The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

This man’s name was Kong Jinxu. He was Su Yu’s Dao partner, and also Yuanyuan’s father.

Su Yu and Kong Jinxu had originally both been Loose Cultivators. Later they met, came to know each other, fell in love, became Dao partners, and even bore a beloved son, Yuanyuan.

After that, Kong Jinxu’s Cultivation never advanced. He brooded over this. Later, somehow he decided it was because he now had attachments that were holding him back from becoming stronger.

He wanted to become a powerhouse, he wanted Ascension, so he had to remove the obstacles blocking his path to strength—his own wife and child.

So he decided to kill his wife to prove the Dao, kill his son to prove the Dao.

Su Yu’s Cultivation had always been a bit lower than his, and she still had to look after Yuanyuan, so she was naturally constantly exhausted, always fleeing for her life. She spent every day in torment. Unease, panic, terror, accompanied her at every moment, yet she had never once thought of giving up.

She wanted to live, to live together with Yuanyuan.

And so she had been hunted for over three years.

Now, this nightmare was finally about to end.

She had once wondered how a person could change so much. Her husband had used to be a gentle, kind man—how had he seemed to become a different person overnight, becoming so utterly deranged?

Later, she understood: it wasn’t that he had changed so much, it was that she had never truly seen this person clearly.

But none of that mattered anymore.

Today, she could finally end this nightmare with her own hands.

Kong Jinxu was horrified to the core. His Cultivation had been sealed, and he hadn’t even seen how that woman had made her move. Who was that woman, really?

”You beast—no, you’re worse than a beast. They say even a vicious tiger won’t eat its cub, and what about you?” Su Yu picked up the Broken Sword that had fallen to the ground, and drove it viciously through one of Kong Jinxu’s wrists. Her eyes were blood-red as she growled in a low voice, ”A piece of trash worse than a beast like you also dreams of Ascension? Impossible! Heavenly Dao would never be so blind!”

”Ascension—I can ascend! You cheap whore, as long as you’re gone, as long as both of you are gone, I can devote myself entirely to the Dao!” Kong Jinxu howled from the pain, yet his eyes were still viciously fixed on Su Yu as he shouted back.

”What, the ’dumbfuck Dao’?” Tianmiao was not far away, eating freshly roasted chicken wings, and drawled, ”Really sorry to break it to you, among all the people who’ve ascended, they cultivate every sort of Dao you can think of—just not your kind of dumbfuck Dao.”

”Y-you... what are you saying?” Kong Jinxu stared wide-eyed at Tianmiao. What did that last sentence mean? What did it mean?!! Was it what he thought it was? Saying so casually, ’the people who’ve ascended, the ones who’ve gone up’—where had she come from? Who was she?

”You still don’t understand why I was able to injure you? Because Heaven’s justice is on my side.” Su Yu spoke, then once again thrust the sword straight into Kong Jinxu’s Dantian. Her expression was ice-cold. ”I won’t kill you, and I won’t destroy your Spirit Root, and I won’t abolish your Cultivation either.”

When Kong Jinxu heard Su Yu’s words, he could hardly believe his ears. No one knew better than he just how much Su Yu hated him. And yet now she had only wounded him without damaging his foundation? How was that possible?

”I want you to live well, to cultivate well. And then never, ever reach your goal. In this lifetime, you will never ascend.” Su Yu withdrew the sword and stood up, looking down from above at the man lying on the ground. ”Back then I really must’ve been blind to fall for a creature worse than a beast like you. Spend the rest of your life proving your dumbfuck Dao.” It was the first time she’d heard the term ”dumbfuck,” but Su Yu instantly grasped what it meant.

At this moment, a vast roar had already risen inside Kong Jinxu’s heart: Heavenly Dao—this woman was the Heavenly Dao that had descended that day.

Kong Jinxu stretched a hand toward Tianmiao, then clenched it, grasping at the empty air, as if by doing so he could seize the chance at Ascension.
