The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

After Li Suyi and Kong Hou went out, Dong Xiao didn’t stay idle either, and went off to use the Heavenly Mechanism Mirror to look up the injustices happening in this world.

And Tianmiao...

The pitifully few Guardian Envoys of the Heavenly Dao Sect were all busy, so of course she wasn’t idle either.

She was in a mountain, grilling meat.

Chicken wings on the rack were sizzling with oil, drops of fat dripping down and flaring into little tongues of fire.

She picked up one skewer, brushed on some honey, and put it back to continue grilling. Then she picked up another skewer and sprinkled five-spice powder over it, letting it grill on.

Thinking a bit, she took out a few skewers of pork belly and laid them on the rack. Pork belly came with its own fat; she didn’t even need to brush on oil.

The air was filled with a mouth-watering fragrance.

”Mom, it smells so good.” A low voice sounded, a child’s voice.

”Hungry?” A woman’s voice answered, carrying some exhaustion.

”Not hungry, not hungry. I just think it smells really good, I don’t want to eat it.” The child denied it at once.

”Bear with it a little longer, Mom will take you to eat something tasty. Roast chicken, wontons...” The woman softly comforted him. ”We’ll rest here just a bit, then hurry on. Otherwise if they catch up...”

”Come over, have some with me.” Tianmiao suddenly spoke, cutting off the conversation between mother and child. ”Your kid’s hungry too.”

”No, thank you for your kindness, miss.” The woman’s apologetic voice came from far off.

Tianmiao chuckled lightly. ”No need to be afraid of dragging me down.” The moment the words left her mouth, the mother and child felt their vision blur, and they were already sitting across from Tianmiao.

”Because the sort of person who could drag me down doesn’t exist.” Tianmiao smiled and handed the woman a bowl of plain porridge. ”Your child hasn’t had a proper meal in a long time, has he? Let him drink a bowl of porridge first.”

The woman stared at Tianmiao in shock. What was going on? Because she was afraid of implicating this kind-hearted young woman, she had answered from far away and planned to take the child and keep running. But how had she and her child suddenly appeared right in front of this woman? How had she done that? Who was she?

”Mom?” The child looked only five or six, rather thin and small. His eyes now kept darting hopefully to the porridge in Tianmiao’s hand, then back to his mother. That bowl of porridge looked so delicious, and there was even a little spoon in the bowl—was the top of the spoon shaped like a little animal? He really wanted it.

”Who are you?” the woman asked cautiously. Someone this powerful, who could bring them over with a wave of her hand... She hadn’t considered that the porridge might be poisoned, because a person this strong wouldn’t need such trouble if she wanted their lives.

”Didn’t you once ask where Heavenly justice was?” Tianmiao beckoned to the child. The boy finally couldn’t hold back anymore and wanted to walk over to take the bowl.

But he had only taken one step when his mother yanked him back, dropping to her knees with him.

”Please, great deity, save us.” The woman shook all over with excitement. Was it as she thought? Was the person before her the Sect Leader of the Heavenly Dao Sect? She had been fleeing in madness, all to escape toward the East Sea and beg the Heavenly Dao Sect to uphold justice.

”Get up and eat.” Tianmiao smiled and gave a slight nod, confirming the woman’s guess.

The woman’s tears could no longer be held back. She clutched her child, crying in relief and joy. ”We’re saved, we’re saved... Yuanyuan, we...” Before she could finish, her vision went dark and she fainted straight away.

The child called Yuanyuan let out a shriek, but in the next instant he saw in amazement that a soft cushion had appeared behind his mother, and she lay down onto it gently.
