The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

In Prince Kang Mansion, Chun Lan excitedly reported to Tianmiao the news that the concubine had been imprisoned.

”Oh, she even scratched the Prince?” Tianmiao was eating fruit sent by the Emperor, seemingly a tribute from a vassal state, thin-skinned, juicy, fragrant, and sweet.

”Yes, she scratched the Prince’s face.” Chun Lan nodded, ”Now Qin Concubine is locked in the woodshed. She’s completely been abandoned by the Prince, it seems.”

”If the Empress Dowager finds out, who knows what will happen.” Xia He added. The Empress Dowager greatly loved this youngest son; if she knew the concubine actually dared to act against the Prince, who knows how furious she would become. It’s likely the concubine’s position has come to an end.

Tianmiao remained silent, clearly understanding the Empress Dowager’s temperament. Don’t be fooled by her smiling demeanor and seemingly warm and kind elderly appearance; when she was younger, blood was on her hands. The Empress Dowager was just a consort back then; she managed to give birth to two sons, ultimately fought through obstacles, and became the sole victor in the palace. Would she really be as kind as she appears on the surface?

Whether Qin Concubine can preserve her life remains uncertain.

In the Empress Dowager’s eyes, Qin Concubine was merely something her son married to please him, as long as Prince Kang was happy, she would have no objections. But to dare act above her station and harm Prince Kang now, the Empress Dowager would not let it rest.

When Qin Concubine was first locked up, she was still spirited, cursing. But then her treatment plummeted instantly.

No more gourmet meals; she ate only steamed buns and pickled vegetables daily. Her basic needs were also attended to in this crude woodshed. She slept on straw at night, though she had a quilt, it was quite uncomfortable. Moreover, one night, a rat crawled over her quilt, frightening her so much she screamed and didn’t dare sleep that night.

Qin Concubine couldn’t sit still any longer; she charged at the maid delivering food: ”Where is the Prince? I need to see him. Tell him I have something very important to share.”

The maid hesitated, saying nothing.

”Take this, quickly help me find the Prince.” Qin Concubine removed her bracelet and handed it to the maid.

The maid was delighted, accepting it and nodding, ”Concubine Qin, wait a moment, I’ll report for you.”

After the maid left, the woodshed door was locked again.

Qin Concubine looked at the two buns on the dilapidated table, glanced at her wrist now bare from wearing the bracelet, and gritted her teeth in hatred. These treacherous servants, she’ll deal with them properly once she gets out! And those two brats who blocked her mouth before, they’ll be punished as soon as she leaves. Especially the hateful housekeeper; she must find a chance to have him ousted, she’ll have the Prince replace him so she can settle accounts.

However, Qin Concubine knew clearly, before anything else, she had to first placate Prince Kang. Otherwise, everything was a pipe dream.

After the maid took the item, she found the housekeeper, showed him the bracelet first, then told him Qin Concubine’s intention.

”Understood, you may go now, keep the bracelet as a reward.” the housekeeper nodded.

”Yes, thank you, housekeeper.” the maid happily put away the bracelet.

After letting the maid leave, the housekeeper squinted his eyes, concealing the cold glint emerging from them.

Claiming there’s something important to tell the Prince is likely false, it’s probably true she wants to plead and win back the Prince’s favor.
