummy by the table, turned on a dim lamp, as if studying something.

Meanwhile, Old Meng himself, pulled out something resembling a foil emergency blanket, wrapped himself up, and sat in a corner, gradually, he seemed to disappear completely.

Late at night, a bug resembling a centipede silently crept in through a crack under the door, crawled onto the back of the figure sitting at the table, and bit the back of the neck.

The figure sat up, reached back to the neck, as the centipede-like bug quickly slipped away through the cracks.

Seconds later, Old Meng’s dummy began to deflate, slowly collapsing into a pile of latex on the chair.

In the corner, Old Meng wrapped in his disguise, coldly watched the scene, sighed inwardly.

Though his first target was somewhat a test, he really intended to ask for intelligence, offering double the price to show his sincerity.

Unexpectedly, the first was already a lead.

Just one call, and they found him so quickly, even used a venomous bug for a hit.

To be able to mobilize such resources in Nanyang, there aren’t many possible suspects left.

And, I mentioned using my life-saving item, did you really think I used the Resurrection Cross?

Do you honestly think my life-saving item is only that single wondrous item?

Just arrived in Nanyang, and already have two leads, although losing one intelligence channel, Old Meng didn’t feel regret.
