The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

”Why should I bow to her?” Concubine Qin asked Prince Kang with a dark expression. ”Why? She kicked me last time. Am I important to you or not?”

”You are important, you are important, alright?” Prince Kang placated.

”Then why should I bow to her?” Concubine Qin asked angrily.

”This is the ancestral rule, you are a concubine, she is the main wife. A concubine should bow when she sees the main wife,” Prince Kang previously thought Concubine Qin naive and charming, but now hearing this made him feel a bit vexed. Why did it seem so hard to reason with her?

”Then make me the main wife! Let her be the concubine and bow to me!” Concubine Qin said defiantly. ”You promised to love only me back then. I loved you so much, I was willing to be a secondary consort just to marry you. But now you bully me like this, I’m not willing anymore.”

”Don’t be absurd!” Prince Kang’s face darkened.

”How am I being absurd? You promised me, you assured me you’d treat me well forever, that I wouldn’t suffer even a little grievance. But in the end, you let the Princess kick me unconscious in front of you.” Concubine Qin angrily accused.

Prince Kang silently looked at the enraged Concubine Qin, suddenly feeling a sense of helplessness. At that moment, he felt they were people from two different worlds, completely unable to communicate.

Without saying another word, Prince Kang turned and left.

Concubine Qin was stunned for a moment, watching Prince Kang leave, and immediately wanted to chase after him.

But a silhouette blocked her path – it was the Palace Attendant who was teaching her the rules.

”Concubine, today’s lessons are still half an hour away.” The one teaching Concubine Qin was specially requested by Prince Kang from the Empress Dowager. This Madam Zhang, in her fifties, once served the Empress Dowager and was loyally devoted, personally trained by the Empress Dowager. Later, because she injured her foot protecting the Empress Dowager and couldn’t walk normally, she refused to leave the palace to enjoy a life of comfort, so the Empress Dowager had her honored and cared for in the palace. She and Madam Liu were good sisterly friends.

Madam Zhang held a special position in the palace, even Prince Kang was polite to her.

”Step aside, you wicked slave dare to block me?” Concubine Qin was on the verge of rage. The handmaid beside the Princess dared to scold her, and now this old palace maid dared to block her? She clearly showed no regard for her as the Princess!

”Once the Concubine’s etiquette lesson concludes, this old servant will naturally step aside,” Madam Zhang said in a flat tone. Yet deep in her eyes was full of disdain, wondering what Prince Kang saw in such a crude and unruly woman. Listening to her unfathomable talk earlier, if the Empress Dowager were here, she might have already ordered someone to slap her.

”Old witch!” Concubine Qin watched as Prince Kang’s figure was about to disappear and raised her hand to slap Madam Zhang.

Then just as her hand was raised, it was grabbed by Madam Zhang in one swift motion.

Concubine Qin felt intense pain in her wrist, as if caught by a vice grip.

”Let go! Let me go!” Concubine Qin cursed angrily. ”You darn slave, how dare you lay hands on me?”

Madam Zhang’s expression remained calm. With a flick of her hand, she flung Concubine Qin aside, causing her to lose balance and sit on the ground.

”Concubine Qin of the Prince Kang Mansion is crude and disrespectful, unfamiliar with etiquette. This servant is unable to tutor her. I hereby resign.” After saying this, Madam Zhang did not glance again at Concubine Qin on the ground and turned to leave.
