I Am Your Natural Enemy

He remembered, when he was a child, being taken out of an underground grave by his masked grandfather, he seemed to have seen this type of Evil Ghost.

He doesn’t remember how he appeared in that huge tomb, nor does he know why he recognized the Evil Ghost.

But he remembers, after returning that day, his grandfather never woke up again.

At that time he didn’t know why, but now he knows.

Suddenly, he remembered, when he was two or three years old, his grandfather held him in his arms, told him stories, taught him rules, many things he couldn’t possibly remember back then.

One rule was that once you put on a mask, you cannot be called by your identity.

And back then, in the graveyard, he called out to his grandfather.

Because he had seen his grandfather wearing a mask more than once, he could recognize him at a glance.

He doesn’t remember what happened next, only that the next day, his grandfather never woke up again.

A few days ago, he still didn’t understand, but now he remembers many things, coupled with the sudden sight of those lantern ornaments in front of his door, he is more certain it is definitely not an illusion.

Except for the initial panic induced by seeing these hangings, he later found them more reassuring.

He instinctively felt at ease, as if these ornaments hung here were not at all frightening, instead providing the greatest sense of security.

These days, countless things have been surfacing in his mind, yesterday, he even dreamed of his grandfather, dreamed of his grandfather wearing a mask, dancing bizarre and ancient dances, bellowing desolate ballads.

He couldn’t wait any longer, couldn’t put it off, he had to figure out what really happened, he had to go back, go back to see.

Luckily, his wife was willing to support his ideas, believing they could manage to do whatever they planned with their own hands.

Early the next morning, just after arriving at the store, they saw Misha, dressed as a sophisticated urban white-collar beauty.

The shop owner, upon seeing Misha, was sure she wasn’t a normal person.

Now, he was a bit late to realize why that customer never came to the store to eat and always ordered takeout.

And the takeout address was in the community furthest inside where those lantern ornaments hung.

The shop owner didn’t think further, he felt it was quite good.

The conversation was smooth, Misha seemed very professional, having already drafted a contract that was fair and even offered a price slightly higher than their asking, including the equipment, furniture, and even the current decoration.

A separate contract was drawn up for the secret recipe.

The owner didn’t have any objections to the first contract but was surprised to see the secret recipe contract.

”Just forget it, I said I’d give it to him.”

”No, no, my boss said the secret recipe is the most valuable and must be clearly explained.

The ownership of the recipe remains with you, sir, we are merely using it commercially in this store.”

Misha spoke very earnestly, as Wen Yan had specifically instructed her.

It could make Sparrow Cat eat every day, and even allow Sparrow Cat to criticize that besides the fried chicken, the rest was pretty ordinary.

After teasing Sparrow Cat verbally, Wen Yan couldn’t resist trying it himself.

He didn’t think it was just something made by an ordinary person that simply suited Sparrow Cat’s taste in ordinary fried chicken.

He tasted just a bite, and noticed something was amiss.

In what seemed like normal fried chicken, there was a hint of a very special flavor.

Hard to describe, but the satisfaction from eating it was significantly higher than common food.

Thinking and pondering, the closest comparison Wen Yan could think of was that of someone from Divine Land staying at John Bull’s for three years, and upon returning, eating the first bowl of hometown rice at the airport.

Sparrow Cat used to not eat enough, having truly felt hunger, this kind of fried chicken was irresistible to Sparrow Cat.

Wen Yan checked and found the store owner had no apparent issues, he might have some special ability, as long as there wasn’t any malice, Wen Yan didn’t want to dig further, nor did he intend to take advantage of the situation without reason.

The most direct thought in taking over the shop was simply wanting Sparrow Cat to always have something it liked to eat.

The shopkeeper shared the same thought, allowing the most loyal customers to continue enjoying their meals.

It had to be clarified beforehand, we are just using it in this shop, the secret recipe ownership remains yours, we accept goodwill, maintaining that goodwill in its original form.

Wen Yan could already taste the difference in the fried chicken compared to before, therefore, the purported value of the secret recipe would only continue to grow.

It’s better to say it in advance, to prevent time from diluting it with too many interests, causing things to change.

As for taking over, it’s an opportunity for Bai Jiahui and the others to have something to do, preventing idle time.

People tend to think too much when idle, leading to unnecessary trouble.

The matter of the shopkeeper signing the contract with Misha was simple, one side wanted to give away a lot for free, the other didn’t want it for free, accepting the goodwill to use the secret recipe, thus naturally avoiding any disputes.

When Misha called Wen Yan, he leisurely walked out of the community, took a stroll, and took a look.

He wandered around, discovering the shop was still open today, so he ordered several servings of fried chicken and other fried snacks.
